I live in Thailand and I can't say I've ever been "ripped off." Compared to the USA, prices here are very reasonable. Fortunately, I make more money than I need, so that makes it easy to overlook a lot.

If guys are getting ripped off then I suggest they befriend expats from their own country that will show them the ropes per se. Also, if you are not a seasoned traveler you are susceptible to being scammed when you get off the plane anywhere in the world. You have to have a travel plan that prevents being scammed. Like booking or researching pricing through a reputable site like AirBnb, Agoda, Hotels, Booking for your housing. Eating at local supermarkets with defined prices. Researching the cost of amenities you will use before you come so that you are aware of pricing. What's the best transportation. What are the best neighborhoods. Where to shop? Where is the hospital? How to get money? ATM Fees? Where is the supermarket. What are the local apps used for transportation, shopping etc... There are plenty of how to videos online that people should watch before they travel to any country. A little due diligence will save people from being scammed. Lastly, I think a lot of westerners come to Thailand to play in the mud. Thailand is a wonderful Buddhist country but when you go to the streets of prosti...tu...shun well...then expect to be scammed. If you play on the devil's playground then expect to meet the devil.

Holy moly 3500 for Koh Laan speedboat :D As someone who lives here I treat myself sometimes by getting the speedboat for like 200-300/person (don't remember how much), but usually just get the public ferry for 30 baht.
Do you know that the traffic accident rate in Bangkok is the highest in Southeast Asia? It's stupid to compare Hanoi and Bangkok. Bangkok is full of criminals, Hanoi is much safer. Have been travelling all over the world, but Thailand is my home now...Malaysia is great as well. People are very nice, food is good, cost of living is similar to Thailand...

It is not unusual to have to learn the hard way especially around the bar scene and getting tuk tuk drivers to take you where you want to go and not where they want to take you.. Top video champ 🤩

Tbh there are almost non. Only the very touristic places you have to look out for them. Most people in Thailand are the most humble and honest people on this planet 😊
I have been scammed in Phuket twice, once on a holiday share scam (My fault for trusting it) and I was drugged by the Russians at the LaMode stripclub, in the club by the bar staff (Vodka shot). I didn't make it out of the club before I passed out.

@@Chai_Travel All good the Aussie bouncer dragged me into the security office and I told him I have 1000$ in my wallet if he gets me back to my hotel before I went out, he did, I woke in my room and my wallet was empty, lost my memory for a few hours/days and it all came back to me. I went to the doctor back in Australia and he said the same thing happened to him.

Tourist places rip you off! Phuket, Koh Samui especially! They both are Mafia places also so stop tipping tuk-tuk, taxi etc in these places! They are not poor and blackmail shop owners etc. "You just have to go inside, not buy anything " and the owner have to pay the tuk-tuk 200 baht for example! Chiang Mai was best place, never been ripped off there not even in the market.
😅 ah well, most people have to learn it the hard way. Hopefully some of the videos I make help people to have a pleasant stay in Thailand without having to deal with paying too too much for anything 😊
@@Chai_Travel I have been in Thailand 20 years. It wants to make highways and parking s everywhere now, rail projects, canals regulations and yes even the poor Thais now need to file taxes and taxes on tips too. Same as Kamala and Joe. Not an improvement most people would say.

well there's lots of different types of tourists. some never make it out of khao san road and others see lots of Bangkok. Yeah if you're on holiday first time in bkk who doesn't want to ride in a souped up golf cart :) not everyone comes to go to malls haha

Traffic is bad in Bangkok but as a passenger it's nice watching the people and motorbikes go by.
