    Great info. When painting with chalk paint, it’s a good idea to apply a topcoat before adding a glaze and then applying another topcoat after the glaze to seal it. Otherwise, the chalk paint will just soak up the glaze. When I began using glazes, there were many times I did not apply a topcoat first and I had to work fast to brush on the glaze and wipe it off.

    Scumble vs glaze? Also, where do you find those fabulous flat brushes without handles that fit in your hand? They are fantastic! I had no luck on Amazon, not sure Home Depot would carry brushes like that... Thank you, Christina! These classes with their great advice are so helpful!

    WOW! As if on cue, I was trying to decide table top sections vs. The rest of my solid oak table, for a white wash top and dark grey bottom still letting the wood grain show through. Was looking at, wax vs. Gel stain vs. Voodoo gel stain vs. Glaze. Glaze might be what I want for the top, and voodo gel stain for the rest.

    • @TheReclaimedHeirloom
      @TheReclaimedHeirloom  3 года назад +1

      Yes!! Absolutely you tint you clear glaze with chalk paint! I mainly use chalk paints to tint with but can be tinted with other paints too.
      Definitely give it a try on a small project or small canvas board and play with custom glaze colours , I was addicted once I tried 🙏🤗❤️

But I've never seen a peice with this sort of wood details, chalk painted so im a little lost. Could you perhaps give me some direction with color and design?! Maybe send me some photos of what you think could work

      My neighbors daughter just came to live with me about 6 months ago. Then her grandmother (whom she was close with) passed 6 weeks ago. And she ended up with her grandmothers bedroom furniture.
      Alyssa made 14 today, she's had a pretty rough go of things, we are very happy to have her with us now and would really like to show her. We are currently redoing her bedroom and I'd really to update, or back date, this furniture to better reflect her style, and add to its sentimental value
