These kind of people give me hope. Because you can see that even though he enjoys eating meat, the cruelty involved in producing animal-based foods clearly bothers him. That kind of cognitive dissonance is often the first step in the journey towards ethical veganism. I know it was for me.
@@MustardSkaven Because there is a *world* of difference between "knowing" in an abstract detached way and *truly* comprehending something; grasping it on a fundamental level, in your bones. I "know" the earth is round, but seeing the curvature of the planet with my own eyes is something else entirely. It's the same for animal agriculture. Ed you genuinely bring tears to my eyes. If the only person you can control is yourself then you have to do your best because someone else isn’t. And for you to “kindly sit down” and give people an opportunity to realize this, your ripple effect is huge and inspiring.
Self honesty is the key. If we're being honest with ourselves, it's plain to see that enslaving and taking the life of another innocent sentient being is objectively wrong.
I saw you make a video two years ago and it sent me down a rabbit hole and I became vegan overnight. I’ve never looked back. Thank you - I can’t believe how good I feel now
Thank you Ed. I love listening to you and learning how to talk to people in a more productive way by listening to you. In the way you do it. When we come to the understanding that We are just souls in a body, using the vessel to have this experience on Earth, We then come to terms with the fact that a soul had to occupy all of these vessels of the animals that live these lives, factory farmed in atrocious living conditions. Imagine what that does to the soul, feeling trapped in these ugly incarnations time and time again. Imagine a beautiful world where suffering was reduced and we as souls could truly gain experience in beautiful, natural conditions. This is the movement
The water you drink has living bacteria in it. Everytime you breathe, billions of microorganisms die. Thousands of tress need to be cut to build farms. Thousands of snakes , rodents, birds , rats, worms and other insects are killed to grow crops. I can name countless household items that you have brought and used numerous times that were made of animal products. The device you are using to read my comment is also made of animal products. You still think you are living a " cruelty free " life ?

My hubby watched you randomly one night and woke me up in the middle of my sleep to let me know he wanted to make the change. We started that morning each meal at a time I’m so thankful for you opening my eyes to the animal abuse I was causing on the daily for a 15 minute meal. Wish I could keep my composure as well as you though…as soon as I see someone eating meat I think animal abuser…..which is awful because I don’t want to see everyone that way. I don’t want to judge them instantly because they may be like how I used to be an simply not know. Ed seriously do you have any ideas on how I can properly word my questions or answer questions without seeming so judgmental right off the bat?!?! I don’t want to be that vegan that’s turns others off of veganism but as of right now I know I am. 😩📢 ugh
Acquiring animal products don't necessarily involves animal suffering. People who should be held accountable are the people from the Ministry of Agriculture and not the actual consumer. Are you insane?? If we can perform painless surgeries, we can surely slaughter animals painlessly. If vegans cared about suffering and not just pointed fingers, you would put pressure on the government for stricter rules when it comes to animal welfare. And a lot more people would join...even meant eaters. And also a lot fewer people are needed to make the government do something instead of debating people on the street. I guess, Ed wouldn't have an audience for his videos and and whom he would sell his books to if he had chosen the real practical approach 😂😂
@@LisaCooper-thevegan-123 There's a need! I like the taste and it's far more healthy than the synthetic meat. No pain for the animal and pleasure for me...the conclusion is only one. The vegan Gospel is so illogical it's almost as illogical as the Christian gospel. Congrats!👍😂
@@youtubehatesfreespeech2555 You're wrong, there's pain and death for the voiceless animals, just because you like the taste?? Did you know that pigs are gas chambered for Bacon? Have a good day!😢🙏
@@LisaCooper-thevegan-123 Why most vegans run away before the discussion has even started? This is the thing which annoys me the most. If you care about suffering, why are you fine with the cruelty of Nature? We live in a material universe which doesn't care about consciousness, that's why we are at odds with one another and when conflict of interests is happening, suffering is bound to happen as well. That's why I think vegans don't really care about suffering, you care about feeling good about yourself. The most ethical thing to do is to not have kids and to exit life the best way you see fit for yourself. That's strictly personal. That's why I can't tell you what to do or how to handle life since I am not you, the only "must" morally speaking is what I just said...not having kids since that would continue the Circus which we want to prevent. Extinguishing all consciousness is the most ethical thing to do. That's strictly personal when it comes to humans who are aware enough of the problem...all the breeders should be treated humanely as possible in with the sole aim of our collective extinction. With animals it's the same. In the meantime, we can do what we want and imposing any moral lecturing is stupid considering the problem is that we are here in the first place. Me wanting meat and only because acquiring that meat might cause suffering is only additional piece of evidence that conflicting interests are everywhere. There's nothing intrinsically bad about eating meat. The same way there's nothing intrinsically bad about any action. It's the conflicting interests which are causing the suffering. That's why I say Antinatalism is the course of action which we should take, anything else is missing the point.
This discussion really shows your talent for listening. The follow-up questions you asked were perfect, and tailored to exactly what they were talking about. I feel a lot of us will tend to reply back to people we're talking with, with arguments against what we wanted them to say. If that makes any sense?
It's crazy when you think about how much of a difference you can do just by convincing someone to go vegan. I convinced my company of 1000 people to have the option between a meat lunch (the status quo) and a vegetarian one (they wouldn't do vegan unfortunately). And after a short while 1/3 of the company decided to eat vegetarian lunch daily. That's approximately 300 meat meals 5 times a weak. So many animals spared.

