The actor playing Ezra is an example of perfect casting visually
His voice is great. He is a faaaar better Ezra than Aladdin
And in general. I read something a while ago about how when you transfer a character from animation to live action you have to be a little more energetic and expressive to match that energy, and while the series is hit or miss on that Esfandi gets it. He's got all of Ezra's mannerisms down.
@@djsugarbear6715 Those are 2 different actors my guy
@@nomisunrider6472he’s also one of the only ones who was a legit fan boy and was caught up with the clone wars and rebels. I feel like the live action actors who didn’t watch the entirety of rebels (Rosario, may Elizabeth, etc) just didn’t get the tone of the characters perfectly. Especially hera
He looks just like the animated version of his father from Rebels. I enjoyed it when seeing his beard made Ahsoka laugh knowing how young he was the last time they saw each other. I wonder if he'll keep it in season 2?
Columbian Dancing Powder is the greatest thing I have ever heard...
I just love how Rosario basically straight stunted on all those naysayers saying she was too stoic. Post-Anakin trial, she's much closer to Clone Wars Ahsoka. It's almost as if it was Filoni's plan all along.
It's wild to me that people are too impatient to see character development in progress in an 8 episode series. It was always clear to me that that's where she was going, but even some of my creative friends who should know better fell prey to that mentality.
And also like its not wrong for a person to act differently from how they were as teenagers. The transition from Clone Wars to Rebels was more jarring to me, honestly, because at the time we didn't have the bridge of season 7 to show her becoming that more mature, measured person while she dealt with the aftermath of leaving the order.
Thrawn is really cautious when comes to Ahsoka because she was Anakin's apprentice, and he knew Anakin as Darth Vader, and Thrawn fears Vader
Thrawn does not fear vader, he respects him
Thrawn does not fear vader, he respects him
Thrawn knows that Akakin/Vader was unpredictable, which Thrawn really doesn't understand or like, and he figures Ahsoka is as well.
Thrawn told Vader, *to his face*, that he’d come up with three different ways to kill the dark lord after spending most of a novel repeatedly pointing out he was also well aware of the whole Anakin thing. And Vader let him live with what passes for respect in sithville. Thrawn is cautious with Ashoka because he worked with Anakin in the clone wars, knows how much of a mad lad he was and assumes that as Ashoka is still alive she’s probably picked up a few of Anakin’s old habits along the way. Plus Thrawn knows full well he doesn’t need to deal with this Jedi nonsense any more than necessary as the mission is to get back ‘home’. Their deaths, while a bonus, don’t directly benefit him as much as having an extra trooper squad or two will.
Thrawn's weakness is that he fear the Force. Its something he can't plan ahead for, with all his strategic mind games.
The fact that he's now employing Nightsister magick into his arsenal shows that he can also adapt very quickly.
Ezra: the force is my ally.
Yoda: And a powerful ally it is.
I just want to take a moment and mention: you guys have been doing this for 6 years, have over 1600 videos, and almost 150k subscribers. What an accomplishment! I'm so thankful that you're part of my week every week. Thanks for the smiles every week 🎉
Loving operation firehose, very sorry about your cat Adam, hope you guys are doing good
I like to think that Ezra snuck aboard the Chimera every now and then just to chill in some vents.
Thrawn finding out Anakin was Ahsoka's master was such a good moment because whatever thought he had about her he instantly had to change it.
The fact that Ezra uses enough force to block her blade that it warps the blade in two places as the energy is being stretched! 😲
I wouldn't call Baylon a villain. He's not a Sith. Exceptional character. Legend actor.
You don't have to be a sith to be a villain. And he did play an integral part in Thrawn's return and by proxy a galaxy wide war. And let's not forget his true motivation is his pursuit of power. His desire is to become the most powerful being EVER.
@@Mike-gz4tj He's trying to stop the repetition of wars by gaining the power to stop it. He views himself as righteous and depending on your view of the galaxy he could be very right in his pursuit.
@@dafreak117Antagonist I think is the word you are looking for. He is an antagonist to the Asoka show and character, which doesn't necessarily make him a villain. You can be opposed to someone in action and motivation and not be "evil." It is just his path clashes with Asoka and crew. To him he is on the path to fix things, just as Asoka wants to preserve things.
