Ok...To me....there's a resemblance of Metallica within it. Metallica has a different sound, yes. But, this song I love and it feels like a glorified 80's tune. GREAT CHOICE! ❤

Yes they've said Metallica was an inspiration of there's. I've taken Nikki my daughter since she was 13 to Mayhem festivals every year! These guys showed up 1 year along with FFDP, Disturbed, Slipknot and Korn, so many bands every year! Never have they failed live! Excellent band, same for Godsmack impeccable live!! Fooken🔥
It definitely takes influence from black album era Metallica in particular - so much so that the album cover is predominantly black 😂

“Little piece of Heaven” is a CRAZY video. I’ve never heard b4 seeing video. Reasons will be self explanatory. But worth a watch along with “Nobody” or “So far away.”

Sheperds of fire ...heretic blood...planets .....crimson day.....this means war.....this whole album...then jump to their album avenged sevenfold and just go through the albums.....another awesome album is the stage....hail to the king and the stage will get a newbie into them then the earlier stuff as they grow on you until you cant have enough....

I’m not the biggest Avenged fan, but they have some incredible songs. And huge influence from bands like Metallica, which is probably why I like them
Agreed, Metallica is my favo band abd there are def similarities...melodic metal plus dual harmony lines. Syn is a beast, and Jimmy was one of the top 15 drummers, in my opinion
You 9:15 never get the same sound from album to album. Never a dull moment with Avenged Sevenfold. Oh, and Mindcrime. Also, you will do yourself a injustice if you dont do a deeeeepppp dive into these guys. You have to park your brain just a little off center to really get these guy's.

If you like this you will like Shinedown, Avenge Sevenfold has been around for 20+ years, just heard them 10 years ago, they kill it. Play Volbeat for the guy thats been asking for awhile, you won't be disappointed.
This is such a weird band for me. absolutely love the music and musicianship. I struggle a lot with the vocals. They're like a 40/60 split of "great/terrible" for me. That said, I acknowledge and appreciate the badassery of them. Bat Country is a fuckin jam though. Their best song IMO.
If you like guitar solos, this is the band for you... Next try something from their third album, for example the song Bat Country. X)

Nightmare is a banger to me and one of their best. A7X have become my favourite band of the 21st century. Afterlife, Bat Country, Buried Alive, A little Piece of Heaven, The Stage, So Far Away and Size the Day are just some of their great songs. They have too many great songs to listen them all. You also need to listen to SOAD album Toxicity. One of the best Alt Metal albums ever. Get on the A7X train they are awsome. They are so varied in their songs. I think you will also like Bullet For My Vallentine. Try Scream Aim Fire, Tears Don't Fall and Waking The Demon. Seen them live 3 Times.
Since your on this album sheperds of fire be next then the whole album....its my number 1 album on my playlist nothing matches it...even metallica and I love metallica

This is one of their worst songs as a fan, there are songs that are miles ahead of this one. Hail to the king is a good song but better live
It's actually considered one of their weaker songs. This album is not considered as great as their earlier albums.

I've listened to some songs courtesy of Guitar Hero. Definitely a fan of the vocals and guitar. Oh and this was one of the first bands I recall hearing the double snare drum (If I am not mistaken).

I always say A7X is like Metallica if they were born 20 years later... I think they are incredibly underrated, anything short of 2nd biggest Metal band is bonkers. I don't know many bands who don't miss and the truth is you can listen to pretty much every A7X song and find something to love about it, kinda like Metallica.
They kill it live, love their harmony and solo sections, evolve their music over time, etc. Very much inspired by Metallica, but at this point, I'd say they're influencing each other now. They deserve all the praise they get. Their newest album is weird but its an artistic masterpiece IMO.
Anyways, sorry for the rant but I love these 2 bands lol 😂

I am often surprised that people do not realize that Gates is playing that intro through the entire song save for the chorus and solos.
