@@onegemini420 Yeah this post Return of the Jedi Anakin/Vader is just awesome. Because Vader is Anakin. Somehow he seems even more terrifying now that he has control of Vader and not the other way around. The way he switched back to Anakin.....Fcking chills and my eyes want to tear up just thinking about it.
Watching it a second time, I feel like Ahsoka's melancholy, no nonsense attitude in the first half of the series was a result of her giving into fear in a very subtle way. She knew that the one who trained her had fallen and done evil, vile things...and he had taught her everything he knew...and perhaps she worried that she would suffer the same fate. So she tried to harden herself against it because she feared it might be inevitable. The lesson here was that she did not need to stand in his shadow or follow his path. She could choose life....she could choose to be more...and that's what she did. Instead of striking down Anakin in that moment as a Sith would do, she made her choice to not give in. To live.
Precisely. The whole line -- Dooku to Qui-Gon to Obi-Wan to Anakin to Ahsoka -- they all possess the same base knowledge but each one added their own style, their own beliefs to the chain. Ahsoka will do the same and pass her knowledge on to Sabine, who perhaps will continue on. The difference is that Ahsoka is the first of the Jedi to truly realize that following the Force can be more than the dogmatic order that the Jedi became. In the same way that the Protestant church split from Catholicism because of their belief that bureaucracy & dogma should not stand in-between a person's relationship with God, Ahsoka is taking the lessons of her forebears and stripping them to the fundamentals to create a stronger, more direct connection to the Force.
exactly, just like Anakin said to her she is more just like he was, and it was Luke who showed him that. Ahsoka became disillusioned with the Jedi after being falsely accused, and was always clearly conflicted about being used for a war, and then to top that all off with that leading to her master falling to the darkness caused a part of her to doubt herself.
I completely agree. She had to choose to let go of her fear of either becoming Vader, or training a new one. She needed to get away from her belief that all she is is a soldier and not a person.
I think Ahsoka's last line of the episode really summed up her lesson with Anakin. She can go anywhere, including places she doesn't want to go, but it's better than if she goes nowhere, letting herself get stuck and wallow in her fear and self-doubt. She has to forge ahead with conviction.

Ahsoka chose to rise above her anger and guilt, and let it go. Anakin then subdued the dark side in him, said "theres hope for you yet", and sent her back to the mortal world. She learned her lesson, and from that point on, her demeanor was much more Ahsoka-like. Hopeful. Optimistic. And most importantly, fully trusting in the force.
You are right, he is the balance and might be the force in physical form. My guess is that he will only interfere with reality if it’s to keep balance in the force.

The fans were eating good with this episode, phenomenal realization of the Clone Wars in live action and Hayden bridging the gap between his prequel and Matt Lanter’s performance. Just pure, amazing Star Wars; couldn’t be happier with what we got and so excited to see the rest. Thrawn will definitely bring the weight of the pending stakes, Lars is going to bring it!
I really get the feeling that Anakin is the protector of World Between Worlds and we can see he has achieved the balance of light and dark, becoming the role of the Father from Mortis that would bring and maintain balance in the force where as Ahsoka is the heir of the Daughter. Beautiful episode it was perfection.
Ahsoka delivering the "Boot to The Head" brought back an old comedy routine. For us *older folks (I'm 66),* "Boot To The Head" is a comedy sketch by The Frantics that was played and a favorite of the Dr. Demento radio show. There's also a live performance of a song by the same name.
This is what I am imagining: Hera is in the middle of being court marshaled and right before they give the verdict, Ahsoka and Ezra pop in to inform the senate that Thrawn has returned. This is when Hera see’s Ezra for the first time in years, to help her when she needs it most. I think that is very fitting.

