Coolant temperature sensor! If that sensor is not reading right. Will cause problems with cooling the engine. You need a scan tool to see what it's reading. Especially after reaching operating temperature. Head gaskets are pretty much simple to diagnose. Smell the coolant! If you smell cognac. Exhaust gas is passing to the coolant. There is a tool that detects exhaust gas in coolant. Diesel mechanic here! The coolant temperature sensor also tells the fans when to run. If they run when the engine is cold. That's another sign it's bad. Versus telling them to run well after the thermostat is fully open.
Think it could've just been an air bubble in the coolant system? Have you driven it much since changing the thermostat? The previous owner on my 09 fx50 had the radiator replaced a little before I bought it and I immediately noticed the water sound in the dash when I drove it. It took me a good 5 tries to bleed the system before the water sound stopped coming back. Also thanks for the videos, they have been helping me a ton with the ownership of my fx50!
Could u give us what miles it had when u bought it? Does it have a clean title? How many owners? How many services u have done. I love your videos and know u are very loving of your cars. But dude give the core info please.
When your reservoir gets full and your car is running hot, then the circulation is not working. The Water must drain out the reservoir, but isn't so I guess sth got stuck in the drain hose or the water pump isn't working.
My fx35 still has a coolant issue with new Rad, New Cap, New Fans, new hoses etc.... its strange because its not leaking anywhere, but i have to siphone out form the reservoir to the radiator every now and then.
@@EdBwoy You think its a headgasket issue? Tfor my FX, i'm not losing any coolant, its just not being sucked back into the Radiator once its in the overflow tank, i changed the cap a few times, i just ordered one more just in case and will test that. If not, i may pour a bottle of Blue devil in there. I'm pretty much done with this issue and dont wanna think about he worse case scenario.
I bet!!! Even though it's a pretty rock solid engine... Not a fan of VQ35 for that reason. You have to bleed the coolant system and water pump is inside front engine housing. VK45 water pump outside no bleed necessary. Now the valve covers that's a different story lol. I know you said etc...does that include the water pump. Also have you tried putting a bleed valve in the line you may have an air bubble or two causing pressure imbalances on cap.
@@DTUFINOPhotography I can't say for certain, but there are ways you can test that. I would consider taking it to a good mechanic for a diagnosis before you spend too much on parts that won't solve the problem
@@EdBwoy Agreed. I'm taking to a mechanic in a bout a week or so, but due to people being ripped off, its hard tot ell when they say "you have a blown head gasket"... especially when i have 0 symptons of a head gasket failure.
Nothing major at the moment. One day while driving it aggressively, I got the temperature needle all the way to max, so I know I have some engine teardown in my future, but it is still driveable. I just don't plan any long trips with it any more.
@@EdBwoy Taking my FX35 to get the headgaskets done, doing the headgaskets, waterpump, gallery gaskets, chain, valve cover gaskets etc.... for 3500.00 Biting the bullet because i dont want to buy another car. I already own mine.
Yes I think ots still a good deal Im really trying to figure out what it could be wrong y my 2007 M45 is not cranking I will not selling at all alot of ppl have been stopping by my home asking if they can buy it but the answer is no I'm sorry can't want do it.. I love my car can't wait to drive it I had just put new tires on it and now its just sitting here I hate that tho. And I got so much on my plate right now but I know I must get it running sooner then later actually soon before I be delivering my baby at home and I dont want that at all so I got to get it up and running I have missed several doctors appointment and I know I'm a high risk pregnancy im in the process of trying to pay for a midwife to come to my home which I hate but I have to do what I have to do to ease my mind on my unborn child right now.
I've asked you to send me an email in my other responses. But if you have tried everything I suggested, I would honestly just take it to a dealership for diagnosis. It is usually a flat fee for things like this, and it is way better than just throwing parts at it guessing. Then you can decide whether it is a problem that can be handled outside or if you will pay their rates
@@EdBwoy Yeah I didn't see where u told me to send u a email u asked how many miles and to look at the other video again but yes I totally agree thats what I was trying to avoid not buying parts I really don't need at the moment
To summarize the video, the vehicle developed a coolant issue that I have not fully figured out yet.

Dope Content.. Honestly is rare these days. 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for showing us the difference of sensor, keep up the good video
Much love for honesty!
Thank you. I started this channel to help others. No need to set people up for failure

That is true honesty I love it..
Have you pressed the cooling system?
I tried a few different things, but if I keep it, I will do more testing later
When was the water pump changed? Mine went @108k I have 124k now 2011 fx50

how do you feel about aluminum radiators??? my car has high miles so i’m thinking about being proactive and getting a aluminum one .
They are nice, and offer obvious longevity benefits over the plastic...as long as you can find one for your car, I would do it
My fx35 still has a coolant issue with new Rad, New Cap, New Fans, new hoses etc.... its strange because its not leaking anywhere, but i have to siphone out form the reservoir to the radiator every now and then.
I have mentally prepared myself for the worst of outcomes regarding the coolant system.
