- I bought his 1960 Chevy Impala 4 years ago. The license plate sticker says 1985, it's been sitting where parked forgotten almost 40 years. Let's rescue this old car and see if we can get the seized engine running. Will it run after sitting 37 years? First start ! Can it be saved? Will it run and drive again? First Drive next? Follow along the journey of this classic car's revival back to the streets.

Awesome ! The kid was close . Chevy made a 4 banger in 1962 for the Chevy II . Basically 2 cylinders chopped off the engine that's in the Impala . The 4 banger would probably bolt right up in place of the 6 . It's refreshing to see kids working and learning about things like this instead of burying their face in an I phone . Keep up with the great parenting .

That fuel injected, chebby hating cat guy is great. Teach your kid hand signals for running equipment. I remember being the kid trying to hear old men mumble over engine noises. Standardized hand signals are where it's at. That is a beautiful car.

May 28th 1937 Volkswagen was founded, 87 years ago today and you're working on a 1960 Chevy 😂😂. I don't mind though, in 1982 Mom was driving a '60 Parkwood station wagon, Dad was cruising around in a '50 GMC 100 5 window and I was sporting the '67 beetle and my beloved '59 El Camino. Thank God the speed limit was 55 back then 😅. Love the content, keep up the good work 🤙🏽

Love the 1960 chevy impala can't wait to see it move under its own power keep up the good work I'd love to have me an old chevy or ford their the real autimobiles my wife and I use to own 2 1966 chevy impalas the original engines and transmissions was still in them they worked fine I drove one for 2 years but the other one I didn't get to drive it we love antique automobiles

Most 60 Impala's had the 283 V8 and power glide. Not many were built with the straight 6 and 3 speed.

Also you can pour diesel fuel into the motor crankcase it will free up the block crank so and still have a oil-based product solvent to free up sticky parts

👍👌👏 2) Thank you, for trying to make the original 6 cylinder inline engine run. I thank you even more for having a 6 cyl. engine as a back up. Thanks a lot for not putting a V8 in this beautiful car. And I thank you especially for not doing a LS Swap! I'm sick and tired of hearing and watching this! I like those big easy to work on 6 cylinder inline engines. They run smoother than V8s and are definitely strong enough for North American roads. I'm anyway not able to understand all that fuzz about having a lot of horsepower. For what? You're not allowed to drive fast! What is the max allowed speed? 75 miles per hour? One can do this with a Citroen 2CV having only 23 hp and certainly with almost all VW bugs. I'm not joking at all, I'm serious = I'm really thankful.

Standard inline 6 for 1960 was a 235 CID not a 250 that I think you mentioned. My dad had a Belair with the 235 and “three on the tree” manual. It’s what I learned to drive with.

Excellent video Jason :) , Josh :) , Jason friend to yes 250 6 cylinder motor also need strong spark plugs and lots nice spark also constantly plus nice carb to work lots on 1960 CHEVROLETIMPALA car ! Also nice 1968 Chevrolet Car and what did guys run over the fuel tank ? Nice car it shape plus run super too and nice ! I like both cars to always since my childhood years! What is the other engine have for 1960 Chevrolet Impala LS hopefully blur flame 235 6 cylinders motor with 1 or 2 Barrel with hand choke cable knob in dash and bolt up to transmission too!
Other engines for the '60 Impala were the 283ci & 348ci V8s.

Voltage at tge battery could still be 11 or 12 vdc BUT it needs the cranking amps which it probably has not enough.

For the guys who want to learn how to unstuck a motor specially if it's 3 you can put it into second or third with two people push and pull from the front end by hand just rock the car and the motor should do something
