Sorry for misunderstanding. When the focus attack hits after charging it fully, you dash, while still in dash animation, you input the demon so it comes out as soon as the dash animation ends, and you're not punching the air or something.
I know a pretty "good" way to setup a True Raging Demon. A little nooby though.... Anyway jump towards your opponent and do a double-air hadoken while you are at the peak of your jump. The thing they normally do is block, so while their blocking just do the True Raging Demon. So, yeah. That's how I set it up.
It's just buffering the demon input in a crouching roundhouse. The roundhouse lowers your hurtbox so you don't get hit by the jump-in, and in the animation of the roundhouse, you input the raging demon.
@HarryBoI7777 Yes, even for non-charge characters I think the square restrictor plate is the preferred method of play. The shortcut motions are viable and much easier with a square gate.
the reason why it was a counter hit, was because when ryu fell to the ground during the crumple, it puts him into a juggable state. This means that the shoryu will be a counter hit, causing the full ultra to come out.
It was just the alignment of planets and constellations that caused this event to occur. It is pretty interesting that you suggested this as I was already working on it.
The reason why the 1 hit makes him juggle is because he is in COUNTER HIT state, the crumple makes him juggle/counter hit state. if you just went up to someone without a crumple and tried to shoryu fadc, itll only work if you do 2 hits of the shoryu and only the ending of the ultra will connect.
i have a 6 button fight stick instead of an 8. do you think i can still effectively play street fighter or should i switch to my normal xbox remote (i cant afford an 8 button)
@monkeypower That makes a little more sense, because underused would mean that you think it should be used more, and overused means that you think it should be used less. Super is like a Gief Ultra though, definitely not useless, they can't escape at point blank range.
@2ossy punches on top, kicks on bottom. That's pretty much the only style. I meant I use the last six buttons, the ones that are straight across, instead of the first six which are arched.
because, if you do shoryu (2 hits) fadc ultra, it doesnt register as a counter hit. it HAS to be a counter hit for the full ultra to connect after the shoryu fadc.
Thanks for another comprehensive look at how to play Akuma/Goki.I don't comprehend/play this game as much as I'd like to think. Especially without an arcade stick. Any recommendations on one? If so, any more of these tasty tutorials that I should look out for?
What do you use for recording this quality is excellent. I just need to know when to land raging demons. I always do them at the wrong time giving others time to jump.
2 things: 1. Your editing has a lot of style man, I really dig it. Mind if I ask what programs you edit with? AE? 2. Nice execution. I'm a Guile main and I can't dash into Ultra without focusing first (charge, focus, dash cancel, Ultra). Most Guile players can't even do that.
Anyways, do you happen to have any tips for plinking on an xbox controller? It's so hard to get the full demon input out during a roundhouse or sweep, and I struggle to plink correctly all the time.
It's strange, if your inputs are a little off or slow the quick combo will come out. Easier if you kara it in a move like overhead chop, because then quick combo can't come out.
You don't really need to plink, you just need to be quick. Because of the button priority you can push roundhouse+jab and you've already started buffering the demon.
is it possble to do such combos in ps3 pad...i am fairly new and i was given a good beating by a certain akuma today...and i m still shaken(maybe coz i m new:)) lol its so diff on the pad! and how much long did it take u to be so good in combos? i have been watching ur tutorials...they are the best...and i hope to pull some combos like urself here :\
hey if i hit with a crumple and i dash, the jabs used to start the ultra hit the opponent out of his crumple stun and then he can jump out of it. i guess i can dash back so the jabs don't hit them, but i noticed in your video your jabs don't come out. how do you achieve this? (this also happens if someone misses a shoryuken or something, and then my jabs hit them out of their recovery...)
this has helped me emencly.. im an MK player.. I play with a controller but trying SF with controller is almost impossible ive found.. i got my fight stick today and could not for the life of me sus this out.. thanks
ht tp : / /youtu . be / 5JHF1JsTE10 In the combos at 1:20 and 2:04, Desk gets command grabs to combo (notice the lack of combo 'notifications', if you will, until after the command grabs, and the number of hits in the combo 'notifications' equaling the number of hits from the normals and command grabs combined). Do you know how he did it? Is it still possible to do in Ver. 2012?Does it have something to do with the round ending (the command grab came out after the KO both times, after all)?
Easier than a fireball motion? The fact that the demon requires a tutorial on how to use it efficiently pretty much proves it's a bit more difficult than QCF motion.
I have problems doing this combo in the first place. I do press twice lp, then forward + lk but the result looks nothing like this. What am I doing wrong? I'm on gamepad.
You would never FADC into a demon. it is a grab. Since you'd be FADC'ing from a move that is hit or blocked, the character would be in hit or block stun. You cannot grab a character from hit or block stun, as with any grab. It will always miss. Also, The ULTRA version is not instant, and thus can be jumped out of, only the SUPER demon will grab on the first frame. The ultra is more for punishing an escape, bad jump-in, or after a focus crumple.
depending on the shoryuken it does 1 hit, which is what most ken and akuma likes to use to juggle +fadc. So what makes Shoryu (1hit) fadc ultra different from the one in this video? U keep saying counter hit and not explaining the mechanics behind it.
no, u can do 1 hit of shoryu+fadc+ultra. Any type of juggle the ending of the ultra will connect. U still haven't exactly explained what counter-hit state IS and how it happens and the mechanics behind it.
I think you're a little off on the available combos. I'm not sure, but i believe there is another way to combo into it, you just use a normal to reset your opponent after a Hurricane kick, and then do the Ultra before they hit the ground. They shouldn't be able to jump, and you should land it, in a much more easy to land combo.
Damn... would've been so cool if Zangief could do that. Would probably make him too good (being able to tack a command grab onto the end of every combo), unless it could only be done with ex spd or something.
You’re a great teacher.. Goutetsu Has nothing on you. Best Akuma 101 videos around. Are those inputs possible with a Xbox controller? Not sure how a gamepad would work for me. I’m barely learning how to land focus attack into a demon with poor success. Do you play on Xbox? Would one on one lessons be possible??
This is by far the most in depth and AWESOME guide I've ever seen anyone make for one single move
This is really really good. You need to do like a million of these.
dude you got the best street fighter videos on youtube, taught me how to do so many basics that you cant learn anywhere else THANKS :)
This is an excellent video. On top of that, the professionalism is top notch.
great video explanation, never knew about the super not having invinicibilty frames
i somehow missed this video for few years since i started using akuma glad i finally seen it,great explanation.you rock!!
ive watched a lot of the "RD" "tutorials" and this video is bar none unequivocally the best vid
The shortcut part helped my game so much, love the vid thank so much for doing these
Sorry for misunderstanding. When the focus attack hits after charging it fully, you dash, while still in dash animation, you input the demon so it comes out as soon as the dash animation ends, and you're not punching the air or something.

