  • This is the part I used for the repair
    UK - ebay.us/xVl3w6
    US - ebay.us/xp7wLy
    Tools for the repair.
I used tools from a mobile phone repair kit and also some from a small multi socket tool set.
I have had a look through the video and believe you only need a T8 and T15 Torx Screw driver. ( Please correct me if I am wrong.
I have found these tools which would get the job done
    Amazon - amzn.to/43V87T8
    eBay - ebay.us/RMZVRZ

This was a wonderful video. I changed the valve by simply following the step by step instructions. I tried two other videos and got very frustrated. This method involved fewer steps and had better close-ups. To make it even better, there were birds chirping in the background.Thank you!

That one screw on the back side that holds the bracket together was a pain to put back in. Other than that it was easy. Some engineer needs to be taken behind the woodshed. Put all the screws on one side
    Great video. That you!

I had been polishing my carpets for a few months.....before realising the hose was working but not the carpet head which was just brushing with an asthematic wheeze....now fitted the new pipe and the dust mites are history......Great video. I took off both sides (wheels) for more access.

Thanks dude! Good video though I would recommend taking the other side of the ball off so you can do those fiddly screws, I lost the washer inside the machine, managed to get it back out with allot of shaking though

Watching this has reminded me why I switched from Dyson to a SEBO Felix as I was fed up with Dysons poor quality parts and poor durability. The SEBO I am pleased to report is 100 times better and I would not go back. What a faff to change the hose inside the machine, but your video was one of the best!! I found a very cheap Dyson online and bought it. I plan to swap out the split hose and then sell the machine. The new changeover hose is what made the user of the machine I bought ditch it and buy a new one. Only lasted them 6 years!

Just changed my hose at about 10 years old so I don’t think that is too bad. Had more problems with the cable around the "ball" to the brush motor.
I don’t find the SEBO Felix that durable. I have been regularly mending one that keeps failing. But is probably tougher than the average Dyson, especially if used in a non-domestic setting.

Thanks for this. Easier to follow than some others as can clearly see what you are doing at each step. I did however take both sides of the ball off which made accessing the screws on the non filter side much easier. Once again thanks.

I just completed replacing hose on a DC40 ERP and followed this video and I only paid £10 for this machine and £5 for the hose. Works just fine now. Thanks for this! The part isn't available on the Dyson website so found this RUclips video while looking for the part and got the added bonus of you showing me which screws needed to come out. The ebay link for the US is sold out but a quick google for the part # allowed me to order from Amazon so it's still fairly easy to get. Had to re-vacuum all my carpets; mine was worn exactly like in the video.

Hi Pal, Sorry for the late reply. To be honest I forgot what I had used and I think I took screwdrivers from two tool sets. I think all you need is a Torx 8 and 15. I have added a link to the video description.
