  • Very Helpful MPC One Feature!
    Today we're looking at a very helpful MPC One Feature. Progressions mode is an awesome feature that helps out by assigning different chord progressions to the 16 pads. This is great if you don't have a ton of music theory knowledge, or if you're just looking to expand your palette! With a ton of different options, you're almost guaranteed to find a progression that you enjoy. Enjoy the video :)

    MPC One - so so much packed into this little box for the money - this piece of kit is what true democratisation in music is all about, providing a quality outlet to anyone with the talent and determination to show their artistry to the world.
    Much like the Tascam 244 did in the 80's & Atari ST/Cubase in the 90's.
    Thanks Freebeat 👍

    there’s something i’ve learned about being a great artist: be multi-talented! you can’t only specialize in one app/program/device; you must be great with multiple! just like you, freebeat. you can use the op-1, op-z, pocket operators, volca, monotron, model cycles, mpc… you are a great artist

      With modern music I think you’re right. I don’t know where genius hides with these chord progression features though. Since machines (I love them) music has become very 4/4. It’s not so easy on a machine to program odd times signatures but as a band it was simple. So long as you can count. Nowadays knowing I.T seems as important as knowing anything about music. Deadmau5 even boasted about knowing no music theory!! Which to me sums modern music up.

      @@jamisbillson4872 yeah modern "mainstream" music is so bad. Can you imagine having to have face and neck tattoos to be "legit"? The good thing is that there are tons of amazing musicians and bands out there. They're just not on the billboard charts etc. That's the one good thing about social media.

    • @pappysheart6710
      @pappysheart6710 2 года назад

      That's a good point. Kinda like understanding different ways of getting a particular result and see how different elements fit together across different workflows. The big picture.

      @@pappysheart6710 I was expecting some rant about not knowing how great our modern musicians are. Comparing music from pre & post 2000 is staggering.
      Little Mix or Abba?
      Jimi Hendrix or Ed Sheeran?
      The Beatles or One Direction?
      Rolling Stones or The Wanted?
      James Bay or Prince?
      Kanye West or Michael Jackson?
      In the U.K. it’s rare for people to have heard of Nine Inch Nails…my band. But everyone knows Beyoncé!!!
      I was in WHSmiths (newsagents) a while back. There was a group of young girls…about 13 or 14 years old. They were all fawning over a One Direction book. One girl said to the others…”You know Liam plays the guitar?”!!!! So it’s now a surprise when a ‘Musician’ plays a fucking instrument these days. Sad.

    The chords thing is cool, but I'm most psyched that I never realized you could get to that section by double clicking on 16 levels. it just never occurred to me for some reason so thanks for that.

    • @CodySmiley
      @CodySmiley 2 года назад +3

      You can double click on any red labeled button. Use shift+play/start for enabling metronome. Holding main button or menu button and pressing a pads helps moving in system.

      You can create your own progressions as of Update 2.8 I think. Search on RUclips, Tubedigga has a video on it as do others.
