I just found your channel through Jessie and heard you mention your Dutch roots, but since I'm not sure whether you speak Dutch I'll stick to English :-) You're honestly living my dream life with all the flowers and the animals and surrounded by nature. I also wanted to move to Canada for a long time. Now I have no choice but to watch all of your videos! We do all have our favourites, for sure! When you do your sunflowers this year, I wonder if you can find a peachier one? I’ve grown Pro-cut Plum which is in the warmer tones, but a bit more pinky and burgundy
@@floristsonfarmsI also like ProCut Plum! This year I'll be growing 4 ProCuts: White Lite; Plum; Horizon; and, Red/Lemon. I'll mostly be experimenting with spacing to see what size blooms are most workable. I'm renting and only have one 4x4 and one 4x8 raised beds. I'm not a fan of mixes either. I bought 27 different varieties of zinnias to see what I like. No space to waste! I grew 3 from the Queeny series last season. I was surprised how much I liked Queeny Lime Orange! My Zinderellas were a disappointment. I'll try direct sowing them this year.
I googled the Red/Lemon sunflower, that is pretty! Zinderella Peach, which is in my video too, is not as reliable to get those double blooms that are so cute! And the diameter is smaller. It’s a great colour; but yah, I just don’t find it quite as useful because of the bloom size. The Queen series are just so consistent for me year after year. I have a new variety of Queen coming in this year, a blotchy one! I’ll have to look up the name.

That fern - I got it on sale at a garden centre and it seriously makes me so happy every day!
Oooh yes! Cherry caramel is great because it brings in the creams and the pinks! I use it a lot. I could have talked for probably another 30 minutes on various cuts that I use. I feel like maybe I should just do another short video to highlight the rest of them 😄
If you don't mind sharing the variety (or varieties) of copper ferns that you grow it would be greatly appreciated. You are an Amazing floral Artist! Wow! Thank you for the inspiration.
You are so kind, thank you! And yes, I’m very glad to share. What those are are Bracken ferns (Pteridium), it grows wild here in large quantities. If you’re in an area where it grows, you can recognize it because it branches, rather than the rosette style growth of most ferns. Actually, if you check out my “Wreath Inspo” video where I forage a wreath, I show a section of it in my woods. Now, it’s green all spring and summer, and in late summer it starts to turn golden and then dries in place in that buttery caramel colour. I forage it and use it fresh as soon as it starts to turn. Essentially, I’m using it as a dry product in fresh designs, and it works very well like that. Hope that helps (and hope you can find some near you!). It’s one of my most favourite things to forage!

I haven’t grown it for a long enough time to know it’s growth character; but I think it can range a bit with the weather, moving more into the corals and more into the pinks. Where are you that there is no Mission Gypsy? Is that the UK?

Well this explains why I'm always growing peach coloured flowers (and foliage).
Aha! Tell me about the peachy foliages that you grow! One that really stands out to me for those colours is peony foliage in the fall!
I grow Coleus "campfire" and Amaranthus "illumination". Maybe not that typical for floristry but I use it for my arrangements@@floristsonfarms

That one is “Autumn Joy”, very common, you should be able to find that one in most garden centres :)

Oooh roughly 40-50 different ones at the moment. No, I don’t overwinter in the ground, it’s too risky for me here!
