India is a very diverse country with various facial features and skin tones, some Indians especially the North Indians ( Not all) look like Europeans. The North is very different from the South and the Northeast is very very different from the both North and the South. People from the Northeast have East Asian and Southeast Asian facial features along with the skin tone. I bet if they would have called a Northeast Indian guy or a girl in their video, 99.9% of the people would have unable to guess his/her nationality because of the looks, people could easily mistaken them for Chinese, Korean, Japanese etc😅. There's no such thing as Indian-Indian. Indian, previously it was(or may be it still is) an umbrella term for people and different ethnicities of Indian Subcontinent(aka South Asia, or India) but now it's more like a nationality of Republic of India. It's not an ethnicity in itself as Indian/Korean guy sayin Indian-Indian. All Indians are either Punjabi-Indian, Gujarati-Indian, Awadhi-Indian, Tamil-Indian, Mizo-Indian, and so on but not Indian-Indian.
I'm saddened that she identifies as part Puerto Rican while knowing absolutely nothing about the culture.....not even the stereotype (loud and talk fast, etc.). Absolutely nobody says, "tropical" to describe us. Her answers reflect that she is 100% Americanized.
Ethnicity is not the same as Nationality. A lot of Indians and Pakistanis have the same ethnic and cultural background if you exclude religion. But then again, even within India and Pakistan, there are lots of different ethnicities, so it is not as simple as "Indian" or "Pakistani" if we are talking about anything more than nationality. But I would still say "South Asian" is a very distinct and unique identity, so throwing a really wide net in this case means you might find someone who has enough things in common with the general populace of the 5-6 countries that fall under it.
Punjabis are Indians as well but "Indian" is an ethnicity that also includes Punjab and Sindh in Pakistan (excluding Baloch and Pashtun), Nepal, Bengal, and Sri Lanka. Bharat calling itself India just makes things confusing. Kinda like if Germany started calling itself Europe.
