When I know I'll need to mass-produce the molds to increase our casting throughput or quickly replace a dying mold, I make matrix molds to speed up the process.
A matrix mold is basically a mold box that can quickly be assembled around the master model with an air gap in-between for the silicone to be poured.
In this video, I'm making more molds to increase our throughput 4x to ramp up production for one of our clients.
I use a lot of 3D Printed and Laser cut parts so the mold box and base are all easily replicated and replaced as needed.
