That guy easily believed in that scam because it's his mom's money, 100 bucks say he wouldn't have fell for that 27 thousand dollar scam if it was his money.
I don't know if it is Psychic power but I am an Igorot a tribe from the mountain region of Cordillera, Philippines. We have a medicine man or high priest called mambunong and they are very accurate on thier predictions especially on detecting sickness/disease and if the patient seen by the mambunong first goes to a Doctor the diagnosis are very similar. The difference is the mambunongs don't seek publicity, money, recognition or most of the time the secret on how they do what they are good at.
This lady from Napa told my boyfriend he has spiritual cancer that will come into reality if he doesn’t get treatment He paid her 3,000 and now her “treatment” isn’t working according to her
I don't get it. When a psychic succeeds, lands a big client and milks them dry. Then it's a crime. But as long as they rip people off daily with their bullshit, it's legal?! Heck they have legal store front businesses!!! But careful don't succeed at it, cause then it somehow becomes a crime??!! It makes no sense to me!! And to be very clear. I'm not not understanding why it becomes a crime. I just don't understand how it ever be legal! (They have a freaking tv commercial on every day for a company of psychics to call on the phone, and be charged by the minute. And that's allowed on tv cause in tiny letters at the bottom it says in a disclaimer that its for entertainment purposes only. But that isn't what the ad actually says!! They give examples of people that followed the psychics advice and their lives became perfect!! This sounds to me like your pushing this as a truth! Not for entertainment!)
If she can scam someone good for her... It's the stupidity of those that actually believe that this crap is real... Even a blind, deaf man knows its a scam...
I remember when I was young and I went to a pawn shop and bought an equalizer. Well as you know equalizer didn't work. I took it back and I was told, "too bad so sad that's what you get" . And yeah, you get what you pay for and it's a lesson well learned. If a person is dumb enough to keep going back, then they get what they deserve. It's not the sellers fault
Pork Chop totally agree! And somehow they can have legal store front businesses doing exactly this legally! But if they land a good client. It becomes a crime?! I never got that! Don't get me wrong, I'm actually not understanding how it can be a legal business, charging people for something YOU CAN'T do!
Damn I was a fool who got scammed. Was in a vulnerable position since I just broke up with my partner and was desperate for guidance. I lost $600 which was not as much as these ppl but I still feel incredibly embarrassed and ripped off. Her name was Psychic Carmela from SF
So is she going to prison because she said she would provide a service, but said services do not actually exist, since psychics are fake? I don't understand what she is charged with exactly.
Vulnerability is not an excuse for stupidity. A fool and his/her money are soon parted. If you're foolish enough to believe in obvious bullshit, you deserve everything bad that happens to you.
It blows my mind how many people fall for the most ridiculous scams, and people still fall for the Nigerian prince scam (still get that one in my email). Even if I was gullible enough to fall for these scams, I don't have any money to give them so there's that

With a little help of the seller.. Same kinda thing.. Ppl and adds talk us out of money on a daily.. Its sad but it happens.. I personally coul never fork over that kinda money to anyone.. Jus to know my future.. Naw..
Does anyone know what makes her different than every other “psychic”, in terms of why she was criminally charged? Did she fail to say “novelty purposes only” or something?
Not great reporting. New York State it's illegal unless stated for entertainment. CA courts have upheld under freedom of speech and State it's no different than many other jobs offering advice. Need more clarification here. It's not a scam or fraud under CA law in the general sense. I believe it is more if they move into crossing the line into extortion ie: give money or your going to get hurt and I won't help you .
These moochers are no different than TV Evangelists! If you need 💴 ask God for it. When they need money they the ask “the flock”! They prey on people that are suffering and both laugh all the way to the bank!
Who is to say there wasn’t a curse? Idk if I was removing a curse and opening my body as a vessel to dark spirits I would charge my life’s worth- but then again I know she full of it if she’s paying them back lol
Some comments on here calling the victims 'stupid.' Come on, many of these people have just come home to find a loved one dead or maybe experienced something as tragic as losing a baby. They may be naive, I would even say sometimes extremely gullible, but some may just be messed up by a huge loss and clutching at straws.

The scene when they first showed up to Vietnam how they portrayed it in the movie about they dont know whats going to happen or expect.
If she provided some sort of "psychic" services and they agreed to pay for the services, why are they saying she's a thief? You agreed to pay for the service!
If she was really psychic wouldn't she have known she was going to get caught?
It doesnt literally work like that
I believe that would make it much harder for authorities to catch psychics.
If I were the cop arresting her, I'd let her have a "You didn't see that comin'?"

But the curse! ...who will remove it now ;___;
I mean, companies get away with selling people lies all the time and don't seem to get fined or have executives thrown in jail....
Stupid is as stupid does.... Psychics might be scammers but it's not their fault that some people are just that gullible.

Honestly. The "psychic" isn't a criminal. How is she in trouble for someone WILLINGLY handing her money? She didn't burglarize them.
It's Emilee that’s the definition of scam, and scamming is a crime
A scam artist, is simply a thief with a loophole.
I too have been the dummy that has been swindled by these idiots. Online psychic websites and phone types. Where’s mine?
I had an ad about a pyschic while watching a video about pyschic fails, youtube should change their ad algorithm lol.

Psychics that demonstrably lie to their clients for money should be fined at the very least.
