The Absolute BEGINNERS GUIDE for TOTAL WAR Warhammer 2021

  • With all the news about Warhammer 3 I thought it was a great time to make a guide introducing brand new players to the game, and some very basic need to know info. This guide covers the starting factions for both Total War Warhammer I & II, the different game layers, and a brief rundown of some simple tactics. Enjoy!
    I'm looking to make more guides in the future, so make sure to leave a comment and tell me what parts of the game you want to learn more about!

    People really take for granted the initial hurdle a complete beginner has to get past. The UI and terms really are overwhelming the first time you play, and I 100% recommend picking easy the first few campaigns to get space to learn and try stuff.

      Yeah I’m a 100 percent new player to this genre and haven’t even played many management sims or rts games due to being on consoles most of my life got a pc and saw the total
      War warhammer 3 trailer and loving Khorne from the table top I felt like I had to learn this game. I’m getting it slowly but I’m making sure I take other game breaks to not overwhelm myself at once. Luckily RUclips I can listen to as I play other games (I also got endless legend and all its dlc ….:my plate is full)

    • @Srab23
      @Srab23 2 года назад +5

      @@rykersixx If you find the game enjoyable it's really easy to hang in there even if things seem overwhelming at first. I remember staying up a whole night playing greenskins back when I was new, just being immersed and slowly trying get the hang of things in normal mode.
      You shouldn't need to force yourself to play just to understand how to play it. Like I said in my original comment, make sure you play on easy until you get a feel for things, or else the AI might show up and corner you while you're still experimenting.

    • @rykersixx
      @rykersixx 2 года назад +3

      @@Srab23 right now the things I’m trying to figure out is mainly how to manually succeed at siege battles and campaign map things like “do I have too many armies?” . Right now I really like tomb kings but they seem to have a slower start than the other factions I tried. I’m mainly trying to learn before 3 so I can really dive into Khorne

    • @Srab23
      @Srab23 2 года назад +3

      @@rykersixx Tomb king may or may not be newbie friendly but the most important part is that you think the faction you're playing is cool.
      The other things such as how to win seige battles and how many armies to field just comes with experience, and it wouldn't hurt to do some battles you would overwhelmingly win with an auto resolve manually if you're feeling insecure. Especially if you're trying out some new units.

    I just bought all three Warhammer Total War games from Steam in a sale, and I am simply to dumb to learn how to play it. I've started to look up videos like yours to help me understand how to control the armies. I even bought Warhammer 1 and 2. Played for 16hrs and quit because I was so loss and it was taking too much time. I fear that I got old and now I don't have the time to learn it. I want to give it one more try. Wish me luck!

      Way to not be a scumbag. Do that crap for bad greedy devs. Not people who care about the product they put out.

      @@jbwanthony3177 why defend a company known for its bad reputation of modern dlcs. They specialize in making you buy content that should be base game. Warhammer great example of this it's a great game but ruined by its pay to play concept that was started in Rome 2.

      @@justinlabrosse8506none of what you said made sense. Rome 2 dlc is dirt cheap and are either faction packs or entire Alternative campaigns that are literally an entirely different game. The dlc for Rome 2 is literally the worst case example you could have used because it is cheap, well done and offers a lot of value for price and you aren't forced to buy it since the base game retains all the original features of the campaign it isn't like paradox games like hoi4 and eu4 where each dlc is just a minor feature added for twenty dollars a pop. If you want to talk about bad dlc, talk to me when you purchased by blood alone for hoi4. Sega is the publisher not the developers, the developers are creative assembly which actually don't have a reputation of bad dlc at all lmao.
      Warhammer total wars are unlike the other total wars because it uses game workshop licensing so they can only publish at the prices games workshop allows. If you are upset with the prices for total war Warhammer games and dlc I would suggest complain to games workshop or stop being poor.

    This tutorial already failed when it didn't explain the most confusing thing for all beginners, the vortex campaign and the Mortal Empires. An absolute beginner's guide needs to address the most fundamental and most confusing things for beginners. This jumped a little too fast to the faction selection screen. Slow down bro and explain the steps before that, like campaigns, battles and stuff.

      Only so much I can fit in a concise video, there's lots of 20-40min videos out there that explain everything in full detail.
