What did they use to roof with to begin with? What material is that? So my hubby and i are building home soon and want to do this. But i need a roof first, thats why im asking? Thanks for this video!!
Nice work and video. And Very cool tool to measure elevation. As we say in Greece "the tools make someone the master" meaning no matter how good you are, you need the proper tools to excel

Hey. Would you recommend composite 2x6 for the framing or wrapping the 2x6 in window tape for better weatherproofing? Got a 1600²ft flat deck coming up. Thank you for this video!
@@woodbullyltd just having a problem with the water not escaping like it should and customer is trying to steer clear of wood and I don't blame them. Thanks again, fam.
Good video. I'm here because I'm looking into adding roof top access to a 5-plex that currently has only ladder access. Just wondering how big of a deal it would be. Seems like it might actually be pretty doable.
that roof was not done properly, they only added two and didnt not add another two ply on the wall flashings. those seams at the corners will open up over time with expansion and contraction… it’s unfortunate bc they may have roof issues in the future and your putting on a high level deck! they might have to remove the decking to get to those roof leaks down the road:(
@@woodbullyltd theres not much you can do the roof is already done, here is a link to better explain what im talking about ruclips.net/video/-La9StLJL6c/видео.html
This is exactly what happened on a house I just bought. No adequate drainage or maintenance caused the room below to get water from a damaged rubber membrane that failed. Water, mold, mildew, rodents in room deck built over. Ceiling fell in now entire deck has to be removed to fix damage. Out of thousands since seller hid damage and my inspector didn’t catch it.
Please tell me you're going to tape those before putting the deck materials on?
U should build access panels for the drains out of the decking material incase they ever get clogged

They used asphalt rolled goods.
talk to your designer or truss maker, and get a proper load # so your roof can take on weight of ppl and furniture.
Great video. I’m about to do the same exact thing. What is the cladding or decking on the walls? Looks great.
On the walls??

Can that elevation level output 16th of an inch segments rather than 10ths?
If you want to go super accurate you can go metric and 2 decimals

Yes! We actually ended up putting new siding up and flashing the corners. What would you recommend before we seal it up?
