    I ordered a Ferro 1/2 pocket Kangaroo pouch and threw it into the admin pouch. I also bought one and slipped it in between the front flap and the carrier itself. Along with another one in front of the magazine pouches. I also went with the 7.62/.308 elastic mag pouches and bought Esstac thermold inserts. It allows me to run AK mags, AR-10 PMags along with AR-15 PMags and they lock fairly securely. My biggest concern was the 5.56 mags possibly falling out, so far so good, I haven't had any issues. I'd say my biggest issue as of right now is that my AR-10 PMags are fairly stiff and difficult to get in and out of the mag pouches. Especially once you get all 3 in there, once you get 1 out then it becomes increasingly easier. I also have a double pistol mag pouches tucked into the front flap with Esstac thermold inserts, it makes it easier to run whatever magazine that you want. I've ran 1911 mags, 9mm Glock mags (i.e. 17,19,19X/45) and Glock 20/21 mags (which are also fairly stiff to get out. I really wish that the DOPE front flap had that 4 way stretch material to allow it to flex a little bit more.

      Good info. This is the exact reason for the quick change flaps though. Individual setups for specific load outs. Granted, it basically doubles the cost. There’s never a 100% solution.

    Seems to be a nice carrier, but I wonder how all this stretch material everyone's gone so loco over lately will stand the test of time. Especially everyone that just wants a carrier for worst case scenarios. I've seen what the elastic in socks & boxers look like after storage for decent periods of time. Just a random thought that keeps me from falling too hard for this new Ultra high speed kit...

    • @ConditionOneGroup
      @ConditionOneGroup  2 года назад +1

      We're way late on this response, sorry for that, but you bring up some valid concerns. elastic will always wear out over time. The benefit it creates is the reduction in bulk, everything fits very snuggly. Even with the elastic, you're looking at years of use before it wears out. There are no perfect solutions for anything in this world. Equipment like this is considered expendable, sooner or later it will need to be replaced.

    So how does the velcro on the shoulders hold up? I heard of Ferros having problems when they get dirty or muddy. Any failures?

    • @ConditionOneGroup
      @ConditionOneGroup  4 года назад +5

      None so far, it's been raining all week and I've been rolling in the mud with it. That is an inherent problem with velcro though, regardless of manufacturer. Mud will make velcro not stick to itself, but this is also not a problem if the hook is already attached to the loop side before it gets muddy.
      Remember, there are only a few manufacturers for all of the components that get used in all of your tactical equipment, so companies like Ferro, Crye, Spiritus, etc. are all just buying the same materials and sewing them together at their facilities.

      @@88kar88 Ferro sells the covers for the shoulder straps (as I mention in the video, they should come with the carrier but oh well). I would recommend the normal ones and not the padded ones which are pretty much just 'sock' made from 4 way stretch tweave. I've never seen a need for a ton of padding on the shoulder straps anyways but the padded ones they offer are really large.

      Vinchye Paciano the size of the carrier depends on the size of your plates. So with medium sized plates (10”x12”) you’d want a medium plate carrier.

    no offense but i find it interesting you skipped showing the installation of the female cobra buckle attaching into the front bag flap which is what im having extreme difficulty installing and it seems like no one reviewing this plate carrier wants to talk about, you have to have extreme gripping and prying power to get the flap through the female kobra's opening.
