Hi m8, I have a DC40 which has a couple of problems which I hope you can help me with. Hoover picks up on carpets but nothing when using the hose? other issue is the upright part that has the handle, hose and plug lead attached to has broke in two (I had the canister off at the time it broke in half) I need to replace both these items have you a video on changing the upright part and what is the issue for hose not working please, thanks hope you can help cheers.
The retaining cliip at 2.09 didn't exist on my model - I realised after a while that the hose housing had a little lip on both sides - and to retain the hose into the housing you need to push it over the lip using a screw driver. Took me almost an hour to figure that out. Other than that - thankyou - I did the job.
