@CaptainKirkNZ when I saw this hardware, I knew it would be a choice a lot of people in our community would appreciate so I jumped on it as soon as I could. Succes with your decission. I am curious what your choice will be.
Thanks for the review, literally answers all the concerns I had for it. I already placed an order and thought I was taking somewhat of a risk considering there were no reviews on this rig. Now my mind is at ease :) Subscribed too because I watched a few of your videos already when searching for a rig and enjoyed them. Good luck on the channel mate!
“For those of us with some age.” 😂😂 Mofo speakin’ to my heart as I was concerned about the seat height lmfao. Bravo, amazing review. Bought mine last December on a gamble and good to see my expectations may be exceeded upon.
Happy new year! Good Video, nice entry level rig. Out of curiosity, have you ever ventured into VR racing? This goes so well with having a proper rig/wheel 😊
Well if you have the space for a cockpit that is sturdy, has good configuration and is the best bang for buck, you make a good choice with this. It will make a world of difference for immersion. Enjoy the drive friend 💙
Affordable profile rig. For people involved in the sim racing community for some time, it might seem not too important. But really for most part of people arriving in this bubble (active or inactive), they don’t spend high amounts of money to get started. Affordable options are probably the highest share of sales… 2025 starting off well.
Absolutely. It was also one of the things the TR employees at ADAC SE said to me. We want to really make affordable hardware and this is a very good first step!
It are 2 very different types of design. There is no best between both. They are both the top of their class. I personally would take the TR40S because it is in my garage and I need the extended configuration.
You can move it up and down over the length of the vertical beams as with other extrusion profiles. I added subtitles. If you buy, build and use this, you will have 0 regrets for the amount you paid for this. I mean that it is better bang/buck (even best atm) in comparison with entire competition in this segment.
@@SimulatedDrivingResource does the Universal Caster Wheels suit for Trak Racer TR40S because the Trak Racer TR40S is not in one part, but 2 separated parts. Can it suddenly break off at the joint? What u think ?
If you add 6 wheels under it with 4 supporting the seating area there are no worries. Majority of the weight is at the back of the frame. I would however not recommend only 4 wheels
Great video! I hate TrakRacer's design of splitting the base in 2. Wouldn't it be cheaper/ more sturdy to have a single bar (on both sides) instead of 2?
A very interesting question. If it is cheaper or not, I can't say but for the sturdy part, I do believe that the wider area can have a positive effect on the rigidity of the wheelbaseholder making it less likely to wobble from side to side. It does help with the footprint though. If you are a bit smaller you can make the entire rig 10cm shorter should you want. It does also take less space in length for the packaging. And this is strictly personal, but I do like the look of it this way too. I will ask the question to TR if I need to contact them. Thanks for the good question!
Do you know if there is a Wheelbase Front Mount out there that is compatible with this rig or can you measure the length inside from one to the other 4080 profile? Hope my english is okay, im from germany :D
@ Do u think (or know) if the „TR-ONE FULLY ADJUSTABLE DIRECT FIT WHEEL MOUNT“ fits onto the TR40S? Because the perscription says this: Full Mount Width (including 120 x 40mm profile): 580mm/22.83" but Trakracer themselves said it wouldnt fit. But why wouldnt it fit if its the exact distance between the uprights?
58cm so that's good and it can be perfectly attached to the vertical beams. I am a bit surprised TR says this does not fit. It should work. 🤔 they say it's not compatible with the smaller wheel uprights of the TR80 Lite but these of the TR40 are 70cm. Surely that should be enough
@@SimulatedDrivingResource hmm.. I'm a little afraid that it won't fit when I order it as soon as my TR40S has arrived.. but first thank you very much for your help. I hope I find out if it fits 100% before I order it
I will first review a few of his add-ons. Develop a working relation and will see what can be done from there on. First contact has been very good though so thank you for introducing them 💙
I bought this and was super excited when I got it but... It has been a nightmare to put together. Steps they have in the build process makes little sense. Simple suggestions of attach this corner bracket first are either not present or actively make it harder to put together if it is there. Good luck attaching any non bucket seat that they don't make. The seat beams block anyway of attaching to the seat. I had to order more corner brackets to have and way to attach mine. And the fact that if you could rotate the seat mount 90 degrees there would be no issue but the beams aren't long enough for that. The wheel tray has very little tilt to even list it as a function is laughable. Once it's together it is solid but man, it may drive you mad putting it together. For context I work in fitness equipment and build stuff all the time, this was one of the worst build I have done. *Also had a large dent in the wheel mount bracket, luckily it is not visible the way I mounted it.
Yeah I agree that it was not the most relax build because of an error in the manual but until the seat it went OK for me. I had a recliner and its always a bit of a struggle to turn in the bolts. Most important, you got it done. Now enjoy the drive friend 💙
FORM FACTOR, nice stand!! can't say the base is good, its 4040, kids? sure? KART RIG? (make it smaller=PERFECT. GT/formula rig? lmao don't make me laugh in wasteful money expression) forget this, build your own frame cheaper and buy TR mounts for the gear that fit the holes (if they do). FOR THE "people" that feel they are humans, GORILLA HERE! the flex you all can make is a catastrophic BREAK for me (didn't i snap/bend/twist profiles already? sadly i did, and the HEAVY version of the profiles!)

PJ has been tempting me to go VR but I have not bit the bullet yet. I probably should try but I am afraid of the motion sickness 🤢😏
Great review my friend! What a deal on a nice rig, I'm 6'4 235lbs do you think it is big enough for a size like me?
Leg length should be OK. Vertical beams are nice and high. Weight is OK. Sure. Its big enough
@@SimulatedDrivingResource thank you, I just got a new wheel base yesterday and need to stop using my desk to race in.

Hello, dear fellow simracers! Did anybody got this rig? If yes, how is it?
