    3:34 If you have a mage or Sorc with High Frigol, it leaves behind ice cubes.
    Throwing those with Devout is not only useful and high damage, it turns it into a potent attack in fights with just one big monster, where it usually doesn't shine.

    Lil tip for dragons foin, you can shoot up slopes to get higher up on cliffs than youre technically intended to. It makes some platforming/climbing sections easier. You can also cancel skydragon with a charged bolt to hold yourself in midair, basically making it a super jump

    Great video. Dragoun's Foin is indeed the best MSH skill. People tend to talk themselves out of taking it as you can traverse quickly via Quick Fot. But you cannot overlook the combination of the two.
    I for one exclusively run Dragoun's Foin/ Skiedragoun's Feste (which i'd consider the second best skill as it can be used to animation cancel)/ Wild Furie/ and Ravinour's Hond.
    Also a tip for controller/non macro users.. you can very quickly get into the spinny normal attack after using a skill with an animation. Like say you use Dragoun's Foin, as soon as you hit the buttons for the skill, start mashing light attack. After the skill hits, you'll instantly go into the spinny attack.

    Fun fact about Dragouns Foin: You can go up slopes and it allows to get to areas that might unreachable without a Springboard Fighter or Levitate Mage/Sorc. I managed to use to get out of a an almost vertical cliff and then open a door blocked by a gate by dashing from a rock at the same height. This ability will probably be very good for speed running since it practically can break the game.

    “Unto Heven is literally useless against big enemies.”
    I thought so as well…until I learned to aim. Even when uou have no enemy to throw you still yeet a ball of energy skyward..if you can aim that ball into a large enemies chest/face you will stagger the fuck out of them (turns out balls of energy with enough force to send an enemy 1000 miles away..kinda fuckin hurt when they hit something)
    It doesn’t make it MUCH better, but it is still something to keep in mind if you run the skill.

    One thing to mention about MSH is how insane you can become if you use the Redouted Bolt all the time, the fact that you get a critical hit on smaller enemies after they are hit for about 2-3 seconds is op early game. Sums up my fighting style early game whenever i met packs of enemies. Just bolt, teleport and critical hit. And repeat.

      Its kind of tricky because you don't do anything like that for other classes. Basically you want to hold RB as much as possible to keep that stun charged for every enemy. Which gets you used to the teleport as well. Fun to get down since you can get anywhere in a second.

    The mirror shield is...dumb. Definitely strong, but also boring. I wish it either A) gave 50% damage reduction or B) had a much shorter time but also activated instantly so that there was more skill involved (kind of like a magic parry). As it stands its so tempting to bring it, but if you do it's basically like a God Mode cheat.
    On another note I REALLY wish that they gave the MS more magic options like the Mystic Knight from 1. At least the elemental buffs would make sense to give it more of magick hybrid feel.

    • @jaybro7530
      @jaybro7530 7 месяцев назад

      This is only the case if you're constantly spamming the ability. Which at that point is a you/skill issue, not a gameplay issue. Boss fights in this game can last anywhere from 3-12min. A fully upgraded shield only lasts 8 seconds, which is literally nothing over the course of a 3-12min fight. Unless, like I said, you're spamming it over and over again. Don't blame the skill, just exercise some self control if you're going to use it. Or better yet, just don't use it at all. It's a *SINGLE PLAYER* game, no one is forcing it down your throat. But to say it needs to be nerfed for everyone because you think it's overpowered is definitely a shitty narcissistic gatekeeping take. Go back to Dark Souls. 💀

    • @SilverDragon1991

      Why not lean more into its namesake by turning Mirror Shield into a counter? Might be busted, but it'd block that instance of damage upon parry activation and any damage for like .5 seconds before bursting.
      The regular burst would do low damage and cause light stagger like an uncharged redoubted bolt in a small area. A successful counter would turn that burst into a higher damage AOE with heavy stagger.

    Honestly one of the most fun things to do with Spearhand is to spam Wild Furie, then as soon as you're low on Stamina bust out the Stamina Drain skill to fully restock and get back to Wild Furie-ing your enemies. This is especially fun with bosses because you can pretty much cheese every single larger monster by just looping those two skills and watching their HP drain faster than you can say "they're masterworks all".
    MS might not be Thief levels of broken, and sadly needs to deal with one of the harder bosses to get its prime DPS skill, but MAN is it fun to use once you get everything you need.

    I'm not sure, my favourite part about the classes in DDDA was how down to earth they were. A warrior didn't have this crazy "smash blade in the ground to make an earthquake" and wizards weren't teleporting around doing crazy melee attacks. This guy looks way too flashy, and honestly feels a bit op when you have a pawn giving you infinite stamina. Might be just that I really miss the mystic knight...