“He’s not dark!!”, well he does murder people so…
“Flurry of Force Blows, what’s up nerds?!” What a fucking sentence Jay.
Could you imagine Grogu and the turtle people together 😂 too much cuteness and probably a bad baby again
Omg stop I can’t! I think my heart would explode. Why did I never think about that? They’d be best friends immediately. They’d tolerate his huggs. And Fin would be so confussd and Ezra would love it.
lol om nom nom nom nom crab people
Ezra going full force monk was a great moment! Also saw a breakdown that revealed that his chain mail is made from Strom trooper ID tags, gives more meaning to why Thrawn is so cautious when dealing with him
I saw that too. It took me a bit to warm up to his action, but it grew on me once I saw that that wasn’t the limit of his skill in ep8.
that is hardcore
Yeah that breakdown was crap. He's not wearing armor made of trooper tags. That doesn't even make sense for the character. People just talk out their butts and report it as facts.
The fucking detail in Ezra using the force to block Shin Hati's saber... and her blade warping.... dope af
Ha, Jay is the first person I’ve heard have the same reaction to Ahsoka’s landing that I did: that weird, hesitant, “That CGI looked funky” thought before shrugging it off and falling right back into the adventure. Love it!
To many reactors and viewers focus on the technology of shows and that's why they don't enjoy anything and nitpick constantly. So what...the cgi is off by 10% I grew up watching Godzilla when I knew it was a man in a suit I still enjoyed it and didn't constantly criticize it. It's called suspension of belief maybe y'all need to go back to it.
In case you guys didnt know...the actor playing Enoch is Wes Chatham(Amos) from The Expanse. :D
The Hobbitcrabs are adorable
"Hobbitcrab" *chef's kiss*
Gotta give kudos to Lars for managing to subtly show an "oh shit" look on his face the moment he wrote the report and who Ahsoka's Master is, all without managing to break character. That's talent. Remember back in season 1 of rebels when Kanan told Ezra that having a lightsaber does not make one a Jedi, I think it's safe to say Ezra has officially reached that point
Oh yeah that was amaxing. And I totally agree. And Ahsoka tells Sabine the same thing in the finale.
@@madelinegarber7860 yup.
That’s why I love you guys. It didn’t even occur to me that hey, hope Ahsoka made a copy of her masters lectures FOR HIS OWN DAMN SON. But yeah, I do hope ESPECIALLY AFTER THE FINALE she made copies for Luke so he can know what Jedi Ani was like
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the reaction! Chopper was ready to cut someone! C3PO is always a win!
For Ezra, reflavor Sun Soul monks with force damage instead of radiant damage, and then given them a qi point option similar to the repelling blast Eldritch invocation, or just the telekinetic feat. His first couple levels should be in rogue and druid or ranger though.
I'm so sorry for the poor actor who has to replace Ray Stevenson, no matter who it will be.
4:20 we as the audience know but they don't know the full story. 99% of the galaxy have never interacted with a jedi. Luke is a fairy tale. Remember they said the Jedi were traitors and people believed it because they don't know any better.
When Jay said "Taking off the readers like. . ." All i could think of was John Malkovich in Hitchhiker's guide. When Humna Kavula takes off his glasses and those were his eyes
For some extra trivia, that one guy who was really against Hera, Xiono, is actually the father of Kazuda (Kaz) Xiono from the show Star Wars Resistance! It's really not my personal favorite at all just because it was mostly just racing and fixing stuff and felt like it lacked the stuff Star Wars normally has, but I guess it's canon because of that connection!
FOR ANYONE WHO IS AN EXPANSE FAN: the actor inside Captain Enoch is none other than Wes Chatham , aka AMOS BURTON, aka MurderSnuggles
I love how mon mothma stands up for C3PO, Showing respect. Shes such a great leader. I love Mothma.
Jay is the first reactor I’ve seen (and I’ve watched every reaction to this show I can find) who saw what I saw in the cgi when Ahsoka jumped out of the ship. It looked weird. But it was the only, *single* spot in the whole show I thought the cgi was anything other than spectacular.
And even then, I'm convinced it's more of the speed/movement of that one little slide that jumps out as us as being out of place
The boxes contain ancient Dathmiry warriors known for bringing peril wherever they went. They were called the Jeopardy Masters!
