      This doesn’t have anything to do with this particular video but maybe you can make a video on this subject. How do you use a probe from the spoil board instead of the surface of the material using CarveCo maker and UGS

      My frustrations were not so much with the machine, but more the fact the insult to the existing customers who had been waiting a long time for certain upgrades that had been promised....but seemed to work as they have now been released 😁

I occasionally pop in to their facebook group and the last information I was given is that it will be debuting some time next month. I hope you can at least confirm/exist us in your socials that it actually exist when you actually have it in your hands

    I totally agree this size is already covered by many machines, I would have preferred a bigger version of the 3030 with the same linear rails, ball screws but decent Nema 23's, not to forget the 1.5 - 2.2kw Spindle. Size wise something similar to the Nymo-Labs 5040 or 6040, even an upgraded 6050, all they need to change would be ball screws, get rid of the useless spindle and make the smaller spindle mounts optional that should cover the cost of the ball screws.
    I have the 3020 V1 and need a bigger sturdier machine to make aluminium parts and the 4030 V2 is not much bigger and I don't think wheels cut the mustard, I have read lots of complaints of them wearing out quite quickly. Been waiting almost a year for something to pop up, If I decided now next week one would be announced knowing my luck.

    James, this is a fantastic video, I've learned so much from it. I believe the entry-level machines produced by Genmitsu are very competitive and more than capable of meeting the needs of many large-scale woodworking machine users. Just like myself, haha. It seems that the belt tensioning system on this machine is well done, and I will consider purchasing it. Thank you again for your video.

    Looking at their site I see there's a 6060 & 1313 XY-Axis Extension Kit which seems like you can go big with the 4030. What isn't clear is if you get everything in that kist. The also list a hybrid table option but the description is unclear as to if you need both kits in total.

    Great video. Never expected you to drop your standards to say great product. Glad i wasn't the only one shocked at belt drive.
    Ive seen Sainsmart video on tightening X belt, lot of faffing to adjust wheel tension before adjusting belt tension. Can't see people doing that every time !!
    Personally i think Sainsmart has too many machine variants competing & confusing against each other.

    This reminds me exactly of the “race to the bottom” / _Attack of the Ender3 Clones_ phase of the 3D printer market.
    Multiple manufacturers making nearly identical machines and competing on lowest sticker price versus competing on quality or innovation.

      Some point this year I suspect but take into account Lightburn are competing with companies doing this for many many year. I've seen their beta testing and it looks good but is likely to be a little basic in comparison to the larger names in the industry

    Hello James, I have seen on some cnc videos that they do a spindle warm up on the larger machines. Would this be recommended on the smaller cnc machines like fox alien and genmitsu.

  • @PavelPeikov
    @PavelPeikov 2 месяца назад

    Do you know if a vfd spindle will be good for the Prover 3030 and what is the height of the spindle for a enclosure?

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  2 месяца назад

      Being screw driven it should be OK to handle it but the nema 17 motors are not ideal. Over height would be around 60-70cm with the Z axis all the way up depenpn how high you mount it in the holder

  • @Butcherbirdwoodworking
    @Butcherbirdwoodworking 2 месяца назад +3

    I'm so frustrated by this product. I have the 4040 pro and I've been waiting for the extension since I got it. The only reason I got it instead of the fox alien is because I didn't want a belt driven cnc. Had I know they were going to take this long I would have gone with the fox alien instead because the 4040 pro size is super limiting and I'm thinking of selling it to jump ship to the size they promised but apparently can't deliver on.

    Really wish you would have done a proper test and let us know how it actually compares to the 4040 pro/ver etc. I just got my reno all set up and with a 500w spindle and would absolutely care to see how they differ , grbl controllers the same? rigidity, value for money. etc, I got my reno for $577 CAD, and after a week spent another @200 on the spindle, That still leaves me around 7-800 under the proverxl and about 3-400 under the pro, and Right at the price range spot on for a Masuter Pro. Ive got 16mm supported linear rails I plan on adding soon to stretch the reno to 800x400. Nema 23 z axis will bve coming first though. My Y AXIS stepper makes a sort of ticking noise, is this normal?

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  Месяц назад

      Maybe I should have done a normal review but Sainsmart should not have released this machine ahead of things they had promised customers a year ago so I felt I had to do/say something. Just be careful upgrading your Z axis to nema 23s. That requires a new control board (or separate driver) and will also add significant weight potentially causing the X axis to skip step. Not sure about the ticking, there is usually a humming noise but not so much a ticking noise

    • @MadMackz
      @MadMackz Месяц назад

      @@JamesDeanDesigns YOURE THE M AN!!!! Thanks for this vital information. I could not get Sainsmart to give me a proper answer regarding the control board!!! THE SAINSMART SITE SAYS EXTENSIONS ETD IS 5/25!!!"!? THATS BRUTAL!!! Yes you are very right about that. Without this kit I wouldnt be able to get into CNC though, so I praise them for it. Thank you for the reply , and I look forward to seeing your future Informational projects. You've helped me out a ton thus far. Im thinking about connecting my MKSDLCS32v2.1 as a control board to see how it does in comparison. Works wonders for my Co2 laser. Id like to carve 3d projects and then shade them with my laser.

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  2 месяца назад

      I do get that and I nearly didnt make the video how I did but genuinely, me spending the usual 3-4 weeks doings multiple test on this wouldn't have made much difference to my thoughts on the machine or how they came about it. You would have just had some extra footage of it doing cuts. I dont doubt this will tick boxes for some people but this race to the bottom usually doesn't benefit the customers in the long run.

    That's my main peeve with all these chinese 3d printer manufacturers: flooding the market with redundant models that very often have only minor changes. That's why I like bambu's printers. There's only a few models in clearly defined tiers.
