People complain about PDM predominantly making fragrances that smell 'designery'. Yet the one time PDM actually made a proper niche fragrance (Kalan) everyone bashed it for actually smelling unique and therefore, challenging. When in fact, most people fail to understand the fragrance. IMO one of the best creations for this house, finally bought a bottle this year and absolutely love it! If you havent tried it, Justin, highly recommend. Great list, nonetheless, thumbs up.
Maybe they just didn’t like it? A perfume can be unique, challenging, and still not be great. There are a lot of bad niche fragrances. So yes, this is one of their more niche attempts, but it’s not a great product. Wonderful you like it, but clearly it’s not resonating with consumers (niche or otherwise).
😂😂 yo the way you described Carlisle is how I describe Fan Your Flames. It’s amazing to see how scent is so subjective from nose to nose. Loving these last few videos with humor but truth in them.
I’m currently in Paris and hitting all the perfume shops and Nishane was a complete bust for me. B-612, Fan your flames, Hundred silent ways, Wulong cha, Sultan vetiver…didn’t like a single one. For me the house is Ani and Hacivat…
Have you tried Althair? I am in love with it! I own Althair, Godolphin, Haltane, Carlisle, Herod, and Layton Exclusif. Honestly, I love all of them so much that I cannot rank them lol Great vid as always, Justin!
I really like Layton Exclusif and Althair, but I really love Herod-- you're spot-on in your description. I think it's a perfect masculine scent for Autumn and Winter.
Wearing Herod right now. It's super nice. Probably my favorite tobacco scent. Oajan is also really nice. Smells like ink and cinnamon to me. Carlisle is a great. Smells like a oud fragrance but I don't think it has oud in it. And of course Layton. I remember smelling it for the first time and I loved it immediately. To my nose its still incredibly unique.
PDM are a great fragrance house, I know what I’m expecting when I try their scents and the materials are great quality! They do mass appealing on a great level, not every brand needs to be bespoke and out of the box!
Sedley is the only fragrance I currently have from this house, and I love it on hot days, it performs so well imo, plus it’s a compliment getter most of the times I wear it.
Completely agree with you on Carlisle. I purchased a decant and tested it a few times but just didn't work on my skin. I do own a full bottle of Layton and Sedley and really love both of those. Keep up the great content JC. Shout out from Costa Rica 🇨🇷✌🏽
Of the four you showed at the beginning Lippizan is my favorite Marly and Byerley knocked Encre Noire out of my collection. I think you would love Hamdani and Kuhuyan, by far the most interesting from the house, IMO.
I haven't tried many of them, but from the ones I have, this is my list (starting from the most favorite): 1. Althair 2. Haltane 3. Carlisle 4. Sedley 5. Oajan 6. Pegasus 7. Herod I've tried both Laytons (multiple times) but I just don't like them. Althair is a hidden gem that blew my mind and I wore it all the time until the bottle was empty. Can't recommend it enough.
Herod smells so good and I can say that others don't get the longevity either. It's hard to pry my nose away. I would use my bottle up pretty quick. For similar reasons PDM is just out of my league. I've enjoyed all the ones I've smelled. If i could i would have everything of theirs.
Last winter i got tons of compliments from PDM Althair, this summer i used Percival but was not impressed with the performance and in general the smell is not spectacular. Next summer i will try Sedley/Greenley, I’m wondering for winter 2024 between Layton or Oajan 🤔
PDM is slowly growing to be my favorite house, currently Xerjoff is no.1 for me. I love just how high quality and wearable their offerings are and they have something for every occasion. Funny story for me regarding Sedley and Percival is when I first tested them I legitimately couldn't smell anything at first. It took a few wears to finally pick up all the notes. Once I did though, BOY were they nice.
I own four: Layton, Pegasus Exclusif, Sedley and Carlisle (recently sold Herod). I probably get the most compliments on Layton. I wear Sedley the most and gets almost as many compliments. And the one I enjoy wearing the is Pegasus Exclusif. If I had to buy another one it would probably be Habdan. I might need to come back to and try (again) Haltane, Perseus, and Althair.
