I just think it's incredible how you can paint all these models after they are fully assembled. I have to pain them in sub-assemblies since 2018, these poses are just impossible to paint any other way, and yet here you are, proving me wrong.
I think quite a few people find it strange how I paint fully assembled, but it’s just what I’m used to now. There are some things I leave in sub-assemblies but not often.
I used Contrast paints wrong. After i see your vidoes, i'm really excited. Start with the beast of nurgle. Now i try Be'lakor. Will report how it works
Just got this figure for my birthday as an act of humiliation. Literally I have no experience in painting Warhammer figures whatsoever, and just realized what (exciting) challenge stands in front of me. I barely satarted my scale modeling adventure (WW2 Armor) at the age of 38. Your video helped me a lot, mostly to understand what skills and approach I have to develop to be able to pull it off. I already see the differences between painting media, especially the ones I already know from armor modeling and seeing the ones you used in your work. I'm excited. Thank you for being a guide for me on this matter, I learned a lot and slowly lurking into other vids you have to learn more. Can you recommend some simple figures which could be my training ground to develop Warhammer figures painting skills?
It's hard watching painting tutorials while trying to paint 😂 Wait a minute, I gotta pause real fast and do this hour long process. We'll be right back....
Loving the tutorial, so many blacks! This is definitely being added to the ole reference bank. Also interesting to see how you actually mix your paints, would you recommend a well palette instead of parchment paper? Are there any pros / cons relative to one another? Great work as always, thanks for posting x
Not for Contrast paints no. I recommend keeping water as far away from Contrast as possible as it does weird things to the paint in the thinning process.
@@Warhipster yeah I found that out the hard way once, what about in those wee plastic trays with little bowls in them? You can get them from art shops and the Early Learning Centre etc. Mine has dinosaurs on it.
I will indeed! There’ll be new videos from Cursed City most days this week. I’ve got some ideas for some of the new vampire models, though I’ll have to see if I can find the time for them!
Thank you, that’s incredibly kind of you! Liking, sharing and commenting on videos as well subscribing helps out massively too - it all goes to keeping Al Gore’s rhythm happy.
What do you think about using Black Legion instead of mixing Black Templar and Wyldwood? I was wondering since it is an heavy black contrast with some kind of brown and I feel like it should save the coat of Black Templar and Contrast Medium you applied later on the wings.
Is it possible for you to explain the priming technique used a bit more? I get the idea of the zenithal prime, but this looks to be more of just grey seer primer with very little black? Thanks in advance and sorry as this is a 2 year old vid!
I notice in a lot of your videos you use thinef down black templar a lot like you would use something like nuln oil. Is that for the sake of the video being contrast based or do you genuinely prefer it?
I genuinely prefer it - I find the Nuln Oil can sometimes leave a surface looking at little flatter than I’d like, whereas Black Templar adds that depth without ‘flattening’ the piece I’m painting. Hopefully that makes sense!
Brilliant! If you do it and post it to Instagram or Twitter at all, then please be sure to tag me as I love seeing what people are doing off the back of these videos.
@@Warhipster it probbably will be, i've learned alot from watching your silent king tutorial, and used some of your techniqeus on sigvald on a sanqinius model. Also the music on you used under your sigvald vid was so relaxing 😂😂

Thanks for making this!
That’s amazing to hear Kevin! It’s really cool to hear it’s helped you out so much.
I've been waiting for this video and it was well worth the wait!
I’m glad you think so! I’ve been looking forward to sharing this video since I finished it.
Warhipster thanks very much, I now have a fully painted Be’lacor. Your a legend of the hobby !
He's such a massive piece, I guess he deserved such massive tutorial! Great work here, going to apply these learnings to some of my bigger pieces :)
Thank you Pascal! It was a real labour of love putting this tutorial together and I think you’re right, the First Prince deserves every second of it!
Have just purchased a Be'lakor - can't begin to say how helpful this is...although gulp at what I might have bitten off.
I'm sure you'll absolutely smash it, Simon!
Great video, not rushed and an excellent finish! Good job dude
Thanks Conor! It’s always good to hear people are enjoying the videos.
What a precious guide! Thank you very much.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you so, so, so much! Thanks to you and your great vid, my belakor figurine looks incredible!
Picked this beast up the other day. It will be my first large model. I'm going to absolutely rip your technique. Thank you!
Best of luck with Be'lakor Steven and I hope you enjoy it! Rip away, that's why I make these videos after all!
I used Contrast paints wrong. After i see your vidoes, i'm really excited. Start with the beast of nurgle. Now i try Be'lakor. Will report how it works
stunning
Thanks Nick!
Amazing 💪💪💪
Thank you!
Awesome!!!

The Ultimate Bel'akor painting video for the Ultimate Warhammer model.
The Ultimate comment from yourself too! Thanks very much!
Thank you!
NINETY MINUTES OF GOODNESS
I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did making it!

Damn!!! Awesome work, hey I was wondering when are you going to do some of the chaos legions. Great work.
They’re on the To Do list, which seems to keep growing every day now!

Paints listed, if bought new, costs around two more Be'Lakors. Dark Master Approves this! 8-)
How appropriate!
We got warhipster painting the divine general mahoraga before gta 6
My name's still missing off the patreons list :'( lol... Friggin awesome tutorial. Even though I doubt I'll ever go for it myself!!
D’oh! I’ll get that sorted - it’ll not be for a few videos time though I’m afraid as I’ve a bunch ready made and uploaded.
@@Warhipster ah it's cool bro, all tongue in cheek. Happy supporting your content either way :)
It’s given me a couple of ideas to be honest, so thanks for the push! 😁
Will you finished cursed city? All the skeletons and zombies :O Would also love to see some of those new vampire models
I will indeed! There’ll be new videos from Cursed City most days this week. I’ve got some ideas for some of the new vampire models, though I’ll have to see if I can find the time for them!
This is glorious! Well done! I wish I had the extra cash to support you on patreon because you deserve it.

would be nice to how you would paint a stone horn i have done 2 but not really used a lot of contrast paints
I'll add a Stonehorn to the list!
I'm new to this. I am curious to know if pre painting before assembly is a good idea.
What do you think about using Black Legion instead of mixing Black Templar and Wyldwood? I was wondering since it is an heavy black contrast with some kind of brown and I feel like it should save the coat of Black Templar and Contrast Medium you applied later on the wings.
You, sir, should be in jail because this is criminally good!
Haha, you’re too kind Gordon!

I am painting him right now I am on his armor
Whats the back ground music?
I have only watch ten minutes of the video and I find myself wondering why you did not airbrush the wing membrane?
Mostly because I don’t own an airbrush and currently have neither the space nor the inclination to use one - I really enjoy brush painting.
Well you obviously can’t use one if you don’t own one. Great results
Thank you David, I’m glad you like it!
Wahoooooooooowwwwwww 😁🤩🤩🤩

I genuinely prefer it - I find the Nuln Oil can sometimes leave a surface looking at little flatter than I’d like, whereas Black Templar adds that depth without ‘flattening’ the piece I’m painting. Hopefully that makes sense!

Akhelian green, aka sapphire blue lol
It's an interesting one right enough!
Well does this come on time i just got.mine yesterday 😂
Perfect timing then! Hopefully you find the video useful for yours.

That’s really cool to hear! I’m glad you’re liking the music too, I try to go with something I feel fits what I’m painting.
Contrast + how to Paint Blood Knight please
Consider them added to the list!
Belakor, The emo master.
I feel like he and Corax would be friends if they weren’t from opposing factions, and Be’lakor didn’t hate everyone.
