A few years ago I was telling a friend that it would be great to see a synchronized skating performance in the huge subway concourse under Broad Street ("Avenue of the Arts) in Philadelphia, thinking it would be perfect for our Fringe Festival. Watching this is like seeing a dream come to life.Though my vision was far less ambitious, mostly weaving back and forth between the steel columns along the concourse.
Didn't know this existed,roller skating at rainbow gardens in Crystal Michigan was one of my favorite memories of my childhood, I learned how to skate in my parents basement with metal clip on skates attached to saddle shoes,
WOW, I've never seen this kind of synchronized skating before! Have I been livin' under a rock or what? LOL! It's cool, I wonder if this sport will make it in the Olympics one day?

Precision figure skating is much harder and you're not limited by the wheels. it's incredible that this is a sport with the roller skates! Not often seem like this off ice it's fascinating!
I feel like they really have to pay close attention to that so they don’t lock wheels. Locking wheels is a super big hazard in roller derby at least so I can’t imagine with this stuff.
To be fair, I know nothing. But in my experience, rollerblading feels a lot like ice skating; roller _skating_ feels *nothing* like ice skating. This blows my mind.
Magnificent! It looks fun too! Too bad i don't have the amount of friends to replicate that kinda thing. Or even that much roller skating friends for that matter. 😅😆

Oh man, I was waiting for a magic costume change turning the black dresses into the color of their under-skirt. That would've been an awesome visual. Still really cool tho.
In a synchronized skating team there are 16 skaters that perform on the floor and up to four extras. This team had one extra. She skated at the beginning and then took a bow in the end because she is still part of the team! Her presence during practice was probably very useful, she deserves to be applauded like all her teammates.
None of them had shin pads on or elbow pads or helmets. Now I am not up to date with roller skating laws but mum always told me I can't leave the house without them.
Lol I have done a synchro program to "somewhere over the rainbow" before, granted, it was not at this level and was on the ice, but damn if the styles of skating between on and off ice aren't similar

This is like a cross between ice dancing and being a Rockette. The training has to be so intense. These women are serious athletes!
