Vidéos mixing two of your pedals are always very interesting, I have in mind the wonderful Pyramids + Avalanche Run demo also by Cory. Impressive and so creative. What about an Afterneath + Rainbow Machine or Afterneath + Grand Orbiter !
You’re company and pedals are one of the best around. A few months ago I bought 3 used pedals and they immediately replaced the old/new pedals on my pedalboard. When placed side by side for sound comparison, there was no denying that the Earthquaker pedals were better sounding. I bought the Plumes brand new based on the quality and sound of their pedals. It’s outstanding and has replaced my tubescreamer because of the quality, tones and versatility. I hope to pick up a few more new and used along the way and highly recommend to any musician to play an Earthquaker device. They’re worth their weight in gold. Thanks for making them.

Can you help me understand the expression on this pedal? If I understand it right, you have to sweep the expression pedal in order to change the delays pitch. However, you cannot just set the expression pedal to a specific spot, let's say the 5th of the original note, and then play and all the delays will be 5ths of whatever note you play? It seems like the expression pedal can change the delay pitch by moving it, but cannot set the delay pitch by just leaving it in a certain spot. Maybe it is the expression pedal I am using? (BOSS FV-500H)
@@ERWebster Thanks for the question, ER! Yes, the change in pitch of the delay lines is merely a byproduct of a change to the Drag parameter (which is doing a bunch of magical stuff under the hood). This pedal will not act as a fixed harmonizer as you described above, meaning you must be moving the expression pedal/Drag parameter to get the desired change in pitch. This is what makes the 9 different modes really expressive and interesting! Lastly, your Boss expression pedal has a 10K pot. While the Afterneath V3 will work with a standard 10K expression pedal, a 50K expression pedal will allow you to access the full range of each mode. We recommend the Moog EP-3 or similar. Cheers!

When I was a kid I used to play with the first model at guitar Center. It blew my mind and started my interest in pedals. And about a year ago I bought this model and I don’t think I’ll ever need another reverb pedal. (Except for a strymon way down the line lol)

I already thought the Afterneath was one of the best reverb/delay/cavern simulators ever, but I just cannot believe how massive and chillingly beautiful this sounds. Also, who gets to play the Model T through the Marshall 8x10? Because damn.
5:30 sounds like some of the Jupiter effects music from "2010-The Year We Make Contact". Very cool. Great heads up on the Bloom app, too, Id never seen that one before.

My classroom's microphone interface has a few knobs for delay settings, and manipulating the delay time creates a sweep similar to drag on this pedal. Gotta get it when the budget permits! XD
When the Wizard busted out, i had me a laugh. Then when you cast those tones about, i had me some more laughs. Well done!

@@EarthQuakerDevices Follow up and possibly overasked question? Why the cheaper price tag on retailers' sites compared to V2?
We figured out how to offer this new version of Afterneath with more features and a lower price point than previous versions. Many retailers are reducing the prices of their V2 stock proportionately to reflect this. Some may not be.

Have you guys ever thought about including like a pseudo-wave diagram to represent what the effects doing? like a sine wave, + waves for the delays, and seeing them spread/blur whatever in response to the effect?
hmmm.... maybe? maybe we have.
@@EarthQuakerDevices just as someone who finds it hard to kinda pin down what's happening to various individual components of the effect, and coming from a scientific/programmatic background, i think it'd be rad and benefit my understanding, but i might be a niche crowd.
...unless, you want to be really hardcore and hook up an oscilloscope and an ABY, and look at wet signal with the dry subtracted

This is definitely a cool pedal. I have to observe that it’s very similar to the reverb mode on the left side of the CBA Mood. This has more quantization options and more general tone sculpting options, but the MOOD is midi controllable.
The mood has 4 controls:
clock, length, diffusion, mix. So it’s missing tone and regen compared to this.
The midi control allows you to easily “play” the MOOD’s clock. I wonder how easily you can control a CV input on Afterneath with a guitar friendly setup.

Well, - here we go.Another EQD candidate for the wet board.Interestingly, the more I've simplified , the more EQD effects I've taken on; a broad level of potential complexity ,without becoming overwhelming or counter intuitive, - or sounding digitally over produced.The Aqueduct and Avalanche Run are personal favourites.

This may sound ignorant, but I was wondering if you’re attenuating your signal somehow when you’re running those Moogs into the pedal. I noticed that there are different-colored cables running to/from the in/out, and I’m assuming the jacks are “in” on the right with the inverted triangle (looking at the face of the pedal), and respectively, “out” on the left.
The reason I ask is because I have both of those synths, and I’m finding that the Line Level/Instrument Level difference may’ve potentially damaged some of my Earthquaker pedals. Wondering if there’s a trick that I missed early on, and if so, I’d love to know how you’re routing this. Thanks!

Moog discontinued the EP-2 and EP-3. Get a Dunlop Expression Mini. Better quality, more versatile, and smaller footprint.

that pedal is often adverised in the shops as true bypass, but its not! Its buffered bypass and it sucks tone in your effects loop of your amp like hell! In front of the amp its okay, but in the effects loop it kills tone. I tried this with 4 (!) amps, and in any of the effects loop this pedal was a show stopper! Be aware of this when buying that thing! @EQ Devices: why did you not make this true bypass? This really sucks, I cant use that pedal in front of my amp, I need it in the loop....

Who cares? It sounds amazing and is unlike pretty much every reverb pedal out there. Isn’t that enough?
A buffer doesn’t have to mean it sucks tone. If anything, having only true bypass pedals will suck tone. A badly designed buffered bypass could ofcourse be an issue, but I have yet to experience that with eqd
