  • We know how challenging it can be to replace parts on your Omnibot robot, so put this video together to walk you through the process.
You'll only need a Philips head screwdriver and some patience to perform this task. The entire process has a few gotchas that we'll call out as we walk through it in the video. It should take 20 - 25 minutes to complete the replacement.
The rubber gripper changing process is similar for the following robots:
TOMY Omnibot (Model No. 5402), TOMY Hearoid (Stock No. 2010) and, Radio Shack Robie Sr. (Catalog No. 60-2398)

I had no idea the design needed to be so complicated - the designers of this toy were clearly frustrated rocket scientists. But now I want to replace the treads and grips for my robot :-)

Thanks for your order. The gripper hand mechanics are crazy complicated. I had to take another one of my bots apart to figure out how to get the first one back together correctly.

@@DabooDesigns Thanks! Got the parts! And now of course I can't work out how to put the claw back together ;-) Update: my 14 year-old helped me. We found an exploded schematic and that really helped.

@@GrantMeStrength I found a "service Manual" but it doesn't show the reassembly of arm or claw - did you find a schematic diagram for just the claw?