Great list Justin! Herod is so special to me as well as in it evokes so many beautiful memories. From my own PDM collection, I would rank according to my taste: 1. Herod 2. Althair 3. Oajan 4. Layton 5. Sedley 6. Greenley 7. Pegasus Cheers and have a Blessed Sunday
Great insight. I’m deciding between Pegasus Exclusif and Herod for my next bottle pick up. I love both on my skin, but something about Exclusif is unique
Great video and selection, it's honestly really hard to pick. But if I could only pick 8, It would be these. 1.Layton (all seasons date night) 2.Herod (fall casual, date night or formal) 3.Pegasus Exclusif (fall date night) 4.Greenley (spring) 5.Sedley (summer) 6.Carlise (winter formal) 7.Haltane (winter date night) 8.Percival (all seasons / white shirt & jeans)
Haltane is my all time favorite. I’d actually put Layton lower than Percival, I didn’t appreciate Percival at first, but that one is a great reliable all year scent that works better than Layton imo.
I agree with you on PDM's quality. I also hesitate to put them in any order since, since I find the ones I love all equally amazing. I don't have your scent vocabulary, but I think of each of them the way I perceive them: For me, Herod is a sweetened, smoky, tobacco blast; while Pegasus is like rice krispies with its snap, crackle, and pop. Carlisle is a sweet, leather beast, what I imagine royalty smells like; Oajan is like a slow-burning, cinnamon-clove fire, and Perseus is a bracing citrus, laser (though it's reminiscent of Bulgari Tyger). Living in NY, I especially love the store on Washington Street, as the staff are the nicest people ever.
When I began this journey I got a PDM sample pack. Haven't sniffed Harod or any bottle made after, so my fav is Carlisle by far. It does have a "Classic" feel, yet even more and beyond that it has a classic charm about it. Smells so rich !
For me my ranking of those I have is: 5: Sedley 4: Layton 3: Galloway 2: Percival 1: Haltane I really like Perseus and Kalan as well, but don't have bottles. Kalan because my wife isn't a big fan, and Perseus simply because I haven't picked it up yet. I'd probably rate it as #2 between Percival and Haltane if I did have a full bottle.
So you missed the best, Haltane (way better and smoother than OFG), Oajan (best winterfragrance), Althair (best Orange Vanille Scent). PDM is a great house.
Oh HEROD. One of my first fragrences ever. For years I've roamed, and never have I found its match.. Sweet, warm, sensual until next morning. Crazy good!
Never heard of Darley before, but amouage reflection smells so good.. I blind buy pegasus exclusive, but me and my wife love pegasus a lot more.. my favourite will be Layton, Pegasus, Carlisle and Kalan.
I have like a 3-4 year old bottle of Herod, it performs 6-8 hours, moderate projection but I don’t care the scent is the best from the house hands down
I love this house so much, pricey but your definitely getting your moneys worth because they last all day and the scent either gets better or stays the same after a few hours. You have to spray these on your skin to get the full depth and performance of these fragrances. So much deeper in the layers compared to on paper. 1.) Carlisle would be my number one from PDM , dark-sweet gourmands are my favorite kind of scents. Carlisle changes after like two hours into a creamy vanilla (which I love). I was going to say it opens up as a green apple with Smokey leather and a vanilla base, but you said “tar” and now I see/smell it! Yeah almost like rubber tires lol but it still gets me compliments every time I wear it with a black leather jacket. 2.) Layton is number two for me, a warm-sweet green apple pie, a nice-guy kind of scent. Exclusif has the same DNA but they added tobacco (very elegant tho) 3.) Pegasus was so weird to me at first but I loved it. It reminds me of two things : a very metallic root beer float or horse hair lol 4.) I sadly personally have to disagree with everyone on Herod. It was a blind buy for me because it still hyped as everyone’s favorite, but I can’t wear it. It just smells too much like cigarette/cigar smoke to me. Like if I just walked into someone’s house and all they do is smoke on their couch. But I can say it does smell high quality but it’s just too real for me. But I love your videos Justin, I’m a follower and your my favorite fragrance enthusiast. I’m always looking for what’s new/good in your opinion. Do you still play music? And how many instruments?
I own 12 PDM. Herod., Layton, Haltane, Pegasus, Layton Exclusif, Perseus, Pegasus Exclusif, Galloway, Carlisle, Greenley, Kalan, and Althair 😅 My top 3: Carlisle, Layton Exclusif and Pegasus Exclusif. ❤
1A. Herod 1B. Layton Exclusif 3. Kalan 4.Carlisle 5. Layton 6. Sedley I own three, bought 4 of these and have smelled all 6 plus Percival, Greenley Pegasus, Pegasus Excluif, Akaster, Oajan, Haltane. I didn't add two more because I don't have interest in the others Oojan and Haltane I don't like at all though. I don't think incare much for Greenley either but the others are OK but I wouldn't know where they'd rank for me outside the 6
I really like Akaster, Nisean and Oajan. Akaster is like Black Aoud but with a wonderful musk in the dry down, it's manly masculine but not too harsh, I prefer it to Ombre Nomade. While Nisean is like Jubilation XXV with a lot of Carlisle's patchouli and Oajan is a better version of Ambre Narguile or Angel's Share with a clean - kind of - soapy dry down.