Anakin teaching Ahsoka that she is more than just a warrior and that doesn't need to be her only lesson to Sabine, that she is not doomed tofollow the same fate as him. All that while exploring pivotal moments during the Clone Wars. Love how we know that Ahsoka realized the lesson from the change in her demeanor, she looks like she took a huge weight off her back on the way she talks and acts now. Plus the obvious change of Jedi clothes. Also HELL YEAH! The Force is in everything just like Yoda said long ago. Loved how Jacen was able to hear the duel between Anakin and Ahsoka and also being able to guide his mother to hear it too. ♥ Suck that "Sabine can't be a Jedi" haters.😂 And the purgils. THIS... Is all the fans want. For it to feel authentic & not half assed. I want to be able to say after every episode, show, series etc... "That right there my friends, is Star Wars!"
Hayden was absolutely incredible in this. Your take on the maturity in his voice was spot on. He's definitely taking on more of Matt Lanter's characterization.
20:34 Hera right here was giving Aldo Raine vibes from the end of Inglorious Bastards. “You’ll be shot for this!” “Nah, more like chewed out. I been chewed out before.”
I don't see many people pointing it out, but Anakin's eyes are extremly symbolic here - and I don't mean the obvious "Good and Bad" thing. When he was himself, his eyes were normal. When he was Vader, his eyes were sickened yellow. But when he was fighting Ahsoka in the World-between-Worlds with his Red Lightsaber, his eyes weren't yellow anymore - they were bloody red (and not the whole eye, like Darth Maul had - just the eyes' iris). This implies how much powerfull Anakin really is, because this is literally the symbol of complete control over the Dark Side within oneself.
Live action Clone Wars complete with Hayden’s Anakin interacting with Ahsoka and a cameo by Rex. This episode was not just fan service but a love letter to Star Wars fandom. We love you too Dave Filoni. May the Force always be with you.
The fact this is all coming together….Filoni has dreamed of this for a very long time. The man is pure brilliance. Seeing little Ahsoka on screen and Anakin in his armor ?!? I’m dead.
Best thing of star wars since Episode 3 (haven't seen clone wars YET), almost made me tear up since I grew up with the prequels and seeing Hayden as Anakin brought me straight back to my childhood. 11/10, peak tv.
I hope you get to watch Clone Wars..The relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka was truly special. Seeing them reunited had me in tears. I tried to hold them back and said fuck I want to feel it all to its fullest.
I love how they had the light sabers mesh with the waves. This is the second time I’ve heard a similar sound usage, the first was in episode 5 of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, which mixed clapping in with shower/rain. It gave me chills. Marrok being just shadow clone jutsu, 😂😂! Nice call on the actress for young Ahsoka played young Gamora. This episode was love, just love!
It's crazy that other then The Last Jedi this is the only flashback that I can think of in live action or animation. Great casting and deaging of Hayden. Can see more of this in future. So much emotion in this episode. Fioloni is the Heir To The Empire thank you so much.
That final scene with the purrgil had me all kinds of emotional. The combination of music and the look of awe and wonder on the X-Wing pilots faces really brought it home, and you gotta give props to the power of the Volume to put the actors amongst these scenes and react directly.
Hayden Christensen make Darth Vader scarier even without the suit. Amazing performance. And the transition from sith to jedi only with face expressions and that smile... Hayden deserves all the appreciation and love from the fandom.
Credit to the music!!! OMG, i feel like it's exactly the same as when Esra left with Thrawn! So emotional! My god Filoni, what a masterpiece, felt like Zimmerman!
There was so much to love about this ep but I absolutely _adored_ the small detail about Leia covering for Hera. That's so in-character for her to not only respect Hera and take the Thrawn threat seriously, but also a great implication that she hasn't forgotten working with Ezra back during Rebels. I wasn't sure if any of the OT trio would be referenced at all in this show so that made me insanely happy in addition to everything else
I think Anakin has embraced the role of the chosen one. They made him Mortis without saying it in so many words and bogging down the narrative for those who haven't watched Clone Wars. He can embody both the light and the dark side. Truly bring balance to the Force. He can manipulate the World Between Worlds to influence Ashoka or anyone who can enter that realm. Maybe even Luke…? That was amazing.
These guys fell in love with Hayden quick. To say he was a fraction of himself in the Vader suit is insanity. As Vader his force strength was immeasurable. He didnt really need a light saber.
