I am looking forward to see the milk paint project and especially the use of dry milk paint because I have never heard it before! Take care and keep up the good work! Thank you for the amazing videos!
Great tutorial on the difference in the paint. I used milk paint when I started painting furniture and didn't like the unpredictable results in it. HOWEVER, I have watch some of the videos where you throw the milk paint on the chalk paint and I really like the texture that it gives. Thanks again for a very informative video !
❤!thanks Christina!.... this could be too amateur, but would love to learn how to properly clean and care for brushes...especially after using wax 🙂 "see" you Saturday!
Hi Christina From the Uk just thought l would say that l spent a lovely Saturday afternoon with you while you were doing your projects and you talking about the paints that you can use while l myself was in my workshop (come garage) painting furniture as l am new to the business Although I have used Annie Sloan l also use Frenchic chalk paint as they have a range that has the wax in it which makes it super silky if you want a flat no brush mark no texture look but thank you for your company Saturday look forward to seeing you next Saturday as l want to try the textured look but have to work up the courage😂 ❤️
Great Q&A Christina! I never thought of using milk paints (other than in the dry form that you have shown) but maybe after I see your tutorial, I will give it a try. I guess deep in my heart (and my admiration of Mrs. Annie) I have always just thought chalkpaint was the way to go. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ♡ *hugs*
Hi Nikki!!! Yeah I agree, I still have to play more with Milk paints, it find you patience with it but when it works it's amazing! Yes chalk is my go to for painting, but I am trying to explore different mediums for textures which is fun!! See you this Saturday I got something cool to show you all!!! ❤️❤️🎨🎨🙏
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom You know I am always excited for Saturday!!!🥰 Sooo. . Kind of off topic. . . With marriage came my husbands dinner table and being a man he cleaned it with an antibacterial wipe for many years. Now the sticky goo (now it is sticky to the touch) that I am guessing is a finish is coming up on the spots he used that extra elbow grease. Any suggestions on how to prepare that for chalkpaint?
Hi Christina...I really enjoyed the episode! So many questions answered...thank you. I have some of Amy Howard's milk paint in my stash and haven't used it yet. A little timid as I've never used it before. Wanted to try it over a gesso base on old wooden candlesticks. Something small to start with. Looking forward to your milk paint tutorial. Blessings ❤️🙏
I haven't used milk paint yet, but I will. Love the look it gives on some projects. I have these very old doors I want to make a island with. Love the look.
Thank you so much for Explaining this Christina!⚘As me, being New to the Chalk Paint world🎨 & seeing Milk paint🥛 too, have been wondering .... Planning on using a Charcoal Milk Paint on Lower part of dining Room Wall, then Crackle Paint on top along with Annie's Chalk Paint & wax on top. This Dining Room Makeover will be where I'm showcasing your Stone effect Look on my mamas China Cabinet which I'm bout to get started on, and I'm doing her dining room table from your 60's Table tutorial. Gonna take some time, but once it all comes together I think it's gonna look great!😊💜❤
Thank you so much Christina! Since milk paint might get chippy after application, I imagine you have to sand it down smooth and clean it again before applying your top coat?
If you use the bonding agent mixed into the milk paint you will not get that chippy look if that is the look you are going for. The bonding agent is sort of like your top coat but its mixed into your milk paint right from the start. Not sure if that makes sense to you? The bonding agent make it less of a chippy look. I hope this helps! Let me know you if you have any more questions. ❤️🎨🙏
Hi!!! Glad it was helpful! Yes, I think finding Milk paint is challenging outside North America. I do have a few on my amazon store, not sure if they ship to you in Greece! ❤️🎨🙏
Near the end of your helpful video, thank you, I became focused on the beautiful armoire in your background. Did you paint that? If so, what colors, paint type, and techniques did you use? I want to do the same for a vintage dressing table that I just scored at Goodwill. Thank you in advance.
Hi thanks for your Q&A video help a lot soecially bieng new on the painting and repurpose furniture . I have few question first one if I'm low in budget to buy those paint which you advice I can use and other what color to buy at first thanks .
Hi Marby! I would recommend buying the small samples of the chalk paint which every brand you can find locally, for example Annie Sloan or Dixie Belle. As for color to start out it depends if you want a bold looks or if you want a neutral tones. I tend to go with the neutral tones, so like greys, coco, taupes, olive, white, and black I usually go with. ❤️🎨🙏
Hi Christina...very timely video as I’m heading out to my shop to paint a dresser in Sweet Pickins Milk Paint💗 I have done only one other project in milk paint and it was a bunch of smalls. I have watched many videos on milk paint....I have an immersion blender to mix well.....then wait a bit for bubbles to settle. The dresser I am painting is for a friend and I will definitely be using Bond as I do not want the chippy finish bc the entire piece is MDF 😱 I have cleaned thoroughly and any areas that needed fixing used bondo to fill. My question is when using milk paint are you trying for straight lines or different directions with brush like many do with chalk paint? Only tops and sides are flat....the drawers and body has a lot of great detail to play with color wash or waxes....shame on me I did not go look at the piece before having it picked up....I had been watching Facebook Marketplace for the perfect piece for her hallway for what felt like forever....and she finally said yes to this one! It was photographed well and was rough ( hubby says “ruff” lol) when I got it🙈😱...lesson learned!! Good thing hubby has history with bondo as he did body work on cars when we were much younger...now he is the boss lol....one comment that new milk paint users may need to know is that you only mix what you think you will need as it spoils....the time that takes depends on color and conditions. Some you can cover and refrigerate for use the next day...but not much more then that. Some will start to get unusable within a few hours! I would love to see you do a milk paint project! Would very much appreciate if you could let me know about brush stroke question....thanks for sharing, 😊k
Hi Kim great tips and information!! Yes get the bond! when I did it on MDF it makes a world of difference!!!! Have you used the typewriter black from them? I did a dining room hutch and chairs and it was amazing!! ❤️🎨🎨🙏🙏
Hi Cha!! That's weird!!!! Not sure why the like does not work! I am happy to see your comments though always nice to hear from you!!!! have a good day and see you this Saturday!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🎨

Can milk paint be used to paint fabric? If so, is it washable?
How would you distress a furniture piece?
Hi Deborah! There is a few ways you can get that effect, I usually would paint the distressed look but the other way you can do is do a base coat and then layer another color on top and then sand back the top to reveal the bottom. I hope this helps! ❤️🎨🙏
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom thank you! I appreciate your input!
Can milk paint & chalk paint be mixed together for a different color & look?
A lot of people are painting or staining to update a fireplace . Have you tried this paint on fireplaces?
Hi Diana! Take a look at my video today! I just painted my Fireplace! lol ❤️🎨🙏
Annie didn't invent chalk paint. She just put it in a can and sold it. It's been used for centuries in the middle east. Till now they use it. My great grand father's house in Jerusalem is painted in this paint that you claim Annie invented it.