Ezra took some levels in Monk.
Are we just not gonna acknowledge the blatant reference to Mando s3? That made me happy. Thrawn’s oh shit look when he learned who Ahsoka’s master was was very justified. He knew both Anakin and Bader and worked with both of them. And feared them. And Ezra kicking ass with only the force was pretty cool too. And we love Ahsoka being a little sassy again and bantering with Huyang. Her reunion with Ezra made me so happy.
I was confused at first thinking you meant Baylan, and somehow completely forgot about Vader.
I am so grateful for project fire hose! Missed you guys! And like how great is David Tennant’s Huyang?!
Sam Regal's (Critical Role, Legend of Vox Machina) wife was the director of photography for Ashoka and Sam played one of the Stormtroopers
i kinda wanted the noti to be happy little mad max psychos, like "MY BLOOD IS GASOLINE!!!" and "WITNESS ME!!!" :P xx
::watches Balan kill a dozen new republic soldiers::
"HES NOT DARK"
Well, Sabine saying, "thats what people say," about the Emperor is because this was before the sequel trilogies. So kind of a, thats how we explain him still living in those movies.
Read on another channel that Ray has a brother that could take his place maybe.
Are you guys open to requests for shows to react to?
(I have a option: note: DON'T BE QUICK TO JUDGE IT ISN'T A KIDS SHOW ANYMORE)
I love you guys as reactors, but I feel like rebels should still be watched to give this whole show more context. Plus it has key Star Wars lore, but like I said still love you guys
These are all long-passed filming. They had been through S1 of Rebels by this episode
@@alexkramerblogs True, but there's alot more in the rebels that Ahsoka directly builds from. Which I know Jay and Adam would love.
@@GeekyLifter absolutely! Well, at least Adam had seen it all previously
Given a Monk's abilities, add in Force powers, and the Force does come out of your feet.
20:50 gotta pull out the Beauregard favorite and Stunning Strike ya on this one Jay, as America didn't invent the gun. The creation of gunpowder dates back to 850 China and the first guns where used by the Mongols. There's even artwork of Medieval knights using muskets on the battlefield centuries before the self appointed "puritans" threw England's biggest hissy fit and ran away from their problems. Ironic that America's national anthem includes the words "home of the brave" knowing that, isn't it?
Until such a time as when mass shootings are a just a black spot in history books, no American has any right to be proud of guns.
Does The Ghost have a dashcam? Sure, Chopper just turns it off every now and again…….don’t ask why.
I love y'all, but pretending the sequels don't exist is just silly. Especially when shows like Mando have been tying into them. It's also odd to hate on movies (especially TLJ since it's the only good sequel IMO, crazy I know) you barely watched one time.
6:48... How goddamned good does Hayden look as Clone Wars Anakin!
There's got to be some way we can get some live action Clone Wars aside from flashbacks in other shows. As extensive as Clone Wars was there's gotta be some stuff Obi-Wan and Anakin did that we haven't seen. How about like a Clone Wars: The Lost Missions or some shit like that? Just a limited series, even like 6 episodes would do... get some old school Obi-Wan and Anakin!
I cannot understand why so many people did not like this show.
because two women are the main characters
@@daurydavis3983 So? It’s not like it’s trash like the sequels. This is actually great.
I liked it. However, I found the Anakin Ashoka chat I the world between worlds completely out of place with the story.
@@blafonovision4342 they're not trash though
@@christoperwallace6197 it was right in there with CW and Rebels. I thought it was absolutely necessary.
Hera devoted her life to making the Republic. She fought and lost many people including the person she loved to fight the Empire and make this Republic a thing. Her place in it matters to her. Not sure how you don't get that.
My joke throughout this part was that Ezra had married one of the Noti (the hermit crab folk) and I've been dismayed to find no reaction channels making the same joke.
Notice the first fight between ashoka and baylin. The one who is impatient and looses discipline wins. What did Anikin bestow on Ashoka God level discipline
I get that Hera is a main character and we want to side with her, especially since she’s ultimately correct, but I think it’s important to consider things from the other side.
