  • I found that If I could transfer the load fast enough you could start something on one generator. And run it with another that burns less fuel. This would work even better for large fans or electric motors that can run constantly. That need a huge surge to start.

Cool idea! One thing I would change is to find a switch that would transfer the hot and neutral at the same time so the neutral on the big generator plug has no electrical potential when unplugged. This would be a big issue if using a small inverter generator as I have found they don't produce a "hot" of 120V and a neutral at 0V but rather 2 hot legs of 60V in oscillation to produce 120V.

I learned something new today. That's a bit scary. To have 60 volts on the end of a plug.
Amazingly enough this one does disconnect both neutral and the common !!!! I found 3 of them on eBay for 45 dollars. But they're 70 dollars from hubbell. It's some industrial switch for electric motors.

@@kennethclifford1863 I was looking up starting loads for big drum fans. 2100-watts. But only 450 running watts. Also. Their competition makes One of those switches. for less than 30 bucks. I just wanted a made In the USA one was all. Supposedly the new ones from hubbell are made in China
