Putting Energy Siphon on Lavos is a weird flex, but a respectable one
i used to love lavos when he first came out, and i still think hes really cool, but i hadn't used him in years until i looked at my build for him last night, and i did honest to god have energy siphon as my aura. what was me from 3 years ago doing? why did i do that? what did i think it was going to accomplish?

Protip for Lavos: when using combine elements, you dont need to add them one by one, just hold both ability keys. And yes, the element from the augment combines with the modded elements on the weapon if you have single elements there.

@@gem6222 Check if you keyboard has n-key rollover. If you have a membrane keyboard it probably has 2 key roll over or some limitation with keys within the same row (an old keyboard of mine had this issue)
Honestly, as someone who learnt the speedrunning method it's surprisingly simple.
Long story short, the pylons go down to either nightwatch napalm or the zenith's infinite punch through, then you pile as many elements as possible onto an exodia contagion zaw and a burst damage secondary (magnetic tenet displos is the preference). The legs are alloy armor so you want to mod your archgun for pure radiation, and the whole combo is topped off by running eclipse...
Which means that 1 minute times aren't possible anymore because you can't oneshot the pylons after the eclipse nerf.
Part of me now wants to set up a collection of hotkeys and run lavos, just to see how well he compares to volt and chroma with all the other speedrun gear.
the part about eclipse is actually not true, believe it or not we lost only 1 second (WR is about 51s-50.8s). now its way stricter with rivens, and alot more skilled, and old eclipse was way more fun but the runs didnt actually lose any time
With what frames were run though?
@@rivershen8954 we still run volt, forgot to say. you dont really have an option in speedrunning solo unfortunately, volt speed affecting archwing is just too good, other frames will get maybe 53-54s tops without speed and thats if youre the goat of PT

Should be mentioned that the augment combines its element with anything already present on the weapon, so make sure your weapon is pure slash/punc/imp. Also, the guaranteed status proc from the aug is separate from the damage.
Example: Your weapon deals radiation and you try to add heat with Lavos aug. This will now deal more radiation, but with a guaranteed heat proc (which is why there was a lot of ”grey” damage in the video, despite the Lavos element being correct)
you could probably run containment breach (the radiation/multishot mod) since the rad mods apply separately from heat or electric
Lavos Prime may be coming later this year, so this'll be very handy!

the augment basically acts like a free element mod on the gun with guaranteed status procs, so it'll combine with other elemental mods you already have on the gun. Which is why it wasn't working sometimes on profit taker's shields.
I'll be perfectly honest here, I can't wait for Lavos Prime. He has low key been a frame that I constantly go back to and have fun with.
Lavos' 3 makes ammo universal, so archgun with 0 issues for the whole fight
The new Lavos augment actually pairs really well with the Gotva Prime’s gimmick of 15% chance of red Crit after including a status effect.

So, fun thing about the augment, it boosts the damage of DoT's, which makes it the only elemental mod to boost the proc damage of gas, and does boost the damage of procs from his abilities too. Also, being an augment, it will work in Grendel missions.
Omg, this haven't even crossed my mind when Weapons Platform Lavos was going around. Also, nice flex with the Energy Siphon. Keep it up!

Oh neat, that actually confirmed the questions I had about the augment. When I read it originally my first thought was that it would be amazing for PT since all you would need IPS. Then the update came out and I promptly forgot about the augment and never tested it lol. Probably going to steal this build just to keep around since PT was never my favorite fight, but the augment seems to make it a lot easier.
You’d be better off using volt he’s the best frame for profit taker objectively
I mean... I did a 4 Minute Run with the Default Archgun you get from The Tutorial.... I would Say it was Already Easy.... It's Actually Borderline Brain Dead at this Point.

I havent done this in a while, but the last time i played the Mausolon was able to shoot the Pylons from range through their shield

People are "screetching" about the dante nerfs? Jesus man I was kinda sad but if you do what any true gigichad does and just put as much ability strength on him as possible at the cost of everything else, he still gives more overguard than you'll probably ever need, amd the nuke was too much anyways
ive noticed that sometimes, even if i have the right element for the profit taker, it still doesn't do damage for some reason

Lavos is one of my favorites. Him being the original Cooldown frame is note worthy. His kit is well rounded and doesn't have the current WF kit shenanigans, and is a look at if DE just implement a large balance pass on WF kit design.
With his mixing mechanics, if you're not using a mouse with hotkeys (at the very least Back and Forward) you're not going to have fun with him. Having one hand have immediate access to 2 elements is a lot better than finger contorting your left on the keyboard to do combos involving electric and heat.
or just learn to use more than one finger at a time.
@@DavidUtau yeah hence the point of being able to use the mouse. doing it all with the keyboard hand WHILE ALSO moving is tough especially when you involve electric and heat. toxin and cold are fine but when using the other 2 to mix got to shift hands off of wasd to mix 2 at the same time.

There's some arcane that proc off status effects. Like Melee Influence. I wonder if Lavos can stack the arcane buffs.
Try Vastilok with Lavos and melee influence

So now we can just build the Archgun for pure damage+Radiation and Lavos's Augment act as the universal key to bust open every lock!

