Razing sweep is at least A tier... It has 360 degree sweep attack with massive knockback on the 2nd hit and gets you out of many sticky situations. Being surrounded by bandits, skeletons, goblins or wolves is no longer an issue. It also does very respectable damage to small mobs .Pair this with Provocation augument and you clear mobs very quick. I never play warrior without that skill.
But your regular attack covers like 270 already and stagger lock like every mob when you hit, instead of sending them flying away and having to run up for further damage. I feel like it would be more useful without such massive knock back, as it just stops the flow of battle for me. Why charge up a spin to win when nothing can survive or even escape out of you regular attack spam?

@@yanli111 the thing you and others are missing is there are A LOT of opportunities for environmental damage (example: getting a cyclops on one leg and pushing it so it hits its head on the wall before it hits the ground) and razing sweep sends enemies into walls for more damage so it's better for tight spaces and if you are actively positioning yourself to send enemies into walls when in more open areas. All of that to say if you feel like you have to chase the enemies down you are using it wrong. Maybe the skill just isn't for you but it's not useless
I primarily played Warrior for my first playthrough, and yeah I agree. I would also like to give honorable mention to the regular jump heavy attack. Using regular attacks is often just better DPS with less vulnerability than most skills - excluding Heavensward and Arc of Might. And since DD2 has "follow-up" attacks which are basically special critical hits that do crazy damage and will never miss and don't use stamina, I can see why they went more niche with the weapon skills.
This is the way. Mighty sweep (properly timed), and a (jumping/crit) Stonesplitter are so good I rarely even need to use weapon skills unless I just want to flex and style on whatever I'm already decimating. And the fact that neither costs stamina is absolutely insane. I remember playing as Mystic Spear-hand and really struggling with stamina management (until you unlock Ravinour's Hond obv). But that hasn't been an issue in the slightest since I swapped to Warrior. Definitely my favorite Vocation so far.
@@jaybro7530 I'm really late but as for MSH and the stam. Just don't use the shield. It's what gets you in trouble. It kills the flow of combat as far as im concerned unless maybe you're just constantly using spergonne or whatever its called. Foin, Skedragoun's Fest, Ravinours Hond, Wild Furie. Much more fun playstyle. At least imo obviously But yes i completely agree about the jumping heavy for warrior. I use it more than anything else.
@@Raptchur I don't personally agree with the take most people have about the MSH shield, but to each his own. I'm glad we could agree on the Warrior Vocation though. So cheers for that. 👍
Full agree with this. Heavenward sunder is what you’d use majority of the time. Ravening Lunge for traversal, arc of might for downed bosses/fun. Struggling to pick a 4th skill myself(run a mage otherwise inspirit would be unquestionably 4th) as the basic attacks cover some skills (indomitable lash, and the crowd control spin) although to a lesser extent. If it wasn’t for arc of might, this would be the perfect class to run wayfarer. Just switch to your staff to levitate haha. The skill is just too much fun.
I use tidal wrath. Some things can't be tackled through so the very few instances it's useful. Also inspirit really isn't necessary since you can carry potions with you and it's not even that common except the sleep harpy or fire from dragon. Only other time I felt like it would be good was against spellcasters.
Mountain breaker is very useful for liberating a pawn that's been grabbed by a dragon. It doesn't knock them down but will always at least make them flinch
As of now, still doing my best to level all of the Vocations and find what's right for me. Warfarer is what I'm sticking to as of late, as I'm not a fan of the magic classes (Mage/Sorcerer), but Trickster is what I wanna try... as dull as it is, it's still the most unique Vocation we have next to Spearhand. Warrior has always been a simple, yet rewarding pleasure, being the bonk king/queen, so I'm glad it's far better in 2 than in Dark Arisen
To me arc of might is better than indomitable lash simply bc whenever I fight a dragon, 90% of the time arc of might to the heart and it took 4 health bars away instancely and kill it right away, while indomitable lash can also do the same thing if it hits correctly, but 50 50 tims i try to hit its heart, it register as hitting a leg instead and only took half a health bar
Probably the most improved class compared to its DD:DA counterpart, it is so much fun and rewarding to play. Imagine if there were some different animations for hammers/greatswords, such as for Ravening lunge (maybe after gut punching with the hammer head, lift the enemy overhead while charging, balancing him on the hammerhead. imagine seeing that as a goblin, should wear the brown pants)
When I was levelling vocations, I switched to warrior, had only heavenward sunder. The next time I visited vocation guild I was max lvl warrior and I can't say I was having any trouble. This skill is really warrior's bread and butter and it's so satisfying to use
The inspirit not working on poison makes sense though. Is like a hype up shout that gets your adrenaline pumping, waking you up from debilitations like sleep, been numb from electricity or burn but poison is inside your system no amount of adrenaline rush will stop your body from been poisoned. Although the burn it doesnt make sense either.