What you guys missed is that when Ahsoka was holding the red saber to Anakin's throat, for a moment, her eyes turned sith yellow and Anakin's face showed concerned that maybe he pushed too far or too hard.
Ahsoka is 100% the model example of a Jedi. She always helps the powerless and she never acts out. There’s not an ounce of selfishness or want for reward or recognition. Which is why it’s all the more tragic that all this bad stuff happened to her since her teenage days.
"Rebels and Clone Wars have never felt more real." Couldn't have said it better myself, man. Absolutely phenomenal. Ahsoka is truly Ahsoka the white now. She's become everything I've ever hoped for her at the end of this episode
I will never get tired of seeing your reactions. the positivity this channel puts out is a truly a speck of gold in a pile of RUclips dust that is Star Wars content. Too many negative channels presenting their opinions as the “correct” one, not enough of this. Keep it up guys, you truly embody what it means to be a Star Wars fan and I love seeing how much the channel has grown!
Man, seeing little Ahsoka brought a slight tear to my eye. Seeing her head-dress with the little bead strand; straight out of Clone Wars. It took me back. Great casting for her!
Ahsoka: "I won't fight you." Anakin: "I've heard that before." Return of the Jedi Luke: "I will not fight you." Also the credits confirm Captain/Commander Rex is voiced by Temuera Morrison.

The way both Ahsoka and Anakin both changed both their looks along with their saber forms as they journeyed through their years together.....Going from Clone wars, to the war end than Anakin's fall to tue dark side.......so amazingly well done. GIVE HAYDEN A VADER MOVIE ALREADY!!!!!!
I regret that I can only like your comment once! Hayden deserves it.
@@bradyanselmi absolutely, he has absolutely killed his appearances thus far and fans everywhere love him even more now. He has proven that he can step into the role, LET HIM FLY IN A VADER SOLO FILM!!!!.........or better yet give him a series like this and just cover Vader's conquering of the galaxy while leading the empire, that would rock even harder
Everything but a Vader film he has so many stories in current canon already just read his comics
@@TheOnlyHawkeye666 they could give him a series that covers all the “behind the scenes” as Vader between the original trilogy movies. Almost like “The original trilogy: from a certain point of view”
@@bradyanselmi exactly, we have never seen live action or much animated of Vader leader the empire's army and bringing the galaxy under their rule. It deserves to be told and shown
I agree. Seeing 14 year old Ahsoka having to fight in a war really hits hard in live action where you see an actual child.
“I won’t fight you.”
“I’ve heard that before…”
Chills man, chills
ROTJ reference!!
@@quesoturtle739 Twilight of the Apprentice as well...
@@LOVEMUFFIN_officialnah, in twilight of the apprentice she said “I won’t leave you”
"They never listen."
That wasn't just Huyang lamenting Ahsoka and Sabine, that was for every Jedi that died on a mission he was also on over the last 25000 years.
Anakin literally pulled up and said "Wait, you lost? Nah. Back to basics young lady!" Hahaha
Ahsoka: gets beat by some scrub
Anakin: kindly says GET UP, YA BUM!
“I will not fight you”
“I’ve heard that before”
Nice call back to Luke in ROTJ
The fans were eating good with this episode, phenomenal realization of the Clone Wars in live action and Hayden bridging the gap between his prequel and Matt Lanter’s performance. Just pure, amazing Star Wars; couldn’t be happier with what we got and so excited to see the rest. Thrawn will definitely bring the weight of the pending stakes, Lars is going to bring it!
This was some very fine dining. Yum yum!😋
All I need now is a bearded Temuera as live action Rex in a non-flashback situation and I will be content
I'd love to see Rex in the series, but I it'd have to be an earlier point in time. supposedly, Rex would be roughly 88 at this point.
This episode is now among my most favorite episodes in all of Star Wars.
Best episode of Disney Star Wars , yet ! This even edged out Luke showing up to pick up Grogu. Hayden was GREAT !
I have to agree 🤌🏽 I knew before watching that we would end up comparing the two episodes and I have to give the edge to Ahsoka.