Nice video again Justin. I own several perfumes of this house ; Perceval, Layton, Layton exclusive, Sedley, Herods , Kalan. To me Sedley does not do anything at all; no longavity at all. I am not familiar with there newer fragrances. To me Herods and Layton exclusive are the best.
Disappointing that Carlisle is so far down the list but I can appreciate we all have different tastes. At any given time, it rotates between my No.1 to No4 along with Herod, Layton and Oajan. I own 11 btw.
Personally, I can't rank all or many PDM fragrances because I've only have three fragrances thus far, but I don't like Layton Exclusif. The fragrance was wearing me. I wasn't wearing the fragrance, lol. It just didn't mesh well with me. Plus, there was something about it that I felt like I already had or experienced, so I sold it, and I hope the person I sold it to is enjoying it.
Realistically in the real world even though many fragrance influencers say pdm is so popular the percent of people buying them is very low and no regular person is gonna spend 200 to 300 and up even on discounters it’s just not realistic to but I would say pdm makes really great high quality fragances
If you like Herod, do try Divine Vanille from Essential Parfums. Both made by Olivier Pescheux, and smell very similar, but Herod has more tobacco where DV has more cinnamon and wears "lighter", so you don't need it to be very cold to enjoy.
Your comment is very accurate 👍I bought Divine Vanille last year and I love it , like you said it wears "lighter" than Herod and very well blended but they are very similar and il love the fact that the vanilla note in these these 2 fragrances smell very natural, like a real Vanilla pod.
Nothing against anyone but Out of all the fragrance influencers, i must say your recommendation i agree with 100%. Few examples Vertus vanilla oud, Cartier declaration, Michael malul jet black reserve, pdm pegasus exclusif.
Awesome video as usual. I like how you explain the reason why each is ranked in the way they are. Great job. I am. PDM freak, and it is difficult for.me to rank them BUT If I had to it would.go.like this -altahir -layton exclussif -kalan -carslile -pegasus exclusif -oajan -godolphin -layton -herod -sedley -greenley
Layton and Layton elusive don’t worked in my skin. I like Greenley, Sedley, percival and Pegasus. I am still trying to decided which one of those is the one that I am getting.,
@@DannyBoyzZUnited thats for you to decide, even though their scent profiles are very different to me, i would wear them in the same situations and seasons. I recently bought tobacco vanille, so i would recommend that of course :)
Hey, new to the channel. Subbed and liked. Thanks for the vid. I wonder how you would like Habdan. I blind bought it recently and am waiting to receive my bottle now.
I offloaded my 2020 Herod due to it performing so badly. I hated doing so because I loved the scent itself. Maybe time to revisit, if it has been improved.
PDM is 1 of the best in the game!!! Freshie? Greenley, Galloway, Perseus, Percival. Colder weather? Herod, Oajon, Carlisle, Haltane, Habdan. Layton is an all year round beast.
My cousin keeps on raving about Godolphin. Never tried it but all I know that it's a leather fragrance that shares similarities with tuscan leather. Sadly, the only store that sells PDM in my country is always out of stock cos someone seems to be hording all the releases
I get like 8 hours on skin out of Herod, with a pretty noticeable presence for the first few hours. I never got the complaints about performance. I also like Haltane quite a bit. I have a 15ml decant, and will have to consider a full bottle after I burn through it.
I think the brand gets criticised because they often make fragrances that are quite similar to other perfumes on the market. It’ll be interesting to get your thoughts on some of these. Every time I smell them they just feel very familiar to something I already have or have smelled for less than half the price and I’m not talking about duplicates. As an example the new one Perseus seems extremely close to Hermes’ Vetiver and Eau Givree
Newer to fragrances than you are and many others i see reviewed so I don't see them as derivative since i just have experienced less scents over all. I have sampled nearly the entire line and bought althair, peg exlusif, sedly and haltane. I'm waiting on a better deal on carlisle to pop up and i've enjoyed the many clones of layton original enough that I won't probably buy a bottle since the added price for an uptick on the quality isn't there though its probably only behind althair and sedly in my favorites. I enjoy your takes on fragrances and have been satisfied with ones I've sampled or blind bought if the markdown was good enough off your recommendations or descriptions even if they weren't a favorite of yours personally.
