For a more silky look because your hair is really thick try deep conditioning before to get it as soft as possible. When you blow dry try to get it as straight as possible and use a brush to make sure it’s blowed out enough. When you flat iron because you have so much hair flat iron it in smaller sections.

Haha if not then oh I didn't know what I was doing tbh lol 😂 & my hair gets super tangly if I leave it to dry in it's curly state even when twisted! But i love that you can do that 😇 also thank you sm for watching I appreciate it!

your hair is hair goals! 😍 i pray when i do my silk press next month it’s your length. the only suggestion i would have for a more straightened silk press is making sure you blow dry to the point that you hair is as “straight” as it can possibly get, then go in with the straightener. it’ll be less work during the flat ironing process. i would also suggest a small dime size amount of a silk serum on each section! you can find them for an affordable price. i use the silk elements like from sally beauty for my silk process routine.

I would say it’s the heat protector you use is what helps to get that “ bone straight “ I do love using that heat protector but it is not heavy enough so you would have to find another heat protector to go along with it. A more heavier one like a serum. You want to put in when your hair is wet before you blow dry. And try to not dry your hair too much after washing it because you want to also seal in that moisture when you blow dry it. Just a tip for whenever the next time you decide to straighten your hair again. Products is always key 😉 ~ stylist here 🙋‍♀️

I would use Revair to avoid high heat during blow dry process. I just started using revair 2months ago & my hair looks alot like yours when done blow drying. I got the Grip Comb and a new titanium flat iron from Deeper Than Hair but still working the nerve up to use flat iron. I went to a natural hair salon 4yrs ago where they used a flat iron & prior to that i hadnt used any heat for 4yrs. I was natural all my life until 10th grade & then went back natural for past 10yrs. 🎉

Beautiful results. 💕 If you want to go with this bone-straight look, the product and blow-drying technique is key. I've been using the Revair for a year now, and it is amazing. I make sure not to blow dryer my hair super dry because I want the moisture to stay in my hair. I blow dry on high heat for the product to penetrate the hair and then blast with cool air when it's almost dry to lock in the moisture. I do this prior to adding heat protectant on wet hair. For the straightening process, I use the Tymo Ring Hot Comb. The highest setting is 415° which is enough to get my hair straightened. I do 2 passes at the roots and 1 pass for the rest of my hair.

I always snip off my natural hair; or have a lot of shedding, after braids. I think I am gonna give it a rest. Braids are just too heavy for my hair, and literally pulls it out of the roots. Your natural hair is beautiful. I don't let anyone tell me when to or not to cut my hair. I don't believe what everyone says. I just cut when I see damage, or when I want a trim. A lot of cutting is not necessary, and defeats the purpose. Plus, you know, there are the haters who cut out of jealousy.

Merry Christmas, lil sis.🎄Thanks for showing us your amazing hair care. I think the trick with the spray heat protectant when you intend to flat iron is to use the water based spray before you blow dry. Then if you decide to do another between the blow dryer and flat iron (which I do) use a serum without water in it so you don't lose any of the blow dried straightness. You had to use more heat and passes with your flat iron because your hair wasn't that straight when you started. An oldy but a goody is Chi Silk Infusion. There are lots that are water-free that are good though. Enjoy your holiday hair!

I recommend getting a titanium plated flat iron. Also you want to get a leave in, heat protectant, and serum. I use the bed head ego boost, Silk elements olive heat protection spray, and paul mitchell skinney serum ( cheaper dupe - Frizz Be Gone super smoothing anti frizz hair serum). Apply those three products to the hair while wet. Blow dry as straight as possible and flat iron thin sections.

Yes I agree, with your trimming schedule I usually clip my ends once a year unless I need an extra trim. This year I didn’t have much split ends but I had some knots so I took off like 2 inches but it’s still super long. I wear a blunt cut cuz I wear my hair curly most the year. But your hair is beautiful! It took me 4 hours to wash, deep condition, blow dry and straighten mine! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 your so funny, let me gone and subscribe!
I think for a silkier press you should shampoo 2 to 3 times, deep condition with protein for like 30 mins, apply a dime size amount of heat protection, then blow dry it in small sections to get it as straight as you can and then add add a tiny bit more heat protection then straighten it in smaller sections, comb each section before trying the chase method. I use the tymo hair straightening comb (the new hot comb with a guard on it) and it gets my hair very straight. I got over my roots twice then down the length of my hair once and slowly. And I use it on 410 degrees

  • @ReggieMaya96

I would say do a little more heat protectant before the blow dry and work longer to straighten it through the blow dry. The blow dry is a THE base. Personally I blow dry on low heat low speed to dry it then briefly on high speed medium heat to really knock the curl out. Then you put a little less heat protectant on or none at all before straightening. And I straighten my hair on 370 and I have areas that are 3b/c and 4a. Also comb your hair in its small section to make sure you don’t have any tangles right before you add the flat iron THEN start the chase method and go a slow. Not leaving it in one section too long but take your time. Don’t rush. It takes me around 2 hours from blow dry to completion. Sometimes I trim my straight hair as I go then I do an over all trim at the very end

Your hair doesn't grow longer from trimming. Your hair grows longer just because you're alive 🩷 You probably retained a lot of the length that your hair grew AS you were consistently trimming ( which is okay, it's not bad at all - just someone's personal preference ) So it can seem like trims help w/ growth but really it just maintains healthy ends 😌

Hello, I think the problem are the products you used. Normally you should clarify your hair, then use a smoothing deep conditionner, something with keratin and hydrolized wheat protein to smooth and protect fro, the protein loss that causes breakage and heat damage during straightening. Also just use a blow dry cream like that chi silk infusion, tressemmé spray or other. No oil or cream. After straightening it you can put any oil you want focusing on the ends as your ends will rub on clothes etc. It will help reduce split ends.

GIRL SMH !! I'm like how ?! It's the 3rd time I've ever done this. Now I have 3 spots on my head with hair that's like 4-6inches long 🤣😩 oh the pain

You need a better blowdry process. If you can, get the revair! If not, make sure you blow dry the hair a straight as possible, then when you flatiron, you shouldn't need to go above 400F.
But beautiful results anyway. Long, healthy, and thick is all that matters.

Thanks for watching & congrats on 1st comment ! 🥳 My fav Oils are - Amla Oil, & Castor Oil. The secret to long hair is length retention! The longer you can leave your hair alone, the longer it can grow ! 🫱🏾‍🫲🏼

@@amytarie. I have a castor and jojoba oil blend but it doesn’t moisturize my hair for very long. Also I applied it too often and suffocated my pores 😅. Now I know to apply less often now lol
