My mom and my sister and I went to a show Theresa Caputo did. One time during it, she mentioned someone who a lady close to where we were sitting was related to, and the ones who were supposed to help didn't care.
Later she described someone who sounded v v v similar to my mom's dad. We tried to get her attention bc we were up on a balcony area but the workers involved in her show didn't help or try and told us to stop.
Eventually my mom realized some of it had to have been already planned and made to look like a genuine interaction when it wasn't. I've hated Long Island Medium ever since I realized it was the show was scam bc had it been a real thing, she would've been totally happy to come up to where we were.
I remember my Mum telling me that she and a friend went to see a psychic when she was younger. Her friend was a believer and eagerly gave out information to the man who told her many things she wanted to know. Then my Mum went in..she had decided that she would say absolutely nothing at all…give nothing away whatsoever. So she sat there straight faced and just looked at the guy. After 5 long silent minutes he asked her to leave because he said she was blocking the spirits from him…lmao! This is a very good method for testing them. I think everyone should use it.

If the spirits were actually talking to Teresa Caputo and relaying messages to her for their loved ones that's in the audience, then the spirit would be able to tell her who it wants the message to go to. but she continuously asks the audience who is it that had this before they passed away or who is it that had that before they passed away. if the spirit is really wanted to get a message to their loved ones through Teresa then I'm sure the spirit would be able to tell her who they want the message to go to in the audience.

To all of you believers out there - think about this........(this looks long but my comments will really give you something to think about). Why does Long Island Medium say that the way she communicates with Spirit is different than how we communicate, adding "I communicate with symbols and shapes" but during the reading, she frequently says something on lines of "he said to tell you how proud he of you", or "nothing was left unsaid" etc. So what kind of symbol or shape does she see to get these messages and quotes? You can totally tell that she is ad-libbing and saying things that she assumes wants to be heard. It's the hesitation while she is speaking.
Also, her readings only reveal what the survivor already knows. NEVER once have I heard her give factual information that is unknown by the survivor. So many people want to know the reason for a suicide. Shouldn't she be able to provide this information? Even if it's negative, some people want to know. It is total proof that she is FAKE. (no new information).
She has defrauded everyone she has ever read. For her to continue making millions of dollars, she should have to prove she is not a fake. Doctors and nurses have to take licensing exams to practice medicine. There should be some kind of testing for Theresa Caputo to continue doing this for profit. That should be easy.....solve a murder. Most murdered people knew their killer. It's time for some real communication with the dead.
I used to say that she is just reading minds because she only speaks of things that that the survivor already knows. People will actually say "nobody knew that but me" or "I never told anybody that". But after reading that people get interviewed before the show and the camera crew goes inside of houses before she show (to get clues) etc, I have changed my mind.
What a terrible and cruel way to spend eternity - floating around people's living rooms ( never the bedroom or bathroom). Also, what happens to the souls when their entire family has passed on? Do they have a hoot in heaven party?

I got a reading once from a medium. I was very skeptical but she said things and actually solved a few mysteries in my life that I had never considered but ended up being true. She also mentioned other things that were not me at all but related to other people in my life, she predicted a future baby boy at a specific year and month and a person that I was close to at the time ended up having a baby boy at that year and month. I went to someone for a future reading of my life. It started off pretty well and then all of a sudden she started to look worried. I asked her what was wrong and she said that it was something about my father. I left right away because I did not want to worry at all. Five days later my father died.

I got live show tickets to see her for my birthday, she was very sweet. We got so close to the end of the show so my mom and I doubted we would get a reading. There were about 2000 people there. Then out of the blue she said who is finishing the blanket for someone. This was no "cold reading". She named our old dog for Christ's sake. Everything was spot on, you can never truly know if it's real until it happens to you and I get that. You don't know if they are paid or what's going on, after this happened I can honestly say that I believe.

I used to believe in psychics. In fact, I used to work as one. It was when I looked into standards of evidence that my belief crumbled. People like her are the reason education and critical thinking are so important. Not everyone who's in the business are knowingly scamming people out of their money. I know I truly believed it for a while. But unfortunately, not anyone can show under reasonable circumstances that they have the power to do what they claim to. To that end, I do think she knows she's scamming people. Her responses to criticism show me that she knows she's full of shit and wants the money.
Education is a powerful thing, and without it you can get scammed very easily by people who seek to take advantage of you and by people who genuinely think they're helping but actually aren't.
If anyone's curious, I calculated how much I made from working as a psychic and I'm donating that amount to charities and skeptical organizations to help people get out of the business and help people who've been taken advantage of. I feel I owe that to my society, even though I didn't intentionally wrong anyone. The damage is still done and I still feel I need to pay it back.

