Great Video and plans for the spoilboard. I have the XE-PRO with the stock 400W spindle. My Y-axis can go to 420mm without hitting the limit switch. I made my spoilboard 400x440mm to us the full range of the CNC. With the Trim Router attached the dimensions might be different but for now I would recommend adding 20 to 40 mm to the Y-Axis.
Another nice video and kudos for sharing files.
Cool. That looks like a nice unit for sure. 👍
I have fitted my Workbee CNC with the Sainsmart 1010 T track bed with spoilboard stuck on and leveled
I don't see the STL file for the spoilboard leveling jig
I love your videos and bought the FoxAlien XE Pro as an outcome. Very happy with it but do you know the max rpm speed for the 400w spindle. It does not seem to be documented anywhere, only the 5000 max feed speed
@roysteiner1005 they can sometimes vary but I usually go with 12000rpm
@@JamesDeanDesigns Thanks for such a prompt response; very helpful
Do you have a video for the FoxAlien Masuter Pro extension kit for a spoil board set up? I did not have luck finding this great of a video for it.
Great Content!!! One question, if i want to use a 1/4 up bit. how do i manipulate the gcode to accommodate the 1/4 bit?
Great job nice
Thanks!
Hey, did you ever get round to making a spoilboard file for the Masuter 3S (40x40)? (Loving the videos btw!)
Hello James Dean . I recently purchased the NymoLabs NBS 6040 and they have tagged you and Aurora Tech and they told me that they would be giving you a machine to review and test out. Can you do a video on that machine or reach out to them for that machine? Thank you
So I got it working and it got all the way down to the last row far left rear. It then paused and gave me a soft limit alarm. G-code motion target exceeds machine travel. What does that mean?
Nice video. Your surfacing bit has replaceable carbide bits , would you recommend that type over the cheaper fixed bit types ?
Do you know please; do FA sell a dust shoe for the XE-Pro?
Hello James--I have a problem with your file for holes on XE Pro--every thing goes fine until it gets to 3rd row X left--then it jst stops and gives this warning--- error:9-G-codelocked out during alarm or jog state{G1Z1.0000F10000.0
This error mayjust bea symptom of an eralier event:Alarm:2-Gcodemotion target exceedsmachine travelMachine positionsafety retained.Alarm may be unlocked
I would honestly like to just replace the whole base spoil board, but can't find any files to replicate the mounting locations. My reasoning is that I would like to etch the carvable area into a grid on the spoil board.
Hmm, wasn't it been better to do the flattening after you removed the tape and bold it to the bed? glue and tape could rase the hight uneven.
now you do not know if the bottom board is right or wrong, or is the spoil board right/wrong?
and trimming would be best on the bottom board, right?
You dont remove the tape, that board remains fixed down with the tape. The whole purpose is not to use or trust the bed as that can also be uneven, so you create a fresh surface to work from and the surfacing makes it parallel with the axis. Its a board designed to be cut into so you don't want any bolts or screws in it
can someone tell me why my vectric software won't see the gcode files? i'm a complete newbie moron.. LOL
Vectric software exports gcode files, it doesn't read them. The software you need to run your gcode files is control software like UGS or Openbuilds Controller
@@JamesDeanDesigns Thanks for the quick reply!! I did install UGS and ran the 12.5mm spoilboard program, for some reason i get an alarm at line 10475 and the machine stops (twice so far). Also, my 1/2 MDF here in the USA is 13.3mm thick. I"m trying to figure out how to make the change but not sure I can do it. I may install open builds to try that too. I'm just getting started and not sure which software to use. I know I want something that has machine controls like UGS and Easel, I didn't find that the vectric trial software offers that tho.
I watched the spoil board video and I was thinking why not use a planer
A planer will not flatten the board perpendicular to the machine which is the key part here.
@@JamesDeanDesigns Thanks, I'm waiting for my new Genmitsu 4040 to be shipped. As soon as I get it I'll replay your video. Thanks for getting back to me.