So if you mod a weapon for lets say, corrosive and heat, and try to apply just cold onto it with lavos, it combines with the heat to make blast, so you have to be careful how you mod your weapons with lavos.
Is that why it's Not Working ? 🤔

I don’t know if this is true, but if your weapon if modded for something like viral heat or whatever, using valence for like cold, the cold and heat will combine into blast instead of cold+heat. tho the elements were just an example, i THINK this is how it works

I gues lavos now is a mandatory frame with that augment against profittaker.
Damage combines i believe but procs are separate.
yeah i ahd a similar issue i used toxin infuse and corpus didnt take any hp dmg besides from the dot

Haven’t finished the video but I think I know why you couldn’t deal damage with heat or toxin. For some reason if another part of you kit out damages your current weapon it will sometimes deal no damage. My viral operator arcane gets me all the time with this because my amp’s alt fire deals not viral damage than anything else in my kit even if the arcane hasn’t proced (procced?)
Just like, staring at the primed dmg mod sitting there not equipped wondering if you didnt put it on cuz not everyone has it lol
i wish de would make health tanks viable for lvl cap, i love lavos but there can be some issues.
So, I did this myself, and I realized something...
When doing the basic elements when they came up, PT just...didn't take damage.
I think it might be because the basic elements from Valence Formation try and combine with the elements I have on my archgun...even though the only damage types I've modded on it are Viral and Radiation...but in reality, I dunno
This is just my experience, of course, if anyone else is willing to help compare notes, feel free to let me know
For reference, my build for this on Lavos is roughly the same as the first build that was shown, save for the Aura and instead of the normal vitality and steel fiber, I went with the umbral set, for more armor
And also my archgun of choice was Imperator Vandal (it damages so fast-), as previously mentioned it's only been modded for radiation and viral in terms of extra damage types, although it can deal impact, slash and puncture fairly well whenever homegirl mc "robo-spider" here decides to cycle to either of those
To me this is a gamechanger, I keep forgetting wich weapon is what element xD and sometimes I acidently use a "bugged" weapon like the radial portion of the sporelacer don't dealing damage.

honestly the problems surrounding overguards anti-synergy with chroma just proves even more that he needs a rework imo, not at all dante's fault.

huge respect for not dogpiling more whining about the nerfs (not that i think you're a whiny person, actually i expect you have a way more rational take than most of the forums), because most people have already heard enough about it and i enjoy these faffing around videos way more than most other warframe content.
I only decided to give Lavos a try because of TheKengineer... Lavos is now within my top 3 frames, ESPECIALLY after his newest augment
Edit: I made my Lavos into an Umbral build, and it facetanks on par with Inaros

Also, "umbral build" on lavos is kind of a waste. But that might be subjective, IMO all umbral mods are moh, why waste slots in health and armor when you got better things to mod for.

To be fair, our "screeching" is necessary. Its not about the Nerfs, its the baseless excuses and continuing indifferent attitude towards already opressive frames. Along with them NOT fixing bugs before making Nerfs.
DE: "We don't want Warframes that Automate, Disrupt, or Dominate gameplay.
Also DE: Allows MESA to be an instant aimbot in any direction, Octavia to have infinitely scaling damage on an automated rolling robot that both tracks and attracts enemies to it. Mirage lays traps that invalidate Survival, Sanctuary, and any Defense map, which is all fucking 3 of the things DE "doesn't want." Limbo continues to exist and is abysmal in his existence (people wouldn't be as upset about Limbo if he was actually fucking useful). Along with Saryn and Wisp completely dominating gameplay across the board. I thought for once DE was going to have a Male frame which felt good. But of course, Dante doesn't have ass or tits, so, back down to A tier you go nerd.
The only, ONLY thing Dante was dominant at is the base star chart. Once enemies get to more difficult levels, around 150+ His survival is ABYSMAL because all that protects him is overshield, which even at 50k over shield, this was BARELY enough for 150+ let alone going to max. The issue is that most people played him in Sanctuary and star chart where ANY FRAME can be oppressive and powerful.
Try the steelpath Assassination Mission with The Fragmented. Dante is useless since the Boss wipes away all overshields with multiple abilities. Nothing in the normal star chart can counter overshields, it's a new mechanic. The Mechanic is what is strong, not the frame.
I used to think the whole "female frames are more powerful than male frames" was a joke, but here we are, with further evidence that everything Dante can do, another frame can do better. There are 5 frames that have been top tier for fucking YEARS with automated, disruptive, and dominant gameplay, and yet, here we are arguing about the NEWEST one, as opposed to the old ones that have had literal YEARS to perform at their peak.
The Nerfs don't upset us. It's the fucking baseless excuses.
My biggest complaint with this Dante patch is that DE decided to sent out the nerfs BEFORE fixes. Wordwarden doesn't apply the Canticle mods (a core feature of the weapon and Dante's kit) and there are the blinding fucking spinny words (happens in your video at 2:43) that happen for no reason all the time. It is a fucking kick in the teeth.
Just saying; i unsubscribed after about 6 or so years, not because of your content (i really enjoy it) but because of the absolute shit show DE had been with the Dante nerfs and how they treated the community over it. I'll miss your content but such is life. I wish you all the beat in life.
