    Diana Lee Inosanto did SO MUCH to make Morgan awesome, all the subtle looks and expressions, that whispered “for Dathomir” added so much to her character and made such a good secondary antagonist

      I absolutely agree. She deserves an Emmy nomination for this piece. It wouldn't surprise me, if, in the Final Season of The Bad Batch, We MIGHT get an episode or two that shows the earlier years of Morgan Elsbeth.

      @@Luis-de7lf Well, she reached her ultimate goals as a character: She discovered and traveled to Peridea, the homeworld of her people, found and rescued Thrawn, became an official Nightsister, and wielded The Blade Of (Mother) Talzin in a duel against her arch nemesis, a very powerful Jedi. She has become The Pride Of Dathomir and her Sisterhood. In many ways, she's the counter to Sabine, Ahsoka, and Merrin, in terms of realized goals and enlightenment. I truly believe, the first brand new Star Destroyer commissioned under Thrawn's command, will be named, The Elsbeth, in honor of Morgan's sacrifice. Thrawn doesn't take what she did lightly. If it weren't for her natural abilities and successful efforts, Thrawn and the Dathomiri survivors of Peridea would've been lost possibly forever. She will be remembered in the annals of Imperial, Dathomiri, and New Republic History. She was/is a cool SW character.

      The father is anakin. Filoni he's simply completing the plot of the prophecy opened by Lucas in the movies and then in Clone Wars, when Anakin, Obi Wan, and Ahsoka meet the father of the Force. So one could say that anakin is the father (on the other hand, it gives even more meaning to the prophecy of the chosen one), ahsoka is the daughter and Baylan is the son

    You can tell, all throughout the episode, that Thrawn was doing everything he could to stall Ezra, Ahsoka, and Sabine until he could escape. At no point did he underestimate them or assume they were beaten. Even after their ship was temporarily disabled and Thrawn himself said their chances of stopping them were near impossible, he still immediately prepared for a ground assault because he knew that none of them, especially Ahsoka, would give up so long as there was even the slightest possibility that they could stop him. He threw everything at them that he could afford to throw at them and still just barely managed to get away.
    Thrawn has learned from his previous mistakes and refuses to underestimate the Jedi as he once did, making him more dangerous than ever. I can't wait to see what he's going to do next!

    • @Blitzvonic
      @Blitzvonic 10 месяцев назад +17

      People seem to not pay attention to this too. Like the biggest complaint is "oh why didn't he just send more fighters, soldiers, blah blah blah." It's because he can't. He needs to keep whatever resources he can. You can visibly see he's upset every time he has to expend more resources every time. And it makes sense. He's going to be going back to a hostile galaxy, with zero clue on what to expect on his return. For all he knows, a whole enemy fleet could be waiting for him. So I can understand wanting to save as many resources as possible.

      @@nanashi5139 that’s what someone in his position is supposed to do…he makes the strategies not the combat play. Those “boring” strategies prove effective. Making flashy ones can cause problems so he sticks to the simple ones and guess what? He won using those strategies.

    • @consolescrub4031
      @consolescrub4031 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@nanashi5139 I feel like this is bait but in the interest of constructive discussion I should note, that's kind of the point of Thrawn. He's much like the Joker in that he's probably never going to beat the protagonists in a physical fight. He exists to challenge them in a dimension that they struggle to match which in this case is large scale tactics. We've also not seen him with any significant resources yet for the reasons explained above. (He doesn't need much as in Legends he started with 6 star destroyers under him and took over half the galaxy in half a year). I'll admit it's hard to get his character to be impressive on account of the fact that most screenwriters aren't space tactical geniuses and thus they need to compensate by constantly proving him right with the writing, resulting in Deus Ex Machina or incredible coincidences but hopefully we'll get to see him pulling out some tricks we've never seen before without destroying all the logic of the setting. Legends had him using interdictors to pull starships out of hyperspace in broadside positions of enemy cruisers and cloaking tech to win multiple battles by misdirection so it'll be interesting if they do something similar or something new. I'm just saying, it's early days yet, let him cook as the kids say.