They they go out and research people beforehand this is why you book in advance. A friend of mine wanted to see a physic and have a reading, so i took her to one for her b-day. She's pretty damned gullible and insisted that I do it too because she shared her future with me. The psychic got alot of things right with her and everything wrong with me. The only difference is that she was super chatty, and I just sat quietly and didn't stand until a pregnant woman caught up to get a ride and I gave her my seat. She still believes in psychics despite everyone saying she's a fraud. I even told her that I could demonstrate how it's done because all she's doing is gathering info from your all the small talk and your body language. She insists that it was 100% real and thinks I'm crazy.

Of all the alleged psychics/mediums on TV, Ms. Caputo is the *least* believable, imho. She likes to dish out the most generic, feel-good sentiments to people who are so sorrowful they'll believe anything. In my own life, my beloved husband of 37 years died in 2014. There are some very, very specific things a medium that could tell me to make a believer out of me, but other than that? Not buying it, literally or figuratively.

I can't deny the fact that I liked her show, but there was a time when I started questioning her capacity to channel, then I started to see more of a "celebrity" than a "medium", then I realized this whole thing was a show. It took me about 6 shows, not seasons, to see through her. I find it very disgusting to use people's feelings, hopes, and pain to gain money. A true medium, although extremely rare to find, will never charge a fee. To me, she is worse than a used car salesman, at least with the latter you drive away with something real.

When her show first came out I watched it, and thought it was amazing for someone to have the ability to communicate with loved ones who have passed on.
We had Theresa come to my house after my brother passed away, it was for my mother who hoping to connect with him, he died in a tragic way, my mother needed answers and help to understand what happened, all of us praying my mom would get something positive out of this, well after 5 minutes into the reading I left the room, I knew in the first minute of her trying to “connect” to souls that have passed on was BS. For the hour of her going through the letters in the alphabet and saying things or phrases trying to reference a day and time or event was a waste.

I don't charge money, and I only speak to the individual if spirit truly needs me to. it's not something I parade around. I can say I have misinterpreted spirit before, but it's not easy. Most "mediums" just read off the same standard script unless they can search your Facebook account or online information first. It amazes me how many gullible people fall for it. Throw in some very common names like Paul, Margaret, John, Lynne / Linda, Dave, Anthony/ Tony etc... There's a gentleman here who died of heart or chest issues. There's a lady who died of cancer. A young man who died of tragedy. They are with a baby. Did you or someone around you have a miscarriage? There's a dog there with them. Where's the link to uniform? Military? Your grandad wore hats / smoked. There's a ring / necklace of your mams / female relatives. There's a watch of your dad's/ male relatives. They're acknowledging a disagreement in the family. Whose getting the memorial tatoo? Did you do something to remember them with candles / balloons? There's a birthday/ anniversary coming up. There's a photo that's been framed / blown up / put on a canvas. Whose been having headaches? Whose moving? Buying a new car? They're showing me keys. You're getting a ring or necklace made out of their ashes. You've kept some of their clothing. You're getting something made out of their T-shirts / shirts. Memory bears or blankets etc. You sleep with something of theirs, a hoody or jacket perhaps? Whose decorating? You went to see them after they passed. You touched them and kissed them. You put a single rose / flower and a letter in the coffin with them. People disagreed on elements of the funeral. They're showing me paperwork that still needs to be sorted out. All standard, generic, scripted statements that apply to most people. Unless they can search your Facebook account or obituaries first they'll never tell you things that are important only to you like your favourite song, last film you watched together etc. They'll never tell you specific memories that you have of them.
With true mediumship, we do not ask for money. We tend to keep to ourselves unless pushed by the living OR spirit is overwhelming. Secondly, spirit does not always show up even when asked. Third, the deceased due to bad causes sometimes move on and don’t want to stay behind and if they do, they don’t remember the event due to trauma. I actually have seen a person’s perpetrator before and given info to police. It’s usually vague like a first name or place they were during the event. Sometimes they don’t even know as it can be random. For those of us who have real mediumships, here is what a real example would be like.
I was randomly talking to my co-worker in the hallway about work projects. A lady appears beside her as we are talking. I know NOTHING about this co-worker’s family except that she’s married. Woman looks very similar to her, but shorter, hair pulled into a bun, and her eyes are smaller. It was her mother, who told me she died of leukemia and wanted me to tell her daughter that she was sorry for not talking to her before she died. She told me she was from a small town called Bao Loc in Vietnam. I had to mention this to the co-worker as I was being pretty pushed by the spirit. Co-worker stared at me in disbelief as I told her that her mom was proud of her, that I knew she died of leukemia two years prior, and that I knew her mom was from Vietnam. Now, don’t get me wrong, I knew my co-worker was likely Asian as she looked Asian, but I didn’t know where from. She started crying and stated to me that her and her mother were not on speaking terms before she died because her mother apparently didn’t like her choice of a husband, he was American. I’ve had a lot of things happen around me that just can’t be explained. That’s what mediumship is. We ignore it a lot.