Eh I still think Andor edges them out.But both of those episodes were amazing
"Captain Gerrard, this is General Syndulla. I'd move your fleet out of there if I were you."
*WHALES*
I felt the symmetry between "you didn't kill Anakin, I did" from Obi Wan & getting Ahsoka to make the choice to "live" was poetic.
22:25 “look at it! It’s SOO BIG!” …. “That’s what she said” had me 😂
I really get the feeling that Anakin is the protector of World Between Worlds and we can see he has achieved the balance of light and dark, becoming the role of the Father from Mortis that would bring and maintain balance in the force where as Ahsoka is the heir of the Daughter.
Beautiful episode it was perfection.
The actor playing young Ahsoka is Ariana Greenblatt who is 15. She did such an amazing job.
It just occured to me... The Pirgills are the fusion of an octopuss, a whale and a stingray
Just an incredible episode. Very fulfilling and satisfying. It's going to take weeks to fully unravel everything
Why hasn't somebody given this episode an award???
Wasn't Ahsoka able to communicate with beasts in Tales of the Jedi? Great reaction as always, guys
Oh shit you’re right.
forget that shitty episode, read Ahsoka's novel by E.K. Johnson
@@danielbrito3675She's a baby when connecting with the tiger in ep 1, which is not in the novel. Is there any communication with animals in it? I don't remember.
@@danielbrito3675 I have read the book! 😊
Hera: we need to find Sabine
Ahsoka: I speak whale.
The music at the end with ahsoka finally being unburdened by war which shes seen since she was a child and the purgil taking them and the music WOW . watched 4x and every time I get Goosebumps
When Bendu says "God Damnit!!" Same emotion I was feeling!
This is peak star wars. This episode, in this series just fantastic. I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't anywhere near what we got. What a time to be alive.
Ashoka the White has been reborn through the Force and her experience with Anakin. She needed that to move forward. It's absolutely incredible what Dave Filoni has done with this show. Literal chills when Vader's image flickered over Anakin. WOW!!!
Incredible episode. Live-action Anakin and Ahsoka feels like a legendary moment
This was like watching a fan film come to life in the greatest way possible. Siege in live action is something I never thought possible, but here we are.
god this was my favorite episode arguably ever from a SW series
So happy for Hayden. He was amazing and Rosario nailed Ahsoka's mannerisms and facial expressions with Anakin. Fantastic episode.
Suck that "Sabine can't be a Jedi" haters.😂
And the purgils. Beautifull. 😁😁😁
Baldsoka is something that never needs to be seen again
Just the boys I was waiting for!!! Couldn’t wait for y’all’s reaction!
Words, spoken truer they have not!
ahsoka the white is the coolest fucking character development she could've had and this episode was truly a spiritual experience. DAVE FILONI ON TOPPPPPP
I was up all night waiting for you guys and your reaction. I don’t even have words for this episode. The his one was for the fans. All of us that stuck with it all the way. Thanks for your energy. Saying what I can’t. All the love. XX
She's so adventurous now, she really needed her master being like "do your thing! don't be so cautious of this legacy! don't get beaten again!"
Ahsoka has exceed my expectations already, Each episode has topped the last for me so far, It is insanely good and all the call backs were so awesome.
THIS...
Is all the fans want. For it to feel authentic & not half assed.
I want to be able to say after every episode, show, series etc...
"That right there my friends, is Star Wars!"
The young girl did a fantastic job. Outstanding really, wow.
I’ve never been so inspired to light a candle, speak to Jesus, and swim with sea creatures ever in my life. I live.
This episode made me tear up several times! The way Hayden looks like Anakin from TCW and trying to emulate Matt’s voice is amazing!🎉🎉🎉
Hayden was absolutely incredible in this. Your take on the maturity in his voice was spot on. He's definitely taking on more of Matt Lanter's characterization.
20:34 Hera right here was giving Aldo Raine vibes from the end of Inglorious Bastards.
“You’ll be shot for this!”
“Nah, more like chewed out. I been chewed out before.”
23:16 “She looks like she’s doing an exorcism on Theoden, king, right now” 🤣🤣🤣
"I won't fight you"
"I have heard that before" Return of the Jedi call back - So awesome.
