Base on this trailer she looks like a very strong support. The best part about her kit is that she can see her allies through walls and can teleport to them when they need healing so yeah thats kinda neat. Also a good counter for both Ana's biotic grenade and Junker Queen's life style effect.
hey i agree, kiriko looks super fun. Thought it was worth letting you know that, currently, anyone can see their teammates through walls. It's done by enabling their outlines to always show in controls :)
I'm sure she will be strong especially if battle pass payers get early access to new heroes. I'm sure every new hero will be OP and then rebalanced when the poors get access.

She's definitely an interesting one. It feels like a combo of most of the healers. That white light immortality field like bap's, zen's healing orb, and moira's fade except she can go through walls all in 1. Also seems to have genji like movement and knife throw aiming mechanics. I wonder how they'll balance her damage to her healing.

Damage is weak unless you aim for the head. Throws them really slow

Ye she looks like a mix between Genji, Ana and no idea what her ultimate does. Im assuming it’s massive healing area in a path that allows the her allies to push whilst being healed? So kinda like a healing version of Hanzo’s Ult

To be fair, the invulnerability didn’t look like it lasted very long. Pretty sure it’s gonna be better used as a cleanse for anti heal’s.

That's a good thing. I hope more supports moving forward will have plenty of utility and mobility.
Just keep on releasing supports like this until the massive DPS gap is gone. There are too many DPS in the game and this is a cool concept that looks very well executed. Overwatch is a damage centered game, theres no issue shifting some of the power over to supports.
I still think pushing Sym to support is possible

Can't wait for the eventual Kiriko Idol Song to come out. You don't just hire a Japanese Voice Idol (especially with the interesting renown that Sally Amaki brings as a American-born Japanese Idol) without using the singing aspects of her voice.
Though, it is interesting that they have a separate Voice Actress specifically for the Japanese version - probably because it might be too much workload for Sally to do all her lines twice in two different languages (on top of her idol duties in 22/7).
Finally, a healer who can keep up with Genji and his need for healing.

We are all missing on a very crucial detail in the trailer. Not only can she teleport but she can also wallclimb! Which will be super efficient as a support in particular! I love her

@@timar6868 but it's not just an FPS, it's an ability shooter. Playing around abilities is built into the game. Ow2 is already making the game more brawly and FPS focused, this is a step into a healthy middle ground so they don't alienate their past fans who enjoyed the ability aspect
This is way more practical than giving Ana an elevator I guess

Very helpful if u play as her giving no excuses to why there’s no heals u should be able to get high ground and heal your teammates and it seems like her healing is long range as well
Can't wait to play her in Overwatch 2. She probably will be really fun to play with teleports and wall climbs.
Not sure if that teleport is an actual ability tbh, looks like they did that to connect the different scenes

I love her. She seems like such a fun character to play! She can climb walls, teleport, heal, fight like just UGH I wasn't gonna keep playing but now....
Supports really needed a character like this. On overwatch 2 you're a much easier target as a healer imo. You don't have the protection of 2 tanks anymore and damage is hardly ever nearby. This character can avoid danger pretty well if spotted with no teammates nearby. That's why the pros were going Lucio & Brigitte. Not the easiest healers to pick off & the combination of abilities are OP with Junker Queen.

Thank God. I've been wanting a new support for ages, the category has been so stale(and while I am bored, I do love healing and I'm NOT dealing with dps Queue times), and thankfully she looks fun. I pray she's balanced or slightly overtuned at best so she isn't nerfed into the ground

For those interested, 霧子 (Kiriko) translates to "mist woman", 霧(kiri)=mist, 子(ko)= suffix for a woman's given name.

It means "child" (or in some sense, anything small), but it is correct that is used in women's name. If you see a name ending in -ko there is a 97% chance it is a woman's given name.

From what I’ve seen and read of her abilities, she seems like an actually fun support. I’ve always felt like the Support category in the original should have been renamed to ‘Healer’, as that’s basically the only thing they did. But now with a support that can provide a very short burst of damage immunity, and has an ultimate which buffs teammates by increasing attack speed, reload speed, and ability cooldowns, instead of just healing teammates, she seems like an actual ‘support’.
You have no idea how badly we healer mains needed this.

Honestly idek what that was. At first it looked like a clense but then it saved them from tire. Maybe it makes them immune to dmg for a second or two? Either way looks like another broken ability blizz are gonna struggle to balance....
I think it lasts for 1s or less as well.
Its an immortality ability that also cleanses. It is also on a long cooldown

if I remember correctly, Kanezaka was created through a developer's design suggestion and it was cool enough to be made into an actual map.
It's cool that they already have a character based on the map.

I'm sure the voice actor did her best. I am worried about the mispronunciation of kitsune. Why did she say it that way? As Japanese born, hearing it is a bit awkward.

@@InsulinRunner Just following the script. She's pure japanese, and works/lives in japan as an idol, she won't have any problems pronouncing that. I wish the scripwriters could've written "fox spirit" instead of "kitsune", or just written the entire sentence in japanese like the other voice lines.

She can have Japanese parents, live in Japan and speak Japanese, that doesn't mean her delivery was any good. VA's have directors to make sure they get the lines right and know when they need to do a retake. I wouldn't put it past blizzard to assume the line was good just because she's Japanese. Anyone who knows a little Japanese can tell you that pronunciation is terrible. Some of her English lines are bad too. It's not a matter of ethnics, but the quality of her performance that I have a problem with.

They did at least promise that you would be able to unlock the characters after their battlepass was done, however I agree that heroes shouldn't have been added to the battlepass in the first place.

This is a really neat hero trailer. Kiriko looks so cool! However, unfortunately, there was a moment at about 0:49 when she was climbing up the wall where there was this, kind of flash and I very briefly remembered that an Activision Blizzard employee stole breast milk from a mother working at the company office. Other than that, great trailer.

@@RetronicBruh Wow, Luna looks like Kitsune, which is what they're both based on, which is a character that came out in early 8th century.
If she has good DPS then she is going to be scary because she can go DEEP into the back lines and get a pick without fear of dying.
She doesn't have good dps actually, unless you manage to hit headshots constantly, which is not likely

So from what i can tell shes a support hero that has a passive where she can climb,a ability to provide a short time damage immunity,teleport through things and a speed buffing(fire rate buff??) ultimate.

Also. Why haven’t they just made a movie yet? Seriously it could be perfect and quite impactful if a hero died during the film and rotated-out in OW2 in the same season, and then an animated short brings them back from the dead a few months later to add them back into the roster. Maybe with some significant changes (maybe they’re on a revenge arc and are bad now or something)

I like it.. it's basically like Zenyatta/Brigitte healing and Baptiste invulnerability, but shorter duration.
This play style definitely fits Overwatch better. Faster healing/buffing abilities and long range too.
None of that slow paced healing that requires you to stick to your team only to be focused on instead of them.
With her, even if focused on in the backline, you got nice mobility and escape tools with teleport and wallclimb.
Glad Overwatch is getting updated. Looks good!

Ok seriously all three of the new heroes so far look super fun. I was hoping for double that amount for the launch of OW2, but I can definitely settle for this.
If I'd known you'd release sooner, I'd have wondered if you were going to have a "Custom Heroes" segment to the game so we can make our own characters. It's not illegal copyright from LEGO videogames or Skylanders Imaginators. It's because lots of games have that feature.
