As an ex ballet dancer *THANK YOU!* people do not understand how much strength specifically Core strength needed to do ballet. You're literally holding your own body weight the entire time while making sure to look Light like a feather. Ballet dancers who dance heavy & have horrible lines irritates my soul. I instantly understand why my ballet dancer went OFF when someone looked heavy, didn't point & have horrible Technique even if you looked good doing it *Cries because someone finally sees the difficulty of ballet* 😂

The only problem with the gift of flexibility is that it more often than not is linked with hyper mobility or Elhers-Danlos. I have the later. I did 10 years of ballet as well as gymnastics in high school and University… I’m now 48 and still very flexible despite being a cripple on morphine as I over extended and abused my body for so many years.
I hope young dancers and gymnasts take better care of their body than we did back then.
As per Sylvie, she’s my hero for her personality and her multiple talents.
I loved her the most in Sacred Monsters with Akram Khan. Their chemistry and intuitive understanding of eachother’s intentions and moods is mind blowing.

I have watched this reel several times and each time I feel like I experience something new deep inside of me. The thought that keeps coming into my mind is destiny. Her dancing isn't just good form and technique she learned during her childhood in this incarnation. This is several lifetime of practice and performing in this craft of movements and expressions called ballet to reach the pinnacle of perfection in our lifetime. She dances for God and we are just lucky enough to live in a time where we are able to witness it via RUclips or live. She is a gift to humanity. Thank you for putting this complication together.

EXQUISITE! BRAVA! BRAVISSIMO! A Feather couldn't move more graceful on a gentle breeze. She captures the very Essence of music which is EVERY Dancer's aspiration. We make (or TRY to make) our bodies BECOME the Music and make it look effortless. If I can become a visualization or physical embodiment of the music for you AND you can Honestly say, "that LOOKS So easy!" I've done my job. Sylvie is the Consummate dancer/Prima Ballerina, the crown princess of Any ballet company. Watching this has motivated me to don my pointe shoes again at 62. I still dance but re-training to go en pointe is a rather exciting concept as I know what I'm in for. Thank you Sylvie for your inspiration! I'm stoked!