Hi Ed! My partner and I are vegan, but somehow have never discussed animal testing during the development of human medication. We ended up quite stumped, as not having any animal tests and going straight to paid human trials would also risk moral issues of taking advantage of potentially desperate humans needing money even though it is still technically their free will (whereas with animals it's forced). Both of us pretty quickly said "We need to hear what Ed has to say about this!". Think that's something you could discuss or do a short informative piece on at some point? Thanks for all the great videos, we love watching them while we eat dinner! 😊😊

Thanks so true! My restaurant bills when hanging out with friends are always the lowest of all my non vegan friends*
I started watching your videos about a month ago and immediately went vegan. So grateful for your channel and opening my eyes to the things that are hidden from us and not spoken about enough.
What a refreshing conversation and a smart, compassionate dude! He can make it 🙏🏼
Beautiful open minded compassionate human!
These kind of people give me hope. Because you can see that even though he enjoys eating meat, the cruelty involved in producing animal-based foods clearly bothers him. That kind of cognitive dissonance is often the first step in the journey towards ethical veganism. I know it was for me.
These kind of people make me lose hope in humanity.
How can an adult or near-adult not know WTF goes on in animal farming?
@@MustardSkaven Because there is a *world* of difference between "knowing" in an abstract detached way and *truly* comprehending something; grasping it on a fundamental level, in your bones. I "know" the earth is round, but seeing the curvature of the planet with my own eyes is something else entirely. It's the same for animal agriculture. You can "know" what goes on without actually comprehending it.
@@MustardSkaven There is so much advertising and messaging promoting the fact that it's all okay. The 'Happy Meal' is great marketing and McDonald's is the world's largest distributor of toys, with one included in 20 percent of all sales. Dead animal companies are very powerful. People are all messed up.
@@baza0 Happy meals are for kids, try again.
@@COLDCHEMICALpresents So watching Dominion and Earthlings isn't enough? Since this is just knowing in an abstract way?
You expect people to go into animal farms?
This thoughtful young man hardly needed Ed to prompt him. He talked himself right into going vegan.
2 sweet human souls there...blessings & love to all beings ❤
Ed you genuinely bring tears to my eyes. If the only person you can control is yourself then you have to do your best because someone else isn’t. And for you to “kindly sit down” and give people an opportunity to realize this, your ripple effect is huge and inspiring.
Thank you for all you do for the animals ❤️
Great job Ed. Thank you for speaking up for the animals. Love you✌️.
Finally a smart, honest and moral person!
Ed you are a great man and always very patient with others.
Pleasure can never justify creating victims. Never. ❤️
quite a dramatic statement ... except the pleasure is wrongly accused of what the physiological imperative has done
Then why are you creating victims of child labour and slavery by buying electronics?
True that 🌱🤙🏼
You're ignoring nutrition. Most won't make the transhuman adjustment required to support as infantile an ideology as veganism.
How is compassion infinitile?
This guy didn't come to you for a debate , he came (subconsciously) for a push & you gave it to him
Changing the World one person at a time! 🌎 BRAVO Ed Good Work!!! 👏👍
Ed, that was absolutely brilliant. I love you bro'
this is guy is so intelligent and pure hearted. if he doesn't feel like learning to cook plant-based i can do it for him 😅