If you think Kalan is proper niche from this house try Hamdani or Kuhuyan
@@owencharnon20right? haltane too
Kalan is my favourite too, love it, i wear it all year round except summer
I have a near full bottle (missing 10 sprays) if your anyone is interested. Blind bought it, but can’t stand the spoiled rhubarb notes 🥲
Carlisle, Layton, Haltane, Herod & Pegasus Exclusif are my favourites, great picks my guy 🔥
Carlisle is a very sophisticated fragrance begging for cool or cold weather but I'm guilty of wearing it during the summer. It's that good 😎
😂😂 yo the way you described Carlisle is how I describe Fan Your Flames.

Best intro monologue! Thats why I keep subscribed.. you always keep it real. ❤
Thank you!
Have you tried Althair? I am in love with it!
I own Althair, Godolphin, Haltane, Carlisle, Herod, and Layton Exclusif. Honestly, I love all of them so much that I cannot rank them lol
Great vid as always, Justin!
Thanks for watching! Althair is pleasant.
I just picked up Althair and it's perfect for the cooler weather. The ladies love it
Habdan is so underrated and slept on such a beautiful spicy rose with a fruity accord
I really like Layton Exclusif and Althair, but I really love Herod-- you're spot-on in your description. I think it's a perfect masculine scent for Autumn and Winter.
I must say Althair is growing on me especially in the colder seasons. I would put it in my top 3-4 now. Harod is also my #1.
I appreciate you amending your opinions on your videos.
Would love the link to or else a video of “Changed opinions”
I did a live version of that topic a while back.
ruclips.net/user/lives-j-KanhopM?feature=share
Great job, I would only switch Carlisle and Sedley. Can’t wait to dig into some of your older videos for a good chuckle.
Wearing Herod right now. It's super nice. Probably my favorite tobacco scent. Oajan is also really nice. Smells like ink and cinnamon to me. Carlisle is a great. I haven't tried many of them, but from the ones I have, this is my list (starting from the most favorite):

2.Herod (fall casual, date night or formal)
3.Pegasus Exclusif (fall date night)
4.Greenley (spring)
5.Sedley (summer)
6.Carlise (winter formal)
7.Haltane (winter date night)
8.Percival (all seasons / white shirt & jeans)
I tried this range and the 2 I liked most are Althair(which gets crapped on which is fantastic year round) also Pegasus Exclusif.
Haltane is my all time favorite. I’d actually put Layton lower than Percival, I didn’t appreciate Percival at first, but that one is a great reliable all year scent that works better than Layton imo.
Percival is so boring though
Herod is very well blended, one of the smoothest fragrances I have ever smelled. Classy too. 🎉
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
SOTD is Haltane, just masterful perfumery 🔥
I love my Percival!
When I began this journey I got a PDM sample pack. Haven't sniffed Harod or any bottle made after, so my fav is Carlisle by far.
It does have a "Classic" feel, yet even more and beyond that it has a classic charm about it. Smells so rich !
For me my ranking of those I have is:
5: Sedley
4: Layton
3: Galloway
2: Percival
1: Haltane
I really like Perseus and Kalan as well, but don't have bottles. Kalan because my wife isn't a big fan, and Perseus simply because I haven't picked it up yet. I'd probably rate it as #2 between Percival and Haltane if I did have a full bottle.
Great list, Harrod is a BEAST on my skin and is my favorite fragrance period!!
So you missed the best, Haltane (way better and smoother than OFG), Oajan (best winterfragrance), Althair (best Orange Vanille Scent). PDM is a great house.
I also prefer Layton and Herod over Carlisle. I also prefer Pegasus exclusive over its original
Oh HEROD. One of my first fragrences ever. For years I've roamed, and never have I found its match.. Sweet, warm, sensual until next morning. Crazy good!
Nice video. I have Galloway, Percival, Carlisle and Oajan. I really like all of them. However, my best compliment came while wearing Carlisle.
Never heard of Darley before, but amouage reflection smells so good.. I blind buy pegasus exclusive, but me and my wife love pegasus a lot more.. my favourite will be Layton, Pegasus, Carlisle and Kalan.
1-Habdan
2-Herod
3-Carlisle
4-Layton
5-Sedley
Herod is my favorite tobacco fragrance. Never had any problems with longevity. I have new and old batch

But I love your videos Justin, I’m a follower and your my favorite fragrance enthusiast. I’m always looking for what’s new/good in your opinion. Do you still play music? And how many instruments?