    Those statues were the Gods of Mortis. Father, Son and the Daughter had no head.
    Since the Father is the representation of balance, I believe Baylon is looking for the Mother who would be the chaos and imbalance. That way he can break the cycle of war and rebellion and bring true balance and peace to the galaxy. Also I think the Mother (Abeloth) is the thing the witches are running from "a power greater than their own"

      Nothing about her character was "tossed out". That's nonsensically inaccurate. She had an honorable death and died at a point where her character was most liked and appreciated by the fandom. Rather that her character sticking around for too long and the fandom getting bored of her being a "I'll get you next time Ahsoka Tano!" type villain, she died in a purposed, meaningful way. She had a GREAT arc and died not for The Empire, not being just as another cog in the imperial machine, but for her own agenda, prevented our heroes from messing with their plan to repopulate the planet they were headed towards, for Dathomir. She was loyal to Thrawn, but only as a means to an end. She accomplished her goal and sacrificed herself for her sisters and restoring her culture. I respect and honor the way she went out.

      @lisamarieligreci-newton7804 10 месяцев назад +5

      @@YodatheHobbit I didn't mean "tossed out" from a meta perspective but that Thrawn (and maybe the Nightsisters depending on how much they really cared about her) just essentially used her as a pawn and disposed of her. I know she was proud to do so but it still pisses me off on her behafl, haha. That said, the Nightsisters gave him a LOOK when he destroyed the temple so perhaps there will be tension going forward...(especially if Merrin ends up in the mix, who is currently anti-Empire...or if they resurrect Ventress who is canonically buried on Dathomir).

    11:12 Nope, this is something different, they weren't Zombies before...
    20:02 So my theory is that those boxes are a lot of Nightsisters in stasis, ready to reclaim Dathomir. I believe Thrawn being their taxi service is the deal that was struck for them getting him back to the "main" galaxy.
    so here is my gripe, Ahsoka season one is way too much build up and not enough pay off.

He spoke about his path etc etc
    The statue is the father, its pointing into the distance and theres a bright light amongst the mountains where he points

    The stone monolithic statues at the end with Baylan were of the Mortis folks. The one behind Baylan was the Father, the one to the right was the Son, and then on the left was the Daughter without her head, because she died saving Ahsoka in the Mortis arc. I'm assuming you guys saw the Mortis arc in Clone Wars S3x15 - S3x17? Episodes "Overlords", "Altar of Mortis" and "Ghosts of Mortis".

    It's so sad that Ray Stevenson died because he was so damn good in this. I hope they recast him with Liev Schreiber for season 2. If you guys haven't yet you should just google search him as Baylan. It's a pretty damn close comparison and Schreiber is also the same height as Stevenson. I think he could match the characters demeanor that Ray had.

    The most impressive thing is that while almost nothing is resolved it doesn't feel like they dropped the ball. It still feels like a satisfying conclusion to a season of TV while leaving plenty to do for a potential season 2 or a movie. Almost every other series DIsney+ has produced seems to struggle when it comes to wrapping things up.

    I honestly love how the witches use the force. You get force alchemy (not only creating swords, but Merrin uses it to transmute her dagger into a spear and long blade), green force fire, Resurrection, Zombies, and the most forbidden technique of all…Making Force come outcha feet. This show honestly could have used a cameo from Merrin and Cal. If they had let Sabin die in the first episode, then they could have used the second to have Ashoka take her body to Merrin and cal so Merrin could have resurrected Sabin. A quick simple cameo to show what the good and bad versions of the witches looks like. Maybe in season 2.

      Of any faults people might have with Disney Star Wars, I don't think anyone has complained about any of the casting, so I think they'll do a good job with a replacement Baylon.
      That said, I don't think they'll get anyone as good as Ray Stevenson.

    Hear me out: From the Mortis Arc. Ashoka is the daughter. (light side of The Force) This planet has a connection to the Mortis Gods. Morai is here. Possibly what the Night Sisters feared as Baylan predicted. Anakin has taken the place of the Father. He is able to manipulate the World Between Worlds and both the Light and Dark Sides of The Force. The Son who is the Dark Side of The Force has yet to be revealed. Maybe it's Baylan. I think Baylan is seeking out the Mortis Gods or access to the World Between Worlds to change something big.

    I just picked up on something. When the female dark side force user holds up her lightsaber, it had the same hilt on it as the one that Ezra just made. The droid said he made two of those parts. Is that Kanaan's lightsaber? Also, they giant stature was of the Father, the mortis god from the Clone Wars.

    19:40 is the mortis god (father) statue. I think it was foreshadowing Anakin being there checking in on Ahsoka telling you that what happened in the world between worlds was real not just in her heard, she died and he guided her soul back to life. I think they showed this because he is now the father representing the past (Light/Dark) Ahsoka is the daughter present (light) and the son will be Kylo Ren/Ben Solo representing the future (dark) and that is why Ben Solo had a connection to Darth Vader not just Palpatine. Plus in Anakin tells Ahsoka she is part of a legacy and then in the info book about rise of skywalker they described Ben Solo/Kylo Ren this way as part of a legacy.

