I hope they paid CLOSE attention to your video Shaun, because if they closed off the wrong ends on EITHER side, WHOA NELLY, LOL!!!! GREAT info on letting them know about coolant and pets DON'T MIX!!! Cool info on helping people out, especially if they can't afford having a heater core done!
i really hope so too,as Silvia says pay attention or watch it again! thanks my friend
@@thisguysgarage LOL, thanks Shaun!
5:14 , watch from this point to truly fix this issue.
Great video btw.
That was messy, and genius.

appreciate it chuck!
Great instructional video. It was cool you could have a cameraman! 👍
Thanks 👍 appreciate it
How's she goin'? A good mechanic can fix problems. But a good mechanic also knows how to patch problems too, in an emergency and temporarily!! Nice job and too bad the first try didn't work out for yas!! Take care!!
ty my friend!
I have a 94 Ford Aerostar and it's leaking all along the side of the driver side to the rear. I'm glad you said Capital that the front instead of the back that's what I would have started as well. Now I just got to find the hoses I'm not a mechanic so thanks for your video
as long as you get in front of the leak you will be set . let me know how you get along.
Well I fixed it the two hoses for coming off of water pump so I just did a bypass right there in the front only took me 1 hour to do all the work no leaks!!
@@brentmaveric4981 awesome Brent, glad to hear it
Great information
ty so much nm101
Very. Good. YOU. KNOW. YOUR. STUFF
ty john!
Good job. I know they put something in some brands of coolant to make it bitter, so animals won't drink it. I dunno why they don't do it to all coolant.
i know right! ty bruce.
Thank you brother it helped me alot
I learned something new!! 🤜🤛
appreciate it brother
No heater core good if you live here in the South.
yes sir ,ty for taking the time
I'm permanently removing the rear heater unit to make more room for campervan buildout of my Chevy Suburban. Thinking I can just put in a bypass just like your video. Any concerns with this setup long-term. Do you have any advice for how to tie- out the A/C lines in the rear?
you will need to get the ac removal dealt with professionally ,huge fines for opening ac lines. no concerns long term
Is it possible to bypass the front heater core and not the rear?
Hi Shaun, any idea what size the rubber heater hose is in the back? I’d like to order the 90 degree part in advance; I live in remote area.
HI THE PART WAS A HARDWARE STORE ITEM IT WAS 1/2 INCH inside diameter in this application . sorry for the caps lol didn't know the lock was on.
Can I do this same thing on a 2001 dodge caravan? I have a rear leak also and would really just do away with the rear heat as it's just a work van.
yes sir ,loop it ahead of the leak!
So you plugged off both ends of rear heater hoses, but what about connecting the front hoses to circulate coolant instead of pouring out rear heater hose ports
that's actually what ended up happening in the video because it was a line that got punctured near the tire the heater core was ok actually . thanks for the comment kari, spot on!
No heater core in the Canadian winter. Burrrrrrr.
we are tuff lol can live without the rear heater core lol
@@thisguysgarage haha
I have this exact problem..only question I have is what do you do with the open ports that are created after you cut both hoses off under the front hood
i looped the or connected them together the same as the back to get in front of the leak. let me know if you need any more guidance.
@@thisguysgarage I have the same question. Do you just leave the other ends open? I see you bypass one end, but do you just leave the other half of the hoses below the cut open?
@@nploda1408 yes just leave them open as long as they are looped back to the engine you are good
lol i’m not sure you people should be diy ing
good job on video tho littearly have my line plugged off and was about to start it untill i watched this video
What gives Caper?
5 days, and no videos?
I've got a fever, and the only cure is more TGG content. Lol
How bout a name that tune video at least?
-Chuck
i have been playing catch up, will be getting something together sooon lol
Homie just pissed coolant all inside his buddy’s ride
lol
so yeah you should NEVER do this...
Why not?
Why is a rear heater core even a thing
No shit! Mine blew right off going down the road, lost all my coolant in Seconds... WTF...the ONLY reason I noticed was the fan was Ultra loud, then looked at my Temp gauge, and was acting crazy.....couldn't figure out Where all the coolant went! Luckily I saw a puddle in the rear, and saw the broken line....luckily I was near an autozone, got it rigged back.