Imagine if a US general explicitly disobeyed orders from the senate, requisitioned a fighter squadron to chase down a rogue warlord that they have a vendetta against and is assumed dead, lost several of those fighters and then claimed that the person who helped them do it swam away in the mouth of a whale.
They wouldn’t be a general for much longer, for many reasons.
Baylan doesn't seem evil but does have an 'the ends justify the means' aura around him. He will do what he needs to do to survive and complete his personal mission.
The crab people are called Noti. You can see that if you turn on captions.
I would love any and all New Republic shows and movies to have C3PO as the envoy for Princess Leia. That way she can still be involved in the stories, without a CGI Carrie Fisher, and it implies that Leia has no time for this political bullshit, and sends in her droids to set them straight.
I call those little guys E-rocks. 😊
Chopper's outrage at the "mere droid" comment really got me.
As great as so many other parts of this episode are, it's the beginning that brought tears to my eyes. Princess Leia, saving the day again, by bending/breaking rules that need to be bent and broken, and taking down an overstuffed shirt a notch.
Baylan is looking for Arbeloth...
That's my theory too
Did... you sing rathorse to the tune of Dr Horrible? ;)
FYI (don’t know if you already learned this on Discord or not but) - Senator Xiono (the weenie) is already a part of the Star Wars Universe. He’s in a (not fantastic) kids’ show that crosses over with the Sequel films in a pretty major way. So this is just more of Filoni slowly connecting the Mandoverse to the sequel worlds.
I love the Samurai feel of the music and the sound design I’d phenomenal.
At this point the Sith, the Jedi, they’ve all fallen into legend. The general public doesn’t know the son of Vader is a Jedi and that he saved them all. They don’t think there are anymore Jedi, they have heard stories, but no one has seen one themselves. Ahsoka is a trained member of the military for all people know.
They constantly fail to realize that just because the viewer knows about something that the ones in the show don't.
Hm I kinda like the idea of Mon Mothma finally standing up to Xiono in that moment, instead of 3PO. But I have a feeling Mon Mothma's badass moment is coming sometime next season or even the movie, like a slow build....
Force Monk Ezra was amazing, Thrawn was amazing.. really everything about this series has been amazing, including the reactions!
Just realized Ezra said, I think I might be going home after all. He didn't say WE, he said I. Very interesting, he felt his path back, but didn't realize he didn't feel their path back yet.
this running bit of the fudruckers that the guy on the left kept riffing on was gold haha
Does nobody else notice that Balaan dresses like the Mortis celestial Son, and Shin has a similar appearance to the daughter?
One note after having watched all your reactions to Ahsoka to this episode: you're citing a timeline somewhat short. End of "Rebels" occurred in year 1BBY. "Return of the Jedi" happened in 4ABY. Then there were 5 years until the start of "The Mandalorian" in 9ABY. "Ahsoka" is set after season 3 of "The Mandalorian" so we're looking at 12 to 13 years gap between "Rebels" and "Ahsoka", as opposed to the 4 to 6 years I heard cited on previous videos. Loving your reactions to this series!
FYI the Senator arguing with Hera is Hamato Xiono, father of Kazuda Xiono of Star Wars Resistance fame.
They gotta give that Crab Guy a blaster cause he was nailing shots better than a Stormtrooper
It’s funny seeing how wrong all predictions have been. Especially seeing how they didn’t catch the father and son statues and balín looking for the mother next episode
@@kmjkmjkmj it’s been out for ever and definitely didn’t spoil anything. Just gave info if you didn’t know what happened the last 2 min
Definitely here for more force-monk Ezra❤
That open-hand saber block.😮🎉❤
As expected from Jay and Adam reaction straight FIRE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
2:38 -> Me shouting, wait until they see what the mobile-vent-mobile is like!!!
8:45: Yes the enemy was so giving and said: "What's mined is yours"
Omg I laughed way too hard at the return of the lambda joke. Oh also how could I forget! I was so happy when you brought back the Mayluron song when Sabine found Ezra. That’s probably my favorite Rebels joke. Never stop busting it out randomly. I thought you’d make a joke for sure about Sabine knowing what Ezra smells like. Oh also you know what Wzra translates to? Stuntin on em.