New nickname for the big purrgil - baleen skoll 😂
Hayden absolutely ate his role in this episode and left zero crumbs behind. I always knew had it in him & I’m SO glad Dave Filoni brought him in!!
Some of the best Star Wars ever! This and Andor are the best of the live action shows.
Ahsoka looks so at peace after that experience! LOVE IT. And the outfit? *chef’s kiss*
Seeing Siege of mandalore was incredible! You have to watch the clone wars to get that same feeling like we got
Watch clone wars. Gets really good after the first couple seasons, also watch rebels, gets really good.
Clone Wars and Rebels (which imo is even better) are so good. Get stuck in, once you get going you will surely love them.
Thanks guys. I already started watching clone wars :)
This one brought out the nostalgia watching clone wars every weekend when it was out! Loving your reactions for this series!
This Episode is one of those Best Dreams like when they show up un announce and make us smile.
One of the best Star Wars related episodes to date.....absolutely awesome...great reaction folks.....knowledge is power!!
Hayden killed it in this. Having proper writing and direction helps too.
That final scene with the purrgil had me all kinds of emotional. The combination of music and the look of awe and wonder on the X-Wing pilots faces really brought it home, and you gotta give props to the power of the Volume to put the actors amongst these scenes and react directly.
Tem Morrison as Rex is everything!
Fun fact: The actress who played young Ahsoka is the same who played young Gamora on Infinity War.
Hayden still has those saber skills..... and this was the most alive I felt Anakin portrayed
I’m so happy for Hayden. He was never the problem in the prequels - the writing and directing were
There was so much to love about this ep but I absolutely _adored_ the small detail about Leia covering for Hera.
This episode was everything to me, everything
I think Anakin has embraced the role of the chosen one. They made him Mortis without saying it in so many words and bogging down the narrative for those who haven't watched Clone Wars. He can embody both the light and the dark side. Truly bring balance to the Force. He can manipulate the World Between Worlds to influence Ashoka or anyone who can enter that realm. Maybe even Luke…? That was amazing.
When it comes to Star Wars and pointing out even the smallest details, you guys are the fucking best!
These guys fell in love with Hayden quick. To say he was a fraction of himself in the Vader suit is insanity. As Vader his force strength was immeasurable. He didnt really need a light saber.
Thank you for acknowledging that Vader existed before the suit.
ANAKIN NEVER FOUGHT OBI WAN.
First live-action name drop of Kanan!!!
They've finally got a good fight choreographer!! YES!
NEED A LIVE ACTION SERIES OF THIS STAT!
I’ve heard that before…
A subtle reference to Return of the Jedi - the fight in the throne room.
“I will not fight you, Father.”
I´ve seen the episode but I have been waiting for your reaction all day. Keep ém coming.
May the Force be with you
"Rebels and Clone Wars have never felt more real." Couldn't have said it better myself, man. Absolutely phenomenal.
Ahsoka is truly Ahsoka the white now. She's become everything I've ever hoped for her at the end of this episode
the battle of Mandolore Ohsoka was in beast mode
I can't say how much this episode meant to me ... 10/10
Agreed! This is like “Andor” that it’s picks up the intensity as episodes goes on, though it’s so much more connected to Star Wars lore. LOVE IT!!!
That discussion at the end was even better than the reaction of you two to the episode it was so beautifully nerdy thak you for that.
Carson just going "... Ok, then" when told Jason was the son of a Jedi was great lol
The girl playing young Ahsoka was brilliant.
Ahsoka: "I won't fight you."
Anakin: "I've heard that before."
Return of the Jedi Luke: "I will not fight you."
Also the credits confirm Captain/Commander Rex is voiced by Temuera Morrison.
Ahsoka wouldn't have sensed Sabine getting choked out because Sabine wasn't holding the sphere anymore.
We watch you as soon as you post bc sometimes we enjoy your reactions and encyclopedic knowledge more than the episodes. We have a “drinking game” to see how often Kyle gets choked up. We agree this is the best episode so far.
