  • Just checking in with some things to look forward to on the channel in the next little while! We're going to be talking market bouquets: the good, the bad, the ugly! But seriously, I see so many of you struggling with market bouquets and I am excited to share with you from my expertise in many years of commercial bouquet production and how I've applied that to my market bouquets. Please ask your questions here so that I can include as much helpful information as I can for you in my upcoming market bouquet videos; because I truly want these to be effortless and simple for you - I want to see you succeed with market bouquets on your flower farm!

    Always interested in early foliages! I sell at a farmers market. We have to grow everything in order to sell. I struggle with foliages

    Suggestion for market bouquets is clarifying when to use what solution: harvesting, holding, quick dip, vase food. I see many questions in our group asking when to use each.

    I’m interested in specific bouquet recipes. Seems I’m always saying, “Gosh, that would go perfectly in this bouquet if only it were a bit more…” Colors are hard to choose, and aren’t always what the catalog shows. I’m new here but love your channel!

    Curious about your recipes and wisdom about color palettes. It’s really easy to have too much going on color wise I think. sometimes it can totally work, but other times it’s a disaster.

    Thank you for sharing. I only make bouquets for myself. But I am using spirea as a filler in the bouquets, and it lasts all season long. Being that it is a perennial is wonderful as well. Another filler I am using is cinnamon basil. Any tips on growing yarrow would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

    What do you use as a focal flower during the lull between peony/ranunculus/anemones and lilies/sunnies

    • @lindafraser1396
      @lindafraser1396 2 месяца назад

      Lol, I just found your gap video

    • @floristsonfarms
      @floristsonfarms  2 месяца назад +1

      Haha! That will help! For the focals, I go from peonies into dahlias. In fact, I’ve gotten my dahlias to bloom at the same time as my peonies at this point; but between storing peonies for weeks and my early dahlias, that is all I really grow for focals. I don’t use lilies, although I’ve inherited a few into my perennial garden, and I don’t focus on sunflowers, although I grow a few for later season just for myself. In my zone, the dahlias carry me right through into the fall :)

      Love your videos, so informative!
      I struggle with overstuffing bouquets because I can’t seem to loosen my death grip on the flowers and so the bouquets always seem too skinny, if that makes sense?
      Also would love to see when you’re harvesting how far down you cut..
      Thanks, looking forward to the series on market bouquets 😊