I FREAKING LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! its the best!!! that reaction to seeing hologram Anakin was So me I was like WHAT!!!!! ah!!! I need to see all those training sessions with him and Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka reunion was everything!!!! and Baylan was such an amazing character Ray was everything for the character
That's so funny! I have never wanted a saber before either! But now I want his too!
You know chopper is hoping to be alone somewhere with that senator he was on full kill mode
Love Adams shirt 😮
Force Monk Ezra is such a fresh design and take. I love it.
This is the weaving of the next set of tales .... Mara Jade ... Nightsisters ... Abeloth ... Mortis Gods ... Because time stops existing when dealing with the World Between Worlds and when dealing with the Mortis Gods - Ahsoka can leap from the established cannon and timeline with ease - along with Anakin - because time is not a constraint. Imagine the tales that can be woven with such a dynamic in hand.
I think there r alive Dathomirians in some kind of stasis*, in those boxes. Remember Ezra said that Thrawn woke up the 3 witches.
P.s. u guys r hilarious! 😂
gonna miss this show . can't wait for y'all to put out the finale .
Jay, please don't do your "...all the burps and farts..." spiel IMMEDIATELY after talking about crawling around in vents, okay?
Fuddruckers? Your mind is a labyrinth of insanity and humor and I love you for it.
The Jeopardy videos were painful, but supporting striking workers isn't always bells and whistles.
#JusticeForPurgils
The bad horse theme song reference!!! Woahhhh! Adam you dog! Of course you are a fan of the horribleness! Still waiting for the second
Baylon is one of the most compelling characters in this story. I love the character and he is not a dark side wielder.
He definitely is a dark side wielder, but he's not evil.
He is NOT, you can use the Light side and be Bad/Evil Count Dooku for example. LIGHT Does not equal = Good@@MeowtroThe Force is not so simple.
He's dark. Dooku was dark. They just aren't sith lords.
@@AlbertoMartinez765 what are you talking about? Dooku regularly uses Dark Side powers. Baylan taught Shin force choke, a dark side power. They are dark side users.
"Does The Ghost not have a dashcam?" I was taking a drink at that moment and nearly spat it out.
And yes, don't these ships have recording devices of some kind?
Over 80 illegal upgrades and no dashcam or recorder for a General? Guess we see the New Republic's priorities.
Well there a reason the new republic fell, but the constant nitpicking of things the reactors and viewers aren't willing to put two and two together.
@@ghostlee6434 I was joking.
***********Jay do not look, potential spoiler*********
I'm not sure, but I think Ezra has been on this planet for about 11 years, not 6 or 7. Looking it up, Asoka takes place 11 ABY and Rebels ends before the Battle of Yavin. That's if the timeline I found is correct.
How 'bout Shin's lightsaber BENDING when the force came out Ezra's hands?!
"A Sith in charge of the Government for 20 years." This wouldn't be a big deal for this world. The Sith are just Jedi to the average person. It's like the President being Catholic or Baptists. They're both Christians. Jedi and Sith are technically the same religious practice. The Sith just split off from the Jedi in ancient times. I would liken it to the English making their own church cause the Catholics wouldn't let the King divorce.
Jay’s Fuddrucker comments were just the delight of my day
If this is NOT the end of Baylon's character, I hope they recast him... I'd like to see more and not have to deal with CGI/AI/Deepfake stuff. Bring back recasting actors. It's a totally normal thing to do...
Jay! I’ve been deprived of my Fudruckers! Too soon! 😱😱😱
Those boxes are full of *Dathomir Marching Powder.*
👃
No thank you necessary Jay! We believe in paying our performers! _Unity!_
And hire all the ninja turtles as waitstaff at PEREDEA FUDD RUCKERS
Maybe Hera knows her replacement would be some pencil necked bureaucratic doofus who couldn't intuit their way from A to maybe halfway to B.
Operation firehose🤪 So many videos.Cut me mick,cut me😳
that one jerky guy at the trial, I'm thinking he's a sympathizer for the Empire. I can think of no other reason why he is always so standoffish with Hera. They need to vet their people better. Those well dressed hermit crabs are just so cute! I prefer them to Ewoks. btw I don't think those are boxes, they look like coffins. they are emptying the catacombs, which I assume is full of witches. Baylon was best character in this series, hand down. Shame the actor died suddenly.