My mother's friend attended one of her shows/readings when she came to a nearby town. Theresa told my mother's friend that her miscarried baby, who died some 40 years ago, was standing next to her. Theresa revealed the miscarried child's name. This was a name my mother's friend told to no one,...not even her husband. Theresa than just blurted out 4 other, seemingly impossible to know, facts about her. She was 100% accurate on all five obscure details.
By the way, this was an entirely one sided conversation. Theresa did all the talking. She casually revealed these details, than simply moved onto someone else.

I, myself, went to a medium a few years back. My sister took me to her as a gift.
When you get a real medium, the event is truly stunning.
When I was a kid I kept having these dreams where I was a slave/oarsman in the bowels of an old wooden ship. With chains attached to my ankles and around my neck, with welts on my back from being whipped.
This medium proceeded to tell me in a past life that I had been a slave who was an oarsman on an old Viking-like ship. She told me I had been wrapped in chains,.....etc.
She also revealed that I had been stabbed with a spear, while on this wooden ship. This stabbing ultimately led to my death. At this point I was simply tossed overboard like a piece of garbage.
This medium pointed to the lower left part of my back as the location of the stabbing.
This stabbing, death, and being tossed overboard were details that were absent from my dreams.
But the fact that I have experienced excruciating pains in the lower left part of my back for over 30 years of my life leads me to believe this really did happen me.
It might be worth noting,...prior to this reading, neither my sister nor I made any mention of my constant back pains. Plus, I gave her no outward indications I was in any kind of pain. (30 years of practice enables me to hide the constant discomfort, quite well.)
This medium went on to tell me many, many obscure things that I had told no one before. Things that I had only thought about. In fact, the biggest obscurity thing she revealed was the absolute first thing she blurted out to me as I was walking into her room.
She said, "Okay, for starters,...you really need to stop swearing at God."
For many years, as a result of my never ending back pains, I will frequently swear to God. When I am at my worst I will scream to God in my head (not out loud), in anger for providing me with this defective body.

a scammer can get info anywhere if they know where to look. A psychic in the UK did a reading for a woman, he told her all kinds of things about herself she was amazed. It was later discovered that the psychics sister lived next door to this woman. He did a reading for this woman on a tv show at the tv studio, and told her she drove a mini, one of the film crew said he was sat in his car and this lady drove up and parked next to him in the car park. Then he did another reading on this other lady and a tv crew with host Derren Brown sat in on the reading which was a disaster. Instead of just admitting he failed he blamed Derren Brown for corrupting the house with his presence. Haha ha anyone who believes this crap is nuts.

I do not believe this because about 2 or 3 months after my grandmother died my mother visited her when she had a tour. My grandmother's name was Marcia but preferred to be named by Marci (without the A). My mother wanted to hear about her best friend named Gene (who was killed in the 80s in a shooting) but instead of her hearing from gene she got what Theresa described as "the letter M" and mentioned it being a recent death. When my mother said it was probably my grandmother (she called her "Marcia") Theresa described seeing anger as soon as my mother said the name. I'm not sure if she is absolutely real but this was a pretty surreal and realistic experience to my mother and I. I am not trying to defend her or go against her because I know there are fake mediums but I do believe that she is real but that is my opinion and everyone has one.

I saw her ON HER OWN SHOW, in someone's home, where there was a little framed photo of the deceased on a boat with her dad....THENLATER, she says " your daughter wants you to know how much she enjoyed the trips on the water with her daddy"....NO ONE, NOT EVEN THE STAFF CAUGHT IT!.....I'm sorry, if someone is that gifted, Shirley they could/would be more acclaimed than a cheesy TV show, and using the "gift" to help FIND THE MISSING, not send OBVIOUS messages, like "he misses you and loves you".....as long as people buy into this garbage, it will be around with a huge number of "witnesses" vouching on the "physics' behalf.....jeez