Thanks for sharing! I still play music, trumpet and piano!
I'm wearing althair on a cool autumn day, and what an amazing fragrance day it has been.
I own 12 PDM.

1A. Herod

I totally agree with you! Herod is my top 1! And Percival is the last for me too ! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Herod lasted 2 days on my wrist despite doing sport showering etc
And on the paper strip kilian intoxicated is still smellable since 10 days 😮
Nice video again Justin. I own several perfumes of this house ; Perceval, Layton, Layton exclusive, Sedley, Herods , Kalan. To me Sedley does not do anything at all; no longavity at all. I am not familiar with there newer fragrances. To me Herods and Layton exclusive are the best.

Great list Justin and congratulations on the 100k 💪
Herod is the only PdM I have and Nr 🥇😅 It indeed is a very nice fall winter scent.
Herod and layton are my favs of all time👉🏼👈🏼
Totally agree with herod and my no.2
is ooajan.
Personally, I can't rank all or many PDM fragrances because I've only have three fragrances thus far, but I don't like Layton Exclusif. The fragrance was wearing me. Carlisle is great. I’m probably gonna check out Herod hearing nothing but good stuff on it!
I really like some of the fragrances here, however, i believe Oajan can easily become the number one in your list Justin. Have you tried it?
Did you see that it was an honorable mentioned at the beginning of the video?

I’ve definitely tried it! Good stuff. I still prefer Herod!
I have 8 PdM. Many of them in this list. The best is Godolphin. Nothing beats Godolphin when it comes to leather based fragrances.
I love Darley, my favorite is Haltane from the six bottles I own. I plan on getting Pegasus Exclusif soon
Nothing against anyone but Out of all the fragrance influencers, i must say your recommendation i agree with 100%. Few examples Vertus vanilla oud, Cartier declaration, Michael malul jet black reserve, pdm pegasus exclusif.
I'm glad my favorites work for you.
Carlisle is my favorite in the house hands down. Godolphin and Pegasus exclusif would be my 2nd and 3rd

You must be gate keeping Pegasus exclusive cause that smells like heaven on earth. 🎉
Agreed...wearing it now and looking to add a full bottle.
Herod performs amazingly well
Althair, Haltane, Pegasus Exclusif are my top 3 in no particular order
Cool video. Which PDM are you most eager to add to your collection and at which spots in your ranking do you expect they might appear?
Not sure if I have any particular ones on my radar at the moment!
My three favorite PDM’s are Layton,Pegasus Exclusif and Carlisle. I have sampled Layton Exclusif but it just doesn’t work for me.
Layton and Layton elusive don’t worked in my skin. I like Greenley, Sedley, percival and Pegasus. I am still trying to decided which one of those is the one that I am getting.,
Is herod better than tobacco vanille? Great video btw
Yes, most definitely
@@DannyBoyzZUnited even though they are both Tobacco and Vanilla fragrances, they are two completely different fragrances
@@bean2419 so it’s not redundant to own both?
@@DannyBoyzZUnited thats for you to decide, even though their scent profiles are very different to me, i would wear them in the same situations and seasons. I recently bought tobacco vanille, so i would recommend that of course :)
@@DannyBoyzZUnited pdm is way better, it has a hint of cherry too which i get which makes it sexy asf
Just blind bought Oajan. Fingers crossed
Herod is so amazing!!!
Good review 👍🏻
My current favorite is Oajan. Especially for fall.
Hey, new to the channel. Subbed and liked. Thanks for the vid. I wonder how you would like Habdan. I blind bought it recently and am waiting to receive my bottle now.
Thank you! Need to revisit Habdan.
I prefer Pegasus Exclusif to Layton Exclusif it's less jarring
Habdan, Kalan, and Pegasus Exclusif. These fragrances are exquisite
Hi Justin, what's your take on Godolphin?
It’s good-but I prefer Tuscan Leather.
I agree with you!
Honestly Althaïr takes the cake now!
What's your thoughts on Parfum De Marly Althair?
He will like it very much when he tries it out. To me it's the #1 PdM.
@@cruztube23interesting 🤔 I have a bottle of Parfum De Marly Althair but I never smelled Parfum De Marly Herod if you are referring that one.
@@gregboston9756 Nah I'm talking about Althair being the number one in their lineup.
It’s very pleasant, but not special to me!
Herod is my favorite followed by Layton Exclusive and Pegasus Exclusive.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
