- When you have a lady friend over to your house, it's nice to be able to offer her a drink. But it's even better to know how to craft her an elegant cocktail.
The stereotype is that women just like sweet "girly drinks" with no real dimension of flavor--just a bunch of sugar to cover up the alcohol. But I think women are a little more complicated--and sophisticated--than that.
In this video, I show you how to make 3 cocktails that women absolutely love. All of these drinks taste amazing, but even more than that, they allow for some showmanship on your part (which makes the experience fun for both of you). Best of all, these 3 drinks are unique since they all stimulate multiple senses beyond just taste.

I love Mojitos and Cosmos the most, but I also enjoy Margaritas, Mimosas, and Sangria. I like drinking Chocolate martinis on Valentine's Day, it reminds me of the Rum Chocolate Cordials my dad would bring me when I was a kid. The way my husband makes the chocolate martinis really tastes like the chocolate cordials my dad would bring me. 😊😘

Kyle, I found that the best way to get the juice out of a mint is to make tiny cuts in a stem. That will help release more juice. Your cosmo drink is amazing!

The best thing to do is to get to know the woman and her tastes
Because my lady does not like minty or lemony drinks. It has taken me quite a while to build her cocktail taste profile but once you figure it out you'll both be very happy you did! have fun, good luck

Thanks, but I prefer my Heineken or some White Zinfandel. I think that a good girly cocktail is London Dry Gin with cranberry juice, that one is very nice.

Anyone know why he shook the gin in the French 75 instead of stirring? As in was there an actual reason for it or did he just decide to shake that one lol
Lemon juice. Juices are traditionally shaken to force them to mix with the liquor - stirring is for mixing different types of alcohol, like vermouth and whiskey.

@@frostiesr345 So, for a Gin Martini, there is no need to shake it, at a minimum - there are also reasons why stirring a Martini is preferable to shaking. Gin is a clear alcohol infused with a fruit (juniper), but it's a far cry from actual fruit juices - the juniper flavor is dissolved in the gin and will not settle out. Leave a glass of fresh squeezed juice out for any significant time, and you'll see it separate... that's why juice drinks are commonly shaken.
The reasons stirring is so good for martinis? Mouth feel is better since you don't get ice chips floating in the glass, and you have less risk of watering the drink down by overdoing it with the shaker set. As for bruising the gin, I don't know if that's a valid reason or an old wives tale. How can a fruit be bruised when it's an infusion in liquid?

A better approach may be to ask her what she likes and what you like, then make a cocktail together

Chandra, sorry for the late reply. Simple syrup is just a sweetener that you can make in your kitchen--just combine 1 part water and 1 part sugar and mix until it disolves
