Originally, 2 player mode actually meant "one player, but when he dies, the second player takes over and starts at the beginning". Now you can have best times with your friend in this game. ;)

This topped the original Super Mario bros. Shame Nintendo couldn't come up with this idea but somebody who don't work for Nintendo made it more fun to play together
They probably could have been able to do this, just with the hardware limitations back then would've made it difficult to be able to it. They could only have a certain number of sprites on the screen at one time, otherwise they start to "flicker" or "glitch" and the frame rates drop.
Running 8-bit games that are ported on to modern, current day hardware however, the possibilites are endless.
@@lambo_90 This romhack is playable on the original hardware. They could have made SMB1 co-op but just didn't.

@@Ayman-sk4zd Tool Assisted Speedrun. It's a program that lets you do frame-perfect inputs by programming an AI to play for you. It is a ton of work to create a TAS, but still much less than to learn to play like this yourself.

Pretty impressive that this game runs 4K on an 8 bit console!
It isn't really. It's a ported copy to modern hardware that its resolution has been multiplied/stretched 9x from its original: 256 x 240 pixels to the 4K: 2304 x 2160 resolution, plus the added on artwork to keep to the 16x9 youtube video size ratio.

Butter smooth gameplay
no collision design is just so good. But star power made player model shine to a misunderstanding state that Luigi is turning into Mario
Due to color palette limitations, some colors must be reused. Also, changing a single color affects the rest of the sprites. Thanks for watching!