Exodus Slash made you virtually untouchable in the first game when compared to Tidal Wrath here, not to mention it had amazing stagger potential if you used it as a counter. That is the skill Warrior needs in Dragon's Dogma 2 to be relevant when compared to Fighter or Trickster for tanking. Don't get me wrong, Warrior is super fun in Dragon's Dogma 2...But the aforementioned Vocations just do things faster and safer
Arc of Might deals super massive damage when the enemy is knocked down, I dealt almost 2 bars of drake's health, it is definitely an S tier. Tidal wrath can only be useful if you use roar. Instead, I just use razing sweep, it is more useful whenever I'm surrounded. Ravening Lunge is basically only useful for beginners, I never use it in my late game. So yeah.. your ranking is ranked C+
it' funny, they fixed the issue of warrior spamming jump slashes for optimal DPS in DD1, only to have a jumping slash attack be its most reliable skill in DD2 XD
Lunge is meh, it’s cool to use for the gears of war sprint, but otherwise it’s meh. Skyward + mountain + lash + inspirt is my go to. You have everything you need to absolutely smash your enemies and keep yourself up. If you’re using the vacation kit correctly you have no use for the other skills. If you’re good at the basic attack timing chain, no need for the skill that’s just a faster version of that. And you should constantly be performing jumping heavy attacks to enemy weakpoints. Plus you can mount enemies, stand on them, and perform a hold button heavy attack to essentially deluvian strike with less hit. Heavy attack downed enemies after performing a lash and they are dead. Heavy attacks performed on enemies who are down or not in combat stance nearly triples the damage and has a unique attack animation
@@TrayGolden true that. I only take inspirirt if I know I’m going into a fight with debilitations. Sweet can also cause major damage to multiple body parts on downed enemies so I love it
@@TrayGolden Mighty sweep essentially does the same thing, and doesn't cost stamina or need to be charged. Sure, it isn't a 360 spin that launches lesser enemies, but if you time the button inputs correctly you can literally walk mobs (including harpies) down, and even alter the direction of your swings as you go to cover you on all fronts. Rendering Razing sweep a waste of a skill slot, imo. But to each his own.
Agreed. I never use it. I'd much rather do a running jumping heavy. I think it looks goofy af for one. It's for running down a trail quickly and forgoing all loot and exp along that trail.
You can use it to grab a dude and launch them into a group to knock them over like bowling pins. It's really nice to have mobility in fights without having to sprint which drains more Stamina.
The Springboard skills would be much better if there was some sort of Coop. Like what if you could send your pawn to a friend then play as your pawn in their world, kinda like Dark Souls/Elden Ring.
It just clicked, fucking 71+ hours and after watching one short video I get warrior now, I'm heartbroken, all the wasted time. Didn't really use Heavenward Sunder because I figure "It's an early game skill, you out pace it after getting more of the other skills right?" Fucking WRONG! Man is literally spitting hot facts, it's the PREMIER skill of the class and solves 85% of all your problems. Hold it right until your going to be hit, and you usually counter and send reeling most large monsters using the repulse core skills. Neat feature, if you have an enemy reeling, get right up on them and barge their ass, they topple easily after 1 or 2 shoulder checks.
I would dare say its a required skill for warrior. Definitely odd since its the first one you use, but without it you lose so much power. Learn to time it just right and every monster gets knocked after 1 or two hits. Nothing quite hits the spot.
I feel like you're sleeping on Razing Sweep a little, I think it's right behind Heavenward Sunder for best skill. JMO though, pretty much agree with Everything else.
It's a hairstyle... If you're referring to how red it is, buy the dye packs from the lady in bakbattahl near the riftstone and give them to the barber lady in the same town. Annoying af you only have access to those colors in bakbattahl but it is what it is.
Maybe I'm just dumb, that is totally possible, but warrior has NEVER clicked for me, I love fighter, thief, mystic spear hand, hell even archer, EVERY physical class I'm a BIG fan of, except warrior.
Big hits arent worth. Use ravening lunge to impale and do big damage on weak point when monster falls over (this does not make them stand back up) then your free to wail on them with chain strikes and land heavy attack crit right after.
So I haven't looked this up or anything, but through my own experience I believe it's super difficult to stagger a dragon with mountain breaker is because dragons get staggered through damage thresholds hitting the heart rather than knock back thresholds like most monsters. And it seems like the hearts heal over time too, so you need to be consistent. Mountain breaker with its high knock down, low damage, and long wind up time is like the exact opposite of what you need to stagger dragons, the heaven sunder is pretty good but I think indomitable lash is best. It takes a while too but it's much higher damage and has an easy time hitting the heart.
@TrayGolden yeah I just recently found out about Dwarven forging so I've been trying to get some gear forged that way. But I'm still pretty sure what matters most with knocking over a dragon is damaging its heart. I'm not saying you can't knock the dragon with mountain breaker but I'm noticing a difference using the higher damaging lash ability.
I think the biggest thing or oke of the things that should have been thought of was no clipping or letting hits register through objects such as enemies. If you hit an Indom Lash, or arch of might or Mountain Breaker, you shouldn’t have to worry about it being nullified because you hit the dragon’s arm while it was laying down. It just seems like an unnecessary punishment, these are huge monsters, it’s hard NOT to accidentally hit a random body part
Actually the list stays mostly the same. Only big difference is that roar is going to shoot to the top. Since that lets warrior pawns take all the attention off you.
I wouldn't use Windstorm Slash on a pawn, since the AI seems incapable of hitting the timing required to maximize damage. At least that was the case in my testing. Just some food for thought.
@@SheenShots Wait you would use arc of might on a warrior pawn? They don't charge it all the way most of the time so do poor damage and still lose all stam. Not to mention they'll use it on a single goblin. If you want your vanguard to be behind the pack at ALL times because they are catching their breath then yeah i guess.
Ironically I kinda prefer the DD1 version for this reason, it was weighty and had big hits but also your character didnt seem like they could barely swing their own weapon. The mobility nerf and massively increased windup and endlag just makes it feel worse even if its technically better.
