Any of these will give sufficient power for the latest gpus. I'd go with the rm850, gives you some more juice if you'd like to try overclocking some of your components.
@@julianb.1944 For 30 bucks more, yes I'd go with the RM850x at $160 over the RM850 for $130. Yes more expensive but considering all of the little things you get in the RMx line the slight(ish) cost difference seems like good value for money.

if there is a high demand of 12V meaning more current or more load like adding more drives and fans, does it affects the 5V rail? as with the issue on Corsair V650 that the 5V rail is getting from its 12V rail by sharing its regulator, does it the same circuit topology with the other model of Corsairs?
In modern systems most of the power draw is from the 12v rail. Whether strain on the 12v rail affects the 5v rail depends if the lines are really separate or if the 5v draws its power from the 12v. Some PSUs generate their 5v power from the 12v using DC/DC technology. I do not know off the top of my head which Corsair models have dedicated 5v rails. PS. Take everything I say with a grain of salt as this is really technical and I don't usually tread in these waters.

Something that won't tax it too much, one of the amd cpus with an apu maybe like the Ryzen 5 3400g. Or an older gen (R5 2600) with a mid level card. With that last one there's even some allowance to upgrade later on.

This video cleared a lot for me! ive been shopping for a psu and i notice that some descriptions say "Date first Available". Are later versions of the same product better or something?
Later versions can sometimes have vast improvements or just minor ones. Unfortunately it's really difficult to track and Corsair doesn't do a good job of distinguishing the versions.
Hey man, I'm currently living in a country that have the worst electricity (worst than you can imagine). Pretty sure that my PSU died because of it since the constant random switching between high and low electricity power. Now I'm looking to buy a new PSU and was wondering does it help if I get a 80 plus platinum or higher PSU rather than buying an 80 plus gold PSU matter? I mean will the higher certification help save my PSU from dying because of the bad electricity that I'm dealing with?
I live in the Philippines so I can sympathize with having a "noisy" power grid. Generally the higher end PSUs (Gold upwards) already have some voltage regulation built into them. I do not know how much better the protection gets the higher up in color you go but I do not think it is substantial. The easiest solution would be to get a good external avr (automatic voltage regulator); you plug your psu into the avr and then the avr plugs into the wall outlet. The avr should smooth out the voltage from the line so it's "cleaner" when it gets to the PSU.
Yo do you thing its fine to use the green cx750 that I've had for 5 years for a new build. Heard a bunch of people complaining about it saying its not but the Amazon and bestbuy reviews are good. And its been flawless for me
@@hwsph what kind of protections does it have? Like over voltage and stuff. And also I've had it on a 980 and quad core cpu so its never really been pushed, 3080 will definitely push it. So like idk it might a bit risky to use it a power hungry 10600k ans 3080
i was gonna get a cv 550 to power up ryzen 5 2600x , and a 1660 super but now im scared 😂 can you suggest a better psu or is cv enough to run it. also do i still need a avr in 2020 ?

rm850 for 134$ or rm750x for 134$ or hx750i for 160$? I have a 3900x and a gtx 1080. I want to have room for a better graphics card, which should i buy?
Any of these will give sufficient power for the latest gpus. I'd go with the rm850, gives you some more juice if you'd like to try overclocking some of your components.
Hardware Sugar okay thanks for the quick reply. Is it worth paying 160 for the rm850x instead 130 for the rm850?
@@julianb.1944 For 30 bucks more, yes I'd go with the RM850x at $160 over the RM850 for $130. Yes more expensive but considering all of the little things you get in the RMx line the slight(ish) cost difference seems like good value for money.
Hardware Sugar okay thank you so much, now i know what to get
Hi sir is CV550w okay with Ryzen5 4560G? with 8gb RAM, 120 gb SSD, HDD 500 and a320m Mobo?
Thank you po!
should be fine
@@hwsph salamat po! And oks lang po ba sya kahit wala ng avr?

puwede
Is there any differences in cables between the hx850 and the rmx850 in stiffness or length ? As i am plannig a mid tower case but the cables in the rmx are already stiffy and i got some extensions already but now i decided to go with th hx and wanted to verify this?
sorry tbh idk
if there is a high demand of 12V meaning more current or more load like adding more drives and fans, does it affects the 5V rail? as with the issue on Corsair V650 that the 5V rail is getting from its 12V rail by sharing its regulator, does it the same circuit topology with the other model of Corsairs?
In modern systems most of the power draw is from the 12v rail. Whether strain on the 12v rail affects the 5v rail depends if the lines are really separate or if the 5v draws its power from the 12v. Some PSUs generate their 5v power from the 12v using DC/DC technology. I do not know off the top of my head which Corsair models have dedicated 5v rails. PS. Take everything I say with a grain of salt as this is really technical and I don't usually tread in these waters.

