Miguel's EM1 is what I aspire my FBP EM1 build to be, super clean and functional. I also just redid the shifter setup and noted the B18 and B16 shift rod differences. I remove my retention pin a bit differently (check ot my video) which works better for me lying on my back.. I am still running the old K-tuned style shifter (came with the car) but I plan to upgrade down the line, and perhaps install the Tyrannosaur Tightener too! Great content!
by far the easiest way to get the pin out is an air hammer with an anvil specifically designed to fit the Honda shift linkage spring pin. I've used mine a few times, and the step design makes it super easy both for removal and installation, if you needed to put the pin back in. Quick squeeze of the air hammer trigger and it's out. Another quick squeeze and it's back in again.
Well unfortunately it didn’t work out for me. My shift linkage had no play to begin with. The side to side shifter play was in the transmission selector rod itself. The Tightener made no change. And because of interference with the rubber boot on the selector rod, I trimmed it but now it’s open and I’m concerned about road grime getting to that seal. So now I’ll have to source another shift linkage to put it back to stock.
damn this makes me want to get my DA up and going, but cant since im in the military and heading to japan around christmas time, maybe one day i will be able to work on it and get this B18b1 rebuilt
I want to believe this upgrade is better but I kinda have my doubt on it. I think if you get a brand new shift linkage it will feel the same way. 🤷🏻♂️ maybe I’m wrong lol.
I had the PLM version of this, and it didn't work. No matter how much you tightened it down on the shift rod on the transmission, it would still slip when you moved the shifter side-to-side in gear.
Hey guys, i got this same shifter, but it rattles alot when im going into higher RPM. I'm using hardened Shifter bushings and this shifter? is this a known issue? How to fix it?
I know this is a super old post, I had the same high RPM rattles what I did was lube all the bushings with grease heavy it worked for me no more rattles.

Miguel's Si is nice covered in nice with several servings of nice on the side. I've already watch twice. Absolutely the best Honda channel on YT.
Wow, thank you!
@@ahcgarage You're very welcome.
Best shifter combo right there. I was able to grab an RFAB shifter plate for the Hybrid Racing. That got rid of one the stabilizer shifter bars.
Good choice!
Saturday is for the boys

You will be there!!
Thanks Mike i wish i saw this couple years ago
Nice little mod for the shifter linkage. I have a question about the steering wheel you guys have installed. What brand wheel is that?
Hell yeah! Good stuff!
Love that steering wheel , what's it called ?

New linkage will still have the play due to the design.

Looks a good quality product and it does what it says on the tin, what more can you ask for 👌😎👍 John UK.

Interesting, we did not encounter any noise or issue with our setup
@@ahcgarage if needed, i can send a video, to show you how it rattles at higher rpm.
