      Don't forget Jennings Motorsport! He's done some epics, electrocuted, fires, wrestling with 50's engines locked and untouched for 60 years and some real old stuff!! Not the got the production polish but he's getting there....plus he sounds so much like Trey Gowdy it's ridiculous!

    I love these old Chevy's. In the late 70s, I had a 65 wagon with gray primer spots on it. That car drove like a powerful cloud. How could we have known??? Time travel back to 1972 and bring a few SS 396s back to today!!! Thanks so much for keeping these magnificent cars alive Mr. Mortske!

    That motor and transmission are solid 👌. Rest needs to be hauled to compactor. One thing about GM V8s is the distributor placement. I really loved crawling on top of the motor to set the points, not to mention if you opened the hood after a rain , water would run into the distributor. Oh fun times.

    In 1974 I bought a pristine grampa car. 1967 Belair 4dr, 250/6cyl 3 on tree, am radio, under dash ac. It had 42k on clock. In the era of 55mph it was perfect. Served me well for years. Solid car, built up your arms with that Armstrong Power Steering.

    Since the premiere of the TV show "Supernatural" 67 Chevy Impala 4 drs have been sought after so the new owners can clone them into the one that was in the show. Some buyers have made offers that the rest of us would find insane.

      Yep, which is why it's so hard to find them. I like Supernatural too and Dean rocking the 67 Impala. Chevy just didnt make enough of them. I wish I had the space for this. Needs a ton of welding on the body but it would be cool to cruise in this!

    The flying mouse motel ran great for minimal fiddling, who new it was going to run that good, the rest needs to go into the shredder, no offense to those who love a good rust bucket. Duff seems to like old Chevys no matter how nasty, all the debris kicking up during test drive had me choking, note to self, N95 for mouse motel test drives.

    I had a '70. Bought it with unknown miles and full of bondo. Was green, and the floor pan was rotted out driver's side. Like this one, it ran and drove great. I glued a galvanized sheet to the floor with some 5200 and forming it with a deadblow hammer and drove it for a few years until it developed a rod knock.

    Damn Kevin you brought back more memories that was the same exact car same color sitting in the yard of our business we worked at and I had a 67 Scout right hand driver that needed a motor we cut the K member to size pulled everything out and welded it right in the Scout we even used the crossmember on the transmission and cut the driveshaft down what a great swap the only thing that we screwed up on was when we put the motor in with the crane we touch the windshield with the tail shaft of the transmission and busted the windshield. Other than that one of the best swaps known to a 67 Scout. It was the best two wheel drive mud hog in South Florida. Oh yeah and speaking of 14in tires at the time we had the best recap shop known to man, it was actually called Roadrunner Tire company and they stood behind their Recaps they even had 60 Recaps they didn't fly off they'd burn straight down to the core man and they were sticky as hell. Keep making these great videos Kevin I get a big laugh out of a lot of the stuff but seriously I just enjoy watching you getting the suckers running.

    I'm a mechanic in NZ We had one of these in the shop i was working in. We normally worked on European cars in the shop. So i was told "pull the motor and auto out and there's a reconditioned 350 to go back in". Good this will be easy I pulled the motor and box out and left them hanging on the engine crane while i delivered a customers car. I come back and they are gone. The owner had come with a trailer and taken them away. On the floor is a dirty chev short block, two heads, a pan, a new water pump and a dirty th350 with out a dipstick or tube. Apparently he had already sold the motor. I had to get it running and I did. This is what i had to order for it. A gasket set, engine mounts, crank pulley, head bolt, exh bolts, frost plugs, flexplate and bolts, a starter and the special bolts, Hei dist and leads. fuel pump trans dipstick and tube, trans mount and bolts and nuts for everything. The owner turns up with a glimmer belt and pulley kit a fan and a holley and manifold and an alt and mounting bracket and no F%&^^$*G bolts. etc. WE didn't have a unc or unf bolt in the place, Only metric. I had to check the length of every one. I didn't even get the shift lever on the trans. I had to find a picture on the net and make it and the linkage as it had gone with the motor and box. The i had to take the column apart and make it work for a th350. I got it running and it did. I'd hate to think what it cost him. By the way the motor had only had a ring and bearing job and had the heads planed. not even a valve job. He was taken for a ride. The chevs were never sold new in NZ in any numbers. Most here were private imports, so parts aren't thick on the ground like they are in the states.

    When you passed that row of old farm equipment, trucks, and what looked like the booms of some old cranes that reminded me of when I'd go to the junkyards and wonder what I could make run and drive

    Back when I was driving these things new, the fender vee was a 283, the vee with cross flags was the 327... Who knows no?? Enjoyed the get going, 👍

    • @grand73am
      @grand73am Год назад

      Not quite. Both the 283 and 327 had the same "V" emblem with flags on it. The difference was that the 327 added a separate "327" number emblem mounted above the V. The 283 had no number, just the V.

    I had a '67 Chev Belair 4 door sedan in 1974. Bought it in September with 80k and sold it in December with 93k. I drove that everywhere during the three months I owned it. It was one of the best cars I ever had!

    My very first vehicle ( 65 Chevy C10 ) had a 283 w/powerglide and my old man put that engine & tranny in it, it originally had a 6 banger and 3 on the tree. But At 16 I ran the bag off that old truck and didn’t hurt that engine and trans. !
