The fact that they sold you a lemon knowing you're a car influencer and thought they can get away with it!? Imagine how many other people have been screwed over...
One thing I’ve learnt is that when you’ve decided you have decided, whether the red flags are there you’ll try to convince yourself otherwise that it’ll be fine.
Also, at least the dealership was willing to get the whole thing resolved, maybe it's because he is a youtuber, some dealerships you have to take them to the auto Ombud for them to accept their nonsense
That dealer did you dirty man. I trust they did not give you trouble because of your popularity. Well done on taking it back. It was gonna still give you trouble. 🎉
This is a lesson that whenever you're planning to purchase a used car especially a high performance vehicle DON'T RUSH and never trust everything the sales executive tell you because that person will say anything to sell you the vehicle also if the vehicle has some sort of overspraying or different shades of the paint just run. Furthermore the signs will always be there, you can't get a warning light within a couple of days after purchasing the vehicle and think "that's just normal"
Yho, I remember reading a story about a lady who bought a range rover for about 800K, only to find a ton of problems, the dealership took her for a tango dance (back and forth), I could hear her frustration from the article as her words were quoted there. hope she came alright. Thanks MrHowMuch, this was proper stuff
Everything was wrong with this car. The technician's rudeness or anger was your uncestors speaking to you, they were angry with you for buying a lemon tree
This is a sad story bro...I was extremely happy for you...we should have an app that shows the history of the car just by scanning the license disc like they do overseas....but don't give up bro
We actually do but unfortunately it's not an app sadly anyway it's called Dekra although don't be afraid to ask for a Dekra report if you buying a second hand car especially if you don't know what you are looking for in terms of the condition of the car and what's missing
Or you can check the car with vinwiki. It'll report any work done by a registered workshop. It saved from a few lemons over the years. Dealerships will argue and say the car is clean, the vinwiki report is wrong. Don't listen to them. Delete their number and look for another car with a clean report
It wouldn’t work either way cause you have instances where people crash cars then they don’t go through insurance, they just take the cars to panel beaters to avoid the cars being written off. After the car is fixed they will mess with the mileage then come back & sell it to unsuspecting people on marketplace & those shady dealerships in Jozi & Durban with funny names🚩🚩
The power VW has over us 😫 its crazy that even as a car guy you can end up buying a lemon.. I have now replaced the gti with an i30N on my vision board 😂
Sales people are the biggest scammers. They probably knew the history of the car and it’s problems but decided to keep quiet. But i am glad you returned the lemon.
Sales people don’t buy the cars, they sell… sales managers buy these cars so sales okes can sell. I can safely say 90% of the time the salesman doesn’t know the history of the car.

Lucky you bro ...For us went bad ..bought a ford focus 2016 model for R150k ..we saw later by the strut tower being different by position and also the bonnet starting to crack(body filler) down 6 months the engine fails and repair cost R25k and fails again it costs another R25k =R50k ...never went back to normal condition or drivable condition ....Avoid accident damaged vehicles at all cost
Crazy how many dealerships do this to customers, and often it doesn't get resolved. The dealership only resolved this because they know how big your platform is, but for someone who's not on social media and RUclips, they don't care. i like dealing with the rude people they are brutally honest, that car was poorly repaired, when people buy cars they cant afford to maintain, i would have risked it and let them fix it up to standard. I'm only saying this assuming the car ddnt have any chassis damage or repairs while vw was still assessing it.
Finally the TCR story ❤🙏

It’s a shame on what happened to the TCR,second hand cars are a risk ,but at least you got Sfiso so replaced by a newer car with lower mileage and not second hand, more peace of mind 🔥.