  • @FelisImpurrator
    @FelisImpurrator 7 месяцев назад +2

    Take note though. Moment's Charge seemingly charges your bolt up to full, not the first level charge. The stun there is way stronger, but it takes an absurdly long time normally. So Moment's Charge can be good if you're running with a good healer.

    • @Raptchur
      @Raptchur 5 месяцев назад +1

      What constitutes a good healer? A mage with a wasted skill slot for the heal one person skill? The fact you can charge the stun at all times, makes this skill void on its own. It is far and away the worst skill for spearhand and one of the worst in the game.

    • @FelisImpurrator
      @FelisImpurrator 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Raptchur What are you on about? Literally any healing. It's not as if the game is that hard. Never said anything about needing Argent.
      Other than Skiedragoun, Foin, and Furie, your fourth slot on Spearhand is free choice anyway. At that point it doesn't matter. If your mage runs Paean (and why not), you don't need Ravinour except for convenience. At that point you pick the silly moves for fun, meme with Speregonne for a ranged option, or... Just throw on Moment because it's the one way to get Forbeding Bolt fast enough to keep bosses frozen constantly? No one charges to max level manually because it's so stupid long you actually lose DPS normally over just spamming the previous level. But if you really just hate one dragon in particular (or a group), you could put this on just to be able to cheese it slightly faster with the max charge paralyze.

    I feel like the spearhand skills were a first draft because of how unaligned they are with each other. Think about Unto Heaven and the passives you gain that increase drops rates and increased gold. These two effects are entirely at odds. Not only that, the spearhand feels like it was meant to take on large enemies without needing to climb, yet we have a skill that has a 5 second wind-up to take out a couple small enemies? I literally only use three of the spearhand's skills when I play it. the rest are either gimmicks or a waste of time.

    My hot take is that I don't like pure MS, but I like it when using warfarer. I found that it has a great moveset and some skills for crowd control but struggles against dealing good damage. I usually pair it with thief so I can teleport to a large enemy and use gut and run, however it could also work with archer / magick archer.

    • @WrathofSnackPack

      Which MS skills with MA do you think would work? I’m tryna do a build similar.

    • @_ghostly_
      @_ghostly_ 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@WrathofSnackPack I don't remember the names of the skills but I remember what they do:
      Obviously you want re-armament on an easy to access button.
      The first MS skill I recommend is the one where you create a small bubble around yourself and nearby non-enemies. This skill makes you less of a glass cannon by ensuring some survivability.
      Divine Offering (I think that's the name?) compliments the above skill by tossing enemies that aren't active away. This includes enemies knocked to the ground and enemies frozen by charged R1s. Using your charged R1 to stun groups of enemies allows you have safer lock-ons with magick archer.
      The skill where you teleport above an enemy works great in situations where an enemy is running towards you and it's too late to lock on. It acts as a great punish, dealing more damage than a standard duospear attack.
      The last skill depends on your play style. Remember that you can change skills at camps. The ricochet arrow is great for exploring caves .The healing arrow is a great support skill because it can keep your pawns in combat to draw aggro. The cruise missile arrow is great for direct damage, which the MS lacks.
      Skills are great and all but the main strength of combining MS and MA is how you treat combat. I personally would use the bow whenever possible for the ranged burst damage, and the duospear for close quarters situations.

    Moments charge is much worse than you said. Because charging the stun normally does NOT take 10 seconds, more like a little under 4.
    And you can charge it while doing ANYTHING. You can even charge it while being ragdolled by enemies or doing any other attack.
    So if done properly, the charge tile effectively doesn't exist anyways as you're always charging it while you're doing your combos.

    • @SheenShots
      @SheenShots  6 месяцев назад +2

      Well the first charge takes only a few seconds. But there is an additional more powerful stun that gets charged after 10 seconds. It is sort of a bonus stun for holding it longer. That skill reduces the time from 10 to 0 and grants the "mega" charge if you can call it that. So in theory that's nice, but still the health reduction makes it almost worthless.

      I'm so sad, as a HUGE fan of the original back when I was a teen, I have to say DD2 is overall the worse game. And it saddens me so much to say that q.q
      But it has SOOOOO MANY little mistakes all over. Not design decisions, but straight up half the content being extremely undercooked and because people told them the world was too empty in the first one, they overcorrected and placed enemies EVERYWHERE so you don't even have 5 seconds of walking inbetween fights s.s