nicely done video, and everything was said clearly and fully explained...my kind of tut
What is your input at 4:06?
It's just buffering the demon input in a crouching roundhouse. The roundhouse lowers your hurtbox so you don't get hit by the jump-in, and in the animation of the roundhouse, you input the raging demon.
The editing for your video is amazing, good job
A lot of ultra combos do less damage after a focus attack because focus attacks scale back the damage in a combo a lot.
Very. This is the holy book for Demon for any SF4 series game.
It works. You have to charge to a level 2 focus, but the fireballs give you just enough time to charge to level 2 and get the crumple.
@ZankuuHadouken That's the point, you buffer the entire input so you don't see any normals. That's the only way to do it quickly.
i have a 6 button fight stick instead of an 8. do you think i can still effectively play street fighter or should i switch to my normal xbox remote (i cant afford an 8 button)
Thank you, because of your numerous akuma vids I was able to get extremly good with him. If only you could do this with more characters.
@monkeypower That makes a little more sense, because underused would mean that you think it should be used more, and overused means that you think it should be used less.
Super is like a Gief Ultra though, definitely not useless, they can't escape at point blank range.

I love you, i did not dash after the focus, i was sooo pissed off i gave up the game, but now i can do it!!!! :)))))
Thanks for another comprehensive look at how to play Akuma/Goki.I don't comprehend/play this game as much as I'd like to think. Especially without an arcade stick.

