From a Marine who was out of kit for 15 years prior to getting into the MilSim thing with my son…I’ve seen the kits completely change. With the new, more minimalistic stuff, I tried and found out that different things work when running in a weekend long MilSim event and some others don’t. Using your kit in real world application as this guy says is key.
Ferro is a great company put im still running my def mech MEPC as a civilian security contractor and I love that. Now that I've seen how you run that drag handle there are like 1000 videos on it but no one actually shows it I know its commen since but still im gonna run one now and geep and stow it like you do
One thing I wish Ferro would fix. Is the flap that holds the plates in place. It’s one small piece of Velcro in the middle, and if you are running a dangler It’s constantly sagging.
I know this comment is months old, but I found a way to fix that. First disassemble the PC and turn the front and rear bags inside out. On either side of the elastic strip, on the nylon, on the body facing side of the bag, I placed 2 1.5inx3in adhesive-backed hook velcro strips. Do this for the front and rear bags. Then, take maybe 8-10in of 1in one wrap velcro and attach it to that hook velcro on the front bag, place your plates in and tuck the flap in. Run the one wrap out the bottom, across the bottom of the flap, and attach it to the placard loop velcro area on the front. This functionality acts as the inner plate strap in other carriers. On the rear carrier, the steps are the same, except the one wrap will run over the plate flap and I wove it into the molle on the back of the rear bag. It's probably easier to do this first, then run it inside the bag and attach it to the hook velcro. This does take more time to setup, but it fixes the problems of the plates sliding out of position during movement and stretching when adding dangler pouches. If you're planning to do this on a FCPC you use for duty, I recommend also adding a nylon or plastic specific bonding glue to the adhesive on the velcro so it doesn't separate. I didn't do it on mine, but I've had no issues as of yet.
I’m surprised you didn’t take about the Velcro on the inside of the plate bag. I can’t reliably run abdominal pouches or my role one in them. They did a great job on this plate carrier, but they definitely messed up the Velcro in the plate bag. Better out there.
@@oriontraininggroupllc2782 theyre releasing a v6? i thought on their story they said they arent going to make any more because they have a shit ton of money now. unless they meant other than the fcpc gens
Love the fcpc but it has no means for pontoons or qore vents, how hard would it be to just buy some Velcro on the plate bags? Also the vertical molle for the qasm clips they would switch to the hybrid molle like arbor is doing on their carrier for more flexibility and would cost nothing as it would just be extra laser cuts, lastly maybe first spear fringe cuts like arbor has to save even more weight and one less layer behind the placard, maybe a little more cable management too like dynamic principles and elastic organizer inside the admin pocket like the JPC, haha
Hey Jared, question on IFAKs for ya. I am looking for a good kit for my patrol vest. It’s the Oregon City style so not quite a traditional plate carrier. Whats your thoughts on placement for comfort in a patrol vehicle, etc? I love the idea of Ferro’s roll one but I’m not sure how it would work with the cut of a patrol vest ie: being lower/less space on the back as well as comfort while in a vehicle. Thanks for all you do!
Hi guys! love all your videos. i'm considering right now on buying a Crye CPC or Ferro FCPC V5. Can you guys give me an opinion on which one should I get? but to be honest my mind is going on the Ferro side lol. I'm a big person so don't know which one will suit me most between CPC and FCPC V5. I'm planing to get a full set in Multicam color. PS. looking forward to watch your new contents, Love and peace from Thailand!
Have you ever had issues with sizing the shoulder straps? I feel Iike if spent hours on mine trying to get them sized perfectly and have always had issues with feeling fatigue on one side versus the other. I just ordered another mini buckle so hopefully it will eliminate that issue sit it will sit the same in both sides
The shoulder straps could use a revision. Velcro doesn’t run all the way down the rear plate straps and if you’re not super yoked, you’ll prob have to see Velcro and cut down the tail of the straps.
@@oriontraininggroupllc2782 yeah seems like cause of the ring it sits different on my shoulder compared to the qd side. I kinda always just dealt with it but hopefully with having qds on both sides it will fix the issue.
I have a kit from ferro with their plates. It’s comfy, breathes pretty well (I’m in AZ) but I did add the AXL big boy shoulder pads and holy shit I can wear that thing allll day. That is all bye
I know Ferro said they were looking into having side plates integrated with the soft armor, but for now did you try the carrier with side plates and notice if the "penguin hug" support was significantly lacking or did the cumberbund still give a decent amount of structural support keeping weight off the shoulders?
Plates weigh a lot more and are about 1/3-1/2 the length of soft armor. It’s not the same. Great system still, but I’m only speaking about the soft armor in the video.
First one of your videos I've watched and really enjoyed it, very informative, definitely won't be the last. I came hoping to find out what plates you're running. I've recently got a large FCPC and am struggling to get plates and IIIA backers to fit properly. The flap barely closes on the rear bag and it seems like it's just going to pop open, especially with my roll 1 tucked in as well.
I did a lot of the same stuff to mine. I made a tegris insert to mount my ptt where you did and I also used rubber tube and wrapped it in a cordura sleeve for my drag handle.
Can tou tell me your height and weight. So i can get an idea if i should run medium or large carrier and medium or large plates. Im 5'7 155lbs broad shoulders. Th

Some of it is on Ferro’s page. We don’t teach it open enrollment due to liability and insurance issues, and we don’t film much agency/dept training, so there’s no videos just on breaching so far.
I have been looking at the plate bags for conventional infantry. have you had any experience with the Wingman attachment for extra mags on the sides of the front plate bag? I don’t get comms, I don’t carry a sidearm, I just want to be able to upscale this to run as much ammo as possible

Please can you demonstrate in full kit, in a CQB setting, how to tactically cook an omelette in case the homies get hungry?

Companies call it hook and loop because Velcro is trade marked and they dont want to get sued...