    I really liked how the opening scene to this series was the same as the opening to Episode 1 The Phantom Menace (jedi arriving on a transport ship to a larger ship and fighting the crew) and ended with the same ending as Episode 6 Return of the Jedi with Anakins force ghost (regardless of whether you prefer the 1983 Sebastian Shaw or the 2005 remaster with Hayden Christensen - but this is obviously a nod to the remastered edit, cuz duh)

    You already have had a number of comments mention the Mortis to you, so I'll just add this:
    Personally, I thought it was... just kind of a weird arc of Clone Wars. But, George Lucas was adamant that it was an important part of the lore, and Filoni obviously respects this enough to make a HUGE deal out of them... I'd suggest going and watching just those eps so you have a solid point of reference.
    S3, E15-17... can bust those out in an afternoon. Hell... I even got my Mom to watch just those eps so she'd have a better understanding of what's going on. XD

    Horrible episode, god awful series. Pacing too slow, acting subpar, story made little sense, characters not acting in character even remotely close, unrealistic motivations, too many retcons, and action scenes were silly.
    It’s a poorly made fanfiction show. I can’t see a single person that likes clone wars, rebels, the thrawn trilogy, or Star Wars liking Disney Ahsoka show.
    This show is supposed to be the continuous story of clone wars--rebels--and now Ahsoka--(next film)
    Problem is, this shows story does not follow the story path of Ahsoka or of Phoenix squad.
    It dismantles thrawn and turns him into a crappy bitch who has yet to make a decision that showed even the slightest of intelligence.
    There you go, a short HONEST review. If I wanted to make a video on the positive bits for this show it would take up maybe 5 minutes.6

    Apart from a Season 2, this might branch off to the long rumored Ezra show and it will definitely play a role in Filoni's upcoming movie, in which every Post-Episode VI show will come together to defeat whatever is waiting in the end.
    And Baylan seeking the Mortis Gods? Oh boy...I don't think we have met the ACTUAL big bad yet. This might be the most important plot point coming out of "Ahsoka". A shame he will get recast.

    Honestly I would not be surprised if Dave Filoni’s movie becomes a trilogy. Especially if they follow the original Thrawn trilogy, the Original trilogy cast can’t stand on the sidelines. I only have two requests if they play a part.
    1. Don’t use deepfake or CGI. You already have actors that look enough like Han and Lando, and the actor they used for a base on deepfake Luke already looks like Luke.
    2. With a recasted Leia, you will be able to do this Dave. Please give Leia her Jedi moment. We’ve been waiting for it since Return of the Jedi

    Ok a) the boxes are clearly night sisters in suspended animation. B) I think Baylan is trying to find the last remaining Mortis god…Adam you read the EU so you will probably recognize this name…Abeloth, the Mother, otherwise known as the crazy bitch that drove an entire generation of Jedi to go insane and Luke had to fight…those statues are the father, son, and the broken one is the daughter. I think a Baylan is gonna find the Mother, FUCK LET ME BE RIGHT

    You know... you watch all of it. CW, Rebels, Tales, Mando, and now this, there's something interesting in Ahsoka's skill set.
    She's more likely to f*** you up with your own weapons than she is her own. She's at her most dangerous when she loses one or both weapons. BattleDroids, Inquisitors, even Ani...
    I think it would be awesome to see Ash wield the darksaber and sword of Talzin together.

    Thrawn's dig at Ahsoka before he goes into hyperspace is so good, knowing what we know from the second of the new canon Thrawn trilogy (Thrawn Alliances). Thrawn worked with Anakin and he worked with Vader, and he **knows**. He's one of the only people who knew, before it became public knowledge after RotJ.
    Also, so many have said it, but yeah the statues are the Mortis "gods", the one Baylan was standing on was the Father and the missing one is the Daughter (Who is embodied by the owl, Morai).

  • @EmanueleCorsi
    @EmanueleCorsi 10 месяцев назад

    I suppose a lot of people already explained but: a) the statues behind Baylan at the end are the Father and the Son (the Daughter is missing), they are some kind of "gods of the Force" that we met in the Mortis Arc in TCW season 3 (and in the paintings outside the Jedi Temple in Rebels, in the episodes about the World between Worlds, season 4). So Baylan is after their ancestral power. b) The blade of Talzin is a sword used by Mother Talzin (the head witch of Dathomir) in a fight against Mace Windu in TCW. So it's kind of a powerful relic.
