The coolest thing is when you create something amazing and it brings tears to your eyes with emotion. I've had that experience a few times with MPC One and even PO's.. anyone else had that? Incredible is the power of music. The best natural high is it not?!
Yo that! And what’s very awesome is, starting out with an old R-to-R tape deck, a Gibson SG, a Jazz Bass, and a cheap Boss drum machine over a half century ago (I’m 72 now), it still brings on those tears when I listen to those old tape reels (now transferred to digital) 👍😃🥰

Yay! Nice explanation and demo of the workflow. Btw, this workflow is what got me sold on the MPC One. Now I just need the money… Back to PO-33 for now
I was going to dive into the po series but after calculating how much a few of them could cost, I figured it would be better to save up for an mpc instead
@@siniquezu I have 4 PO's and eventually got an MPC One.. Hi man! Nice video! I’d like to know if the MPC One has a mode similar to Ableton where you can launch clips, MIDI or audio. I’m looking for a machine that can be the brain of my setup in order to sequence all the synths + play audio samples, but I really would like to have the option to easily trigger “individual” MIDI sequences to play synths during the performance, independently of the position in a song or track…
@@FreeBeat I think you just load the clips in as pads like sample chops or drums. I think it's exactly the same. All you need choose is if you want it mono, poly, 1 shot or not etc.
Well done I think you did a great job of explaining the basics. I learnt something too: I’d forgotten about the shortcut to bring up the piano roll and I’ve had mine for a year.
If you press the browse button and select "places" you can click on your SD card and load samples that way. I'll add a video to the list though, thanks!
Not sure how you wound up with an entire song on one program, but you should be able to use the pad mute section to mute individual pads. Hoping I'm understanding that right.
So, you created a 1 bar loop. Great. Now how do you create an actual track. A track has many many bars. I'm still trying to understand how to create more than just a loop with the mpc.
Right, this was just a tutorial for that first session :) Going past that really depends on how you want to work. I recommend either doubling the length of your pattern and then changing a few steps in the back half, or copying the originally pattern into a new one, and then changing steps in the new one. You can start to build ideas from there!
After 1 year I have so many cool tunes started on MPC One, but have yet to complete a full track! So much learning still to do.. Anyone have the same experience?
ok thanks i just layered my first set of beats .Not great but i got the basic principle Thank god for youtube or i would have to write this all down in block capitals .My writing is terrible and my memory is even worse
Which plug-in do you have selected? It sounds like you might also be a little low on your octave range. Either hold shift and press 16 levels (to access the "notes") section, and set the octave to a little higher, or switch to a higher bank by using the bank selection buttons on the right hand side.
@@FreeBeat cheers man.. seems to work when I change the default on the effect screen I think it's program edit... thanks for the help man I'll have more little small queries in the future if you don't mind.. or I could be there for days and not find the answer 😂 as I have done in the past 👍
@@FreeBeat the bank isn't doing anything and when I go to the 16 levels and change the octive it works fine .. but when I get back to the main to change to pre set its . Eather nothing or just a noteless low sound :/
I didn’t get it? Where is the jam? This video shows how to start a song, develop idea but I eas expecting to ser how to record live jam like you do it in a regular DAW…
It's definitely not for everyone haha. I wound up developing a real struggling relationship with mine until I recently just starting using it as a designated "drum sample player" haha.