Self honesty is the key. If we're being honest with ourselves, it's plain to see that enslaving and taking the life of another innocent sentient being is objectively wrong.
I love to have pork chops 🥩🍖🥩🥩🍖🥩🥩🥩🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖 and chicken drumsticks 🍗🍗🐓🐔🍗🍗🐓🐔🍗🍗🍗🍗🐓🐔🍗🍗🐓 for dinner, hmmm yummy.
What a nice satisfying change to see a person who is already there making their final steps towards not harming animals anymore. Keep it up Ed 👍
It’s so frustrating to help people understand what we’re doing to innocent beings. I think you’re lovely. I’ll be watching, you and learning and cheering you on.❤❤❤
I needed to see this today 🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank you!!! Conversations like these don’t happen often so it was so wonderful to see someone actually getting it. Makes my heart feel full of light for the animals 🥦🥬🪴🌱 thank you! So glad you offered to help him with resources and the like! He will need it to be vegan in this world!
I think it’s safe to say this one wasn’t even a debate, he knew deep down what was right from the very beginning and just needed that nudge into veganism. What a great guy! Well done for providing the nudge he needed Ed, who knows how much longer he would have sat on the fence if it hadn’t been for your presence that day? 🙂✌🏻
This is so eloquent! I agree
God bless this man; it's overt he's open minded and willing to actually think, and that is incredible. To see him change his perspective and come to terms with the consequences of his eating habits is truly something positive to witness. Kudos to Lucio. It's rare to see humble and down-to-earth people like this nowadays, thank you Sir!
I learn so much from these videos on how to respond with a logical argument and staying clam and kind at the same time. Ed you are wonderful.
Ed is the king of calm and kind :)
beautiful place you have been there, nice background, even the water white noise sound :)
What a fckng G
Feels good when they're transparent & honest
I too have always enjoyed cooking, but since going vegan I have enjoyed cooking even more. Cooking vegan is so much more enjoyable knowing you caused no harm to animals.
"I eat meat, I love meat. Uh, pause.. but I--" I've never seen someone sneak in a "pause" so casually before.
hahaha right? he kinda real for that
Love love love civil conversations between people with different views and learning from each other instead of hating each other for our differences. Differences need to be celebrated and shared!!!! ❤️💯
Wow he’s so close, just gotta take that next step and put a little effort in! Love this one
😩📢 ugh
Thank you Ed! Planting the seed of kindness for ALL the animals 👌✌️🙏♥️♥️♥️
@@youtubehatesfreespeech2555 There's no need to slaughter the animals at all! Painlessly?? What a load of tosh lol🤣
What does it mean to you when a animal is not butchered for the meat and etc. By products of meat industry?

Great debate, great arguments. Liked and shared in hope to convince even more people out there!
It's so impressiv to see the success of your outreach, Ed. So refreshing and so good to see someone who cares about how he treats innocent animals! He knows a lot, but what is most important is that he is connecting with our precious siblings.
Great interview 💚💚
Thank you so much precious vegan brother for all the precious, wonderful work you’re doing in this world.
Love you 💚🌱💕🐟🐖🐓🐄🐐🕊
i believe ed may have adressed this in his patreon q&a's
Wow, what a legend. Hopefully not just a cooperator. He seemed to really get it on his own without the usual blocks and excuses. Good for him! I hope he becomes an activist/advocate for animals 👍

Killing someone painlessly is still an egregious rights violation. I’m sure you don’t want to live in a world where it is considered moral to murder painlessly. Why is it ok to do it to other sentient beings? It’s not.
