@@ThroarbinGaming fair honestly Remedy made: Max Payne if you've ever heard of that. and quantum break but because those two are owned by Rockstar and Microsoft they moved away to focus on Alan Wake and Control because Remedy owns those and they want to make their own stuff.
The quest you did after the credits was dlc. Also the reason why you didn't understand the story is that you propably haven't read the files and notes. Also the guns might have performed poorly because you haven't upgraded them.
Remedy definitely doesn't write stories for people who don't want to dive deep into them. They write stories for people who engage with them like the guy in that meme who's connecting a bunch of photos and newpaper articles with red string. You need to both think about them obsessively and let yourself get a little conspiratorial, a little schizo. Remedy sees "maybe the curtains are just blue" memes and laugh, not because they're true, but because that fool didn't consider all the other blue things and how they collectively communicate what blue means, if you've also read at least a bit about Carl Jung. What's wild is that they truly are coherent... but I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking otherwise. People misinterpret stuff because they forget information barely communicated once several games beforehand. **The Remedy connected universe is Kingdom Hearts for pretentious people.** They drop story beats that dip into ARG territory outside of their games, once releasing a wattpad blog with no indication that it was from Remedy, no indication that it was fictional, and just knew that someone would find it eventually. It dropped a hugely important idea into Alan Wake's story and even now most peple are unaware of it. There are _whiteboards_ in this game that drop what might be important information later (they certainly did in Quantum Break, they actually pointed towards this game). Remedy always sacrifices some gameplay variety and polish for cinema. They make extremely cinematic, high-quality games despite being a fairly small studio and the game being fun comes second. Control is a game where they certainly focused harder on gameplay, and as someone who has dived really deep into it, it's story definitely still feels... unfinished. A little disconnected, even. It plays with High Weirdness but doesn't integrate those concepts into the game itself as much as Alan Wake II does, ironically.
About the end. The Nail was a part of Foundation DLC. There's also AWE DLC, but you won't understand it because it's connected to Alan Wake. By the way, try playing Alan Wake
Sam Lake is basically if you took Hideo Kojima, turned him finnish, and then made him drop acid Might explain why the game is incomprehensible at times
The Pierce mod was my favorite. After doing a side quest, you get a special mod that entirely removes the charging delay. With headshots, you can clear enemies insanely fast.
I appreciate you listening to us and watching the cutscenes ❤ trying to make sense of Control is a beast tho. I think i read all the files, notes, articles and watches a lot of RUclips videos about the story and in some ways its still elusive. If you didn't watch Loki season 1 by now it's pairing up quite nicely with control in terms of style :D maybe you will wnjoy that odd coupling as much as I did :3
Just subscribed today after first seeing your 1st Portal video and then bingeing the rest of your channel. I hope to see you cover the rest of the Half Life episodes when you have the time, but I'm excited to watch your channel grow!
I absolutely love Control, precisely because I can play it through without paying a lot of attention to the story. To me it plays like classic games that were big on gameplay, and there was a story in the game manual, but you could totally get through the game without reading it.
It is interesting to hear other experience with the game! You didn't mention, but did you read any of the documents that you can find? If I remember correctly you are supposed to get the story from them. (Played the game a while back, so not 100% sure...)
you should play bugsnax i know it does not sound like much but that game is awesome Especially because of the voice actinmg you can rarely find a game where the voice acting is good And you can sometimes relate to a character and also the game is about collecting halve bug halve snack creatures with many diffrent bugsnax (100) and the game also has a free dlc its a really good game overal and the game gets a bit spooky at the end.
I don't know if you have tried dying light 1 and the dlc for it called the following but I loved it and i even preorder the game and tried the beta. Maybe you would be interested in playing the new dying light game that can be wishlisted on steam which is dying light the beast. I only played on Xbox but I hope you know there are alot of good weapons and materials and blueprints and gun's in the game. I recommend getting someone to drop you items for just one save so you can see and explore the game with things you would normally not have. You can create a second save that has nothing. But at least you can get a grasp on the game with the first save and with someone who has experience with the game. There are glitched/modded weapons but im not talking about them personally. Also I'm not a fan of dying light 2, play at your own risk.
Hey if more portal content drops can you make some vids on it I love your vids and loved the portal ones I’ve seen all the portal ones and I think it would be really cool
noooot quite done. there's like an endless randomized level for people to keep playing if they really wanna max out all the guns and dick around with the combat that's also why the random missions show up to give you an excuse to go to an old zone fight a slightly tougher enemy and gain upgrade material.. but there's no real... point to all that outside of just playing around with the guns. skippable IMO there's another dlc story with new enemies and a new gun that's easy to miss because it triggers by you walking towards that physical elevator from the central executive hub area, you know that elevator you never need to use once you have fast travel. the whole dlc takes place in "investigations" and is a tie in with the horror shooter Alan Wake. You fight a boss that's a bad guy from Alan Wake 1 that he never delt with. and Jesse shows up in the DLC for Alan Wake 2 soo the series' are bouncing around each other. actual content here yeah there's a few powers that are not mandatory: Dash, shield, seize (mind control) there's also a **Legendary** mod for each gun that gives them something unique that really fleshes them out. like the one for the shotgun removes the spread soo it becomes an accurate hand cannon the one for pistol makes it soo every shot you land refunds you the ammo but the game doesn't really give them quests they're just like, baked into hidden areas and environmental puzzles
Yeah, the ending is kinda meh, sudden and abrupt, as like devs tried to squeeze it because of the deadline. Also there is a lot of running between places especially if you want to complete all side quests and grind for a bit. Some tipes of weapons I didn't use as much, and some modifiers are kinda garbage if you ask me. But I really like some special ones that you can get later in the game e.g. the one that gives your shotgun -100% of spread, basically turning it into sniper rifle. Combining it with +20 (or how many were there at max) projectiles and you have the Weapon of Gods, not a shotgun. But once again you need to grind for such things, and you'd be able to use them like what?.. for a remaining 5% of the story? Of course, there are "after game" with trials and some other mini games and grind missions, but overall you can be left unsatisfied. I can agree on 7/10. The story is good, gameplay fun and can be challenging, but there is lack of depth and some unnecessary stuff. Still worse trying once... or play it with xbox gamepass as I did🙃 P.S. For Allan Wake fans it's obviously must play, even for you just to appreciate all the refferences. And do not forget about one of the DLCs)
While i understand not playing games for the story, the story is a big part of why people like games made by Remedy.
I have no idea who Remedy is, I just saw a game that looked fun, lol

You should check out the bioshock games. Absolute pioneers of storytelling
hello, I'm just watching some of your videos and I gotta say, you worth more than 25k subs, good luck with the channel, and life in general

It's very interesting to see reviews of games from someone who is permanently new to gaming. haha
Remedy fans eating up every scrap of paper and random sticky note like ducks on bread crumbs
Are you going to do HL episode 1 and 2? Or Aperture desk job, a non-canon official valve minigame?
you know you're bad at games when the first time gamer breezes past the campaign faster than you
It is interesting to hear other experience with the game!
You didn't mention, but did you read any of the documents that you can find? If I remember correctly you are supposed to get the story from them. (Played the game a while back, so not 100% sure...)
you should play dredge
Wellcome to a Remedy game, almost all of them are so. Gameplay is Fun, but the Story is Confusing. Same also for most Kojima Games
