  • Replacing the internal hose on the Dyson vacuum is actually fairly fast and easy. No significant tools are needed other than some Torx screw drivers and possibly something like needle nose pliers.

    Thanks! Your shortcut worked like a dream! It sure beats the heck out of the disassembly everyone else demonstrated. Like you said, pulling the old hose and installing the new one required some wiggling and pulling, but I was able to swap them pretty quickly.

    By far the best video on inner hose replacement. Took me less than 15 minutes put a new hose in. Thanks

    Thanks for doing whatever experimenting you did to figure out that the hose could be replaced much more easily. Like the other comments, I must have seen five or six videos that did the heart transplant method.

    Best "how to" video ever! Simple to follow and all steps covered. Worked perfectly and done in less than 15 min. Not sure why Dyson won't supply this part in Canada, however had it shipped from the UK without any issues.

    Wow thank you so much for making this video. Your method is so much easier than all the others I've watched. The first time I tried replacing this part, I did it the hard way and after getting the new piece in and reassembling it, the stupid little red tab broke before I even finished putting it all back together. I was beyond annoyed that I had to waste money ordering another part, ugh but I did. This time though I followed your method and it was a breeze getting it installed and back together! Thanks again

    Thank you so much!!! Mine broke in the exact place and I just received my replacement hose today. Such easy instructions without having to remove a million screws and parts! Yay!!! (Loved hearing the familiar accent from a fellow Canadian too 🇨🇦)

    You may want to add what size and type of Torx Screwdrivers a person would need to do the disassembly. I saw in the first portion of your video that you showed the same Torx set I have, which starts at a size 9, but after experimenting with my vacuum, I discovered that a person really needs to go to a small size T8 for some of the screws. AND, it can't be a T8 Bit; it has to be a T8 screwdriver so it can reach down into those recessed holes. You later switched to using a Torx Screwdriver that has a shaft long enough to reach down into the countersunk screws.

      Yeah you need some abnormal sized screw drivers to pull the vacuum apart.
      I actually find a lot of appliances use odd size or proprietary hardware that makes life hard.

    What size is that first screw that you took off (inside the red tab?)

    Nice alternate way to install this piece without so much disassembly. Does your way have any chance of snagging, cutting or abrading the new hose as you wrangle it into place?
    At 5:35 in your video, think of adding a zip tie in a vertically oriented loop to reinforce the snap in connection so that it doesn't rely so much on the red tab and tiny screw to hold it in place.
    I have had my DC65 Animal Complete since 2014.

      I think the hose should be fine. you would really have to be aggressive with it to damage it putting it in this way.

    Great DIY project as always! Thank you for sharing my friend!!! How is Dyson reliability overall? How long have you had it? Do you recommend to invest into is vs one time use dirt devils and shark brand vacuums?

      @DIYNorth  Год назад

      I think that I've had it for 8 years now.
      I'd buy another one. This little piece of plastic is the only thing that has broken.