What do you use for recording this quality is excellent.
I just need to know when to land raging demons. I always do them at the wrong time giving others time to jump.
Thanks for the well made easy to understand videos!
I wonder will the demon shortcut work in SFXT. That would be awesome.
Street Fighter is a 6 button game. People rarely use the 7/8th button.
@MrLamont1975 sure does, although it's forward not backward obviously, since it's super demon.
Did they tinker with Raging Demon's start-up invincibility frames in SSFIV or the AE?
2 things:
1. Your editing has a lot of style man, I really dig it. Mind if I ask what programs you edit with? AE?
2. Nice execution. I'm a Guile main and I can't dash into Ultra without focusing first (charge, focus, dash cancel, Ultra). Most Guile players can't even do that.
i honestly never knew that you could input the last 3 button at the same time, and ive been playing as akuma in this game for almost 3 years now lol
Are you able to do the Crumple Demon but without the first hit to stun him, so just using the one hit invincibility?
You don't really need to plink, you just need to be quick. Because of the button priority you can push roundhouse+jab and you've already started buffering the demon.
hey i was looking at your input and did you use the all 3 punch button to pull off kara demon?
is it possble to do such combos in ps3 pad...i am fairly new and i was given a good beating by a certain akuma today...and i m still shaken(maybe coz i m new:)) lol
its so diff on the pad! and how much long did it take u to be so good in combos? i have been watching ur tutorials...they are the best...and i hope to pull some combos like urself here :\
In SSF4, can you do a Wrath of the Raging Demon when the opponent is in the air? Basically, will 6:29 work in SSF4?
when do u do the crumple demon do u buffer the buttons to do the demon because i cant see the 2 punches in the beginning
Thank you very much. very well put together.
hey theres a video out there that shows akuma's raging demon tracking his opponent into the sky. hows that happen?
hey if i hit with a crumple and i dash, the jabs used to start the ultra hit the opponent out of his crumple stun and then he can jump out of it. i guess i can dash back so the jabs don't hit them, but i noticed in your video your jabs don't come out. how do you achieve this?
(this also happens if someone misses a shoryuken or something, and then my jabs hit them out of their recovery...)
great tut, thanks for the PIP
but I'm not entirely sure what happened in the video to cause the ultra to fully hit. Only way I know is only on counter hit though.
@MrBassem95 Then you're going it too quick or you're not canceling from a crouching forward/roundhouse.
Awesome video and editing
ok wow. i meant FIERCE SHORYU AKA THE ONE THAT IS BEING DONE IN THE VIDEO. that is the one we are talking about.. geez
wow... just.. wow, i've been playing for like 3 months and i didn't know about the shortcut.
u mean fei long right? I kinda get wut u're trying to say but how come if u JUST do shoryu+fadc+ultra it doesn't fully connect?
i did the focus attack and foward dash then the raging demon. but akuma didn't grab the opponent. he just pass him. why ???
@lordofultima thanks i will try it i hate it when some one jumps over my demon
the shortcut doesnt work for me. it keeps making me use the quick combo via shortcut :(
The FP DP has to be on counter hit for the whole ultra to hit.
@hello266691 forward dash into Ultra. It's actually very difficult. For more info, look into Dee Jay's EX Mechinegun Upper forward dash Ultra 2
So... Evil Ryu's Raging Demon. Is it just the same as Akuma's Super, or?...
@iceman78772 Did you watch it? It's more than just doing jab jab back short fierce.
wtf? Can all of ken's ultra land with the shoryuken+fadc+ultra? if u delay the ultra a little bit? what's going on?
yeah the round ending is the only way that works. Just a fun trick to put in a video I assume.
this has helped me emencly.. im an MK player.. I play with a controller but trying SF with controller is almost impossible ive found.. i got my fight stick today and could not for the life of me sus this out.. thanks
thanks much for the shortcuts... I was messing up sometimes on the move when itd be important and i felt like a nub..
thanks for taking my suggestion!

In the combos at 1:20 and 2:04, Desk gets command grabs to combo (notice the lack of combo 'notifications', if you will, until after the command grabs, and the number of hits in the combo 'notifications' equaling the number of hits from the normals and command grabs combined).

you don't fadc into raging demon, it can't be combo'd into.
I don't use PPP or KKK buttons. I just use the straight 6-button layout.
i still can't make it .. can you teach me please ?? how to fadc it ?
Keep this great job up!
Easier than a fireball motion? The fact that the demon requires a tutorial on how to use it efficiently pretty much proves it's a bit more difficult than QCF motion.
@2ossy It's not really that weird, just straight buttons, America style.
awesome awesome video thank you
I have problems doing this combo in the first place. I do press twice lp, then forward + lk but the result looks nothing like this. What am I doing wrong? I'm on gamepad.
Forward+LK+HP
Duy Anh Le don't forget the hp after lk.
@MusicalAdrian They are..try demoning without a shortcut, see how that works out for you.
Thanks this video helped a lot.

hello i play on xbox 360 on ultra street fighter 4 i do in raging demon it still in low health
i doubt it has to be a "counter hit" -_-;; after all, he did the regular ryu bnb type of ultra combo. dp + fadc+ ultra.
depending on the shoryuken it does 1 hit, which is what most ken and akuma likes to use to juggle +fadc. So what makes Shoryu (1hit) fadc ultra different from the one in this video? U keep saying counter hit and not explaining the mechanics behind it.
@2ossy Feels better? Why is your name 2ossy?
your tips did not work every time i do the ultra raging demon on a jump kick i get hit
really helpful. thanx.
@muker123 But you will knock him out of hitstun or crumple and they will jump out of it >_>
no, u can do 1 hit of shoryu+fadc+ultra. Any type of juggle the ending of the ultra will connect. U still haven't exactly explained what counter-hit state IS and how it happens and the mechanics behind it.
thanks thats awesome

just pres the buttons really fast. low punch low punch, forward low kick, high punch
Thanks man this really helped
0:37 CROTCH PUNCH!
i can't do akuma's ultra combo
i have that ultra bar full
Hyperion .Zed LP, LP, Back, LK, HP
thanks
it worked
Hyperion .Zed not all at once, x, x, back, a, rb. Don't hold your stick, flick it after the second x. if you are on ps, x = square, rb is r1, a is x.
Thank you so much man :D!
go on....yeah.... v.good vid .... thanks
ty
Thanks. Unfortunately, I've dropped Akuma because he's not a fit for me. :/
Damn... would've been so cool if Zangief could do that. Would probably make him too good (being able to tack a command grab onto the end of every combo), unless it could only be done with ex spd or something.

@lordofultima yeah
oh my god I didnt remember the ultras doing that much damage in vanilla
