Sedley by Parfums de Marly is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Sedley was launched in 2019. Sedley was created by Olivier Cresp and Hamid Merati-Kashani. Top notes are bergamot, mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon and mint; middle notes are rosemary, geranium, lavender and olibanum; base notes are sandalowood, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, cashmeran and ambroxan.

Driving home with Sedley on the back of my palm while driving i unexpectedly kept getting whiffs and saying to myself "What cologne am i wearing that smells so good??"
It's really good, but so strong at home became cloyingly. I've been on the fence about buying it for 3 months now.
Its classic 1960's Italian scent with a modernization to it. The same genre as D&G Light Blue Eau Intense.
Loved the video! Was looking forward to her thoughts on these two fragrances.

It has definitely grown on me to a love since the first time I tried it last year. It was just a like then, now I enjoy wearing it. Wish it was a little bit stronger in potency, but it smells great.

Great video, i recently purchased sedley too and it is BY FAR my most long-lasting fragrance, its absolute beast mode on me, i can smell it for 12+ hours
I’m jealous. My 2020 bottle only gets about 4 hours. Hopefully as it ages it gets that!

Love the video guy and gal. Sedley sounds kinda like Pure XS, is it? What would be the best blind buy for everyday and compliments from PDM?
Nothing like Pure XS. Pure xs is a warm sweet Vanilla Coke. This is a bright refreshing citrus mint. Like the pictures in the video when she describes it as a soda, think of those :). Both are easy to wear and will get you compliments as Freshies tend to do. I always say test out before blind buying anything if you are able to though.

Which do you prefer between the two?
We like both. Luke wears Percival because he loves Abercrombie Fierce and it’s pretty much a clone of it. Jeff wears Sedley because it’s fresh and effervescent gives a nice fresh out of the shower.

Percival is more long lasting and Seldley has bright crisp opening . It's hard to choose one between both of them
If Sedley lasted longer it would definitely be a clear cut winner for me. But because of that they are more of a toss up with both smelling really nice. We enjoy both of them

Sedley sounds interesting but I hope it lasts at least 5hrs I mean I don’t expect 12hrs for a fresh scents but For their prices I expect at least 6
It is about 5 hours for me. Another subscriber in the comments said he gets 12 hours on him. I got mine for an incredible deal which made it more along the lines of a Chanel Parfum price tag, so that definitely made it nicer.
I don’t need beast mode performance anyway because I have a good collection so I wear 2 per days. I hope you get greenley soon to see the girls opinions about it because I heard it’s a nice one too

I prefer sedley , I think it’s quite a underrated PDM . Percival smells a lot cheaper than it is but will probably get more compliments just because it projects more and has great longevity
Both are quite enjoyable
I prefer Percival by miles.

@@SoCalScents yeah judging from the note breakdown I think I would! But there has been a lot of talk about performance issues, especially in the original 2019 batches, so I've been too scared to buy it 😄 if you buy from discounters you can never know for sure which batch you'll get..

@@SoCalScents damn! 🤔 2020 batch should be the better performing batch, they supposedly fixed the performance issues... But everyone's skin is different, there are some "beastmode" frags that don't perform at all on my skin, and also some "weak" frags (like D&G The One EDP, La Nuit de L'Homme, Y EDT) that have great performance on my skin 😅

Im coming from the live ofc so like and comment, i guess I can still ask a question, I have Givenchy Gentleman EDP (love it), First Instinct (love it), Prada Carbon (Like it), Club de nuit Intense Man(Don't like it). What do you think I need in my collection? :) Hopefully under 80$ for 100ml, jsut to not spend too much (less is better, but im down to pay for better scent, quality or performance till its too much - also compliments and ladies appreciation is all i need) :D
Explorer is a better pick up then Club de Nuit. You can get a 100ml for like 40 on eBay. I would also recommend Hawas, great fresh sweet bubblegum vibe.

I love the vids, and i would love to see more with your favourites, and fragrances you choose for Top 5, Top 10's for certain seasons or occasions, based on your likings and on your guests likings throughout the months, not only those where only 1 girl decide if she likes some or not, although i love those videos as well, and cant stop watching :)

@@SoCalScents Damn, I wanted to go ahead and buy Rasasi Hawas but this one costs 70$ where I live, when some other Rasasi's cost maybe 20$. Since when this brand became so expensive. Is it worth to buy these perfumes for that much? 70$ i can buy same bottle of Dior, Armani, YSL. Not even speaking about some of even cheaper ones like dolce&gabbana, prada or versace and all others.
Percival dry down is beautiful. Sedley dry down is powdery which is not my favorite.

It’s a pleasant fresh mass appealing scent. But we don’t think you should blind buy niche as that is a lot of money to spend if you don’t enjoy it.

No, save some money. We like Percival but the other alternatives are better value.

@@glall3603 they are all spin offs on fierce. Honestly price value I would pick Legend. Edt or EDp work fine, I’d wait a few months on the edp to drop down in price as you can get the edp for under 30. I like all 3 scents I just find it hard to justify the much larger price tag of Percival when you have nice alternatives for a low price.

She absolutely nailed it in my opinion. For a person who loves Cola scents. I first got to smell this at Nordstrom unexpectedly from the entire PDM lineup and this caught me by surprise.
I absolutely got Cola right off the bat and more of that fresh cola effervescent vibe. It blew me away for a fresh scent.
I own a bottle of Pegasus which I really enjoy but after smelling the entire lineup Sedley will be next with Layton, Galloway, and Herod in the lineup.

Sedley does not last. Great opening but fades rather quickly. Expected out of a freshie but too expensive. I have cheap designers that perform and smell better
We have to do clothes spraying when we use it as well. Luckily we got our bottle for 130.

It was a bonus add on, so she did like the drydown. I could have easily have left off that part. She likes both.

Always smell on the skin. Always judge on the drydown. Judgments based on the strip and only after first spray are inaccurate judgements of how fragrances smell in real life use.
We test on the strip as it is the most neutral version of the fragrance. It’s also how the perfumers test it out. Roja dove even did a post on it a few months back :)