Well i have cv 550 can it run my rig

might want a little more juice since you have an rtx2060
sir meron akong computer shop ang gamit kong PSU ordenary lang , at puro games ang nilalaro ng mga players. advise lang po kong ano dapat gawin. salamat
Simple, comprehensive and helpful !
will a VS series PSU enough for a Ryzen APU build? Specifically a VS450 for a 2200G
yup, a VS450 for a 2200G based build should be fine
I bought a VS650w psu for my brothers new pc, is it gonna be alright for an rx580 and a ryzen 5 3600xt? I have panic bought a CV650 after hearing allot of negativity around the vs lineup. Should I cancel the CV order? Would the vs end up being fine?
I'd go with the CV just for peace of mind.
@@hwsph thank you, I appreciate the advice. I'm now thinking about putting the vs 650 I have into a custom built gaming pc to sell so it at least has some use rather than sitting around doing nothing. I want to make sure I am being as safe as possible for the buyer, what kind of build would you recommend for this?
Something that won't tax it too much, one of the amd cpus with an apu maybe like the Ryzen 5 3400g. Or an older gen (R5 2600) with a mid level card. With that last one there's even some allowance to upgrade later on.
@@hwsph thank you so much, that's a fantastic suggestion, I'll go down that route. I appreciate the advice so much 😁
@@tobezoned504 no worries, have fun with the builds
What about corsair tx series gold psu? Should I buy now for my rtx 2060?
TX-M? Not sure what cpu you have but a TX650M will work well in most builds with that gpu.
Can someone tell me in a shorr answer what's the best line? Pls
thanks this video saved me from big mistake
yung CX550M ba 4 plus 4 yung CPU cable?
i have the rm750 2021 for my first build which is all white
Hay bro help me out here. It would be great if you do so.
I am thinking of building this rig
Ryzen 3 3200g
Gigabytes B450M DS3H
XPG ADATA GAMMIX D30 DDR4 16GB RAM (2 X 8GB)
500Gb HHD (I already have this from my old pc)
WD green 240 gb 2.5 inch
SATA lll ssd.
Pls recommend a psi for this.
With and without any update in future.
May update to a rx570 gpu. ( it’s rare but who knows the future).
Let me know psi with and without the gpu.
any decent bronze or gold psu at 550w will be good for that build, regardless if you will put a gpu in it or not
sir would you recommend cx550 with 1660s ,ryzen 3600 and 2 sata? tnx.
ok naman although I would feel more comfortable with a cx650
@@hwsph i think more than enough na ang 550 but for future upgrade mas better ang 650w , thank you sa advice, btw may dalawang clase pala ang cx, meron din cxm
Thank you so much! This helped me a lot!
Hey man,
I'm currently living in a country that have the worst electricity (worst than you can imagine).
@@hwsph Thank you for the help! Really do hope that this solves my problem, much love homie. ♥️
@@V-3 no prob bro, hope it works out
Yo do you thing its fine to use the green cx750 that I've had for 5 years for a new build. Heard a bunch of people complaining about it saying its not but the Amazon and bestbuy reviews are good. And its been flawless for me
since it's working fine for you that's golden, no need to change it
@@hwsph what kind of protections does it have? Like over voltage and stuff. And also I've had it on a 980 and quad core cpu so its never really been pushed, 3080 will definitely push it. So like idk it might a bit risky to use it a power hungry 10600k ans 3080
Hi I have a Corsair TXM850 is this a type 3 or type 4? how can I tell

i was gonna get a cv 550 to power up ryzen 5 2600x , and a 1660 super but now im scared 😂 can you suggest a better psu or is cv enough to run it. also do i still need a avr in 2020 ?

building a pc for my nephew, with PSU its the length of warranty i like with corsair products, dropping down from an RM unit that i have in my rig to a cx 650f rgb for new build still has 5 year warranty that's good for me
Which one you think is the best?
I'd get an RM750 and call it a day.
@@hwsph why rm? I think Txm is alright since it’s less cable
@@MrBestygaming what about the TXM?
@@GlacidRumble for a semi-modular, yes it's okay. But if you can stretch your budget a lil bit, go for RM instead. It's just a $5 difference.
